Online reservations at Southpark Seafood can only be made directly on their website.
Love the atmosphere will definitely be returning! I was out to dinner with my fiancé and before we knew it we had been there 3 hours with just great food wine and conversation it never seemed like we were waiting for anything was amazing!
Supremely fresh seafood creatively prepared. Relatively small menu. Our trout and halibut were amazing! Service was extraordinarily professional and friendly at the same time. This must be Portland's best seafood restaurant!
Great dungeonus crab. Lousy salmon and halibut. Nice wine and cheesecake. Poor service. Bad value.
This is a great restaurant that is very convenient to downtown and even provides free parking. If you're going to an event at the Schnitzer, it's literally right across the street diagonally. A bit pricey, but the food is good. Don't miss the brussel sprouts and their french fries are terrific!
Food and services were excellent
Very relaxed feel, great service and the food is amazing!
We ate at Southpark Seafood this past weekend after seeing a film at a nearby theater. We were seated promptly. Our server was attentive and provided good information about the menu. Each of us chose a small plate option (Dungeness crab salad, burger, and fried chicken) and we were all very satisfied with our choices. We have eaten at Southpark before and intend to so again in the future.
Food was excellent. Nice presentation. Quick service; friendly, and knowledgeable server. Will come back next I'm in town!
OMG the oysters. The selection of WA state oysters cannot be beat. I say best seat is at the oyster bar. Ask the schuckers, they are very knowledgeable about the oysters. Generous array of happy hour specials. Loved the option of the Pacific Northwest pinot noir flight. The chowder was to die for.
We had a 6:30 time. The service was very slow. There was an event that others were headed. The initial contact with our help was extremely slow and when we said we were not headed to the event it became invisible. Probably 15 minutes for our drinks and then 10 more to place our dinner request. Nearly another 20 minutes before bread and salads and by then we were about only ones in the place. Two of us had salad and chowder and one had the salmon so not complicated. Food was great but a bit of an ordeal to get.
Best Brussel sprouts ever. Salmon was amazing. The ravioli is incredible. Every bite is the best. One of my fav restaurants in the world!
If you want a guaranteed great dinner, look no further! Never been disappointed here. One of my top spots in Portland.
This is our new go-to restaurant before attending the symphony . My Mom and I have season tickets and have had many great experiences at Southpark . The seafood is always on point as well as the service . We always look forward to returning for our next experience . Keep up the good work .
Tried Southpark, looking for a good seafood restaurant in Portland. This is a gem. A bit of a challenge to find because of Portland's street labeling, but worth the hunt.
Casual to business dress. Lot's of space, which filled up quickly on a week night.
Very attentive serving staff, all of whom knew the menu very well.
Tried several appetizers and main courses, and they well all very well prepared and wonderfully tasty.
The wine list is inventive and focuses on Oregon and Washington wines, although does have wines from the rest of the world. The prices are very friendly - probably one and a half to twice retail. Certainly not a gouge.
Desserts were a special treat.
Prices, although not inexpensive, are very reasonable for the quality of the food.
I had the happy hour choose-your-own charcuterie board with salmon, shrimp and scallops. I chose not to have cheese or salamis which was a nice feature on a happy hour menu. My husband had the happy hour burger with the smoked pastrami on top. Everything was delicious! We even had the petit fours, one peanut butter and one espresso for dessert. We also shared a caesar salad. I'm looking forward to going back another time.
nice meal overall but the salmon tartare was exceptional!
I took my wife to Southpark Seafood for a birthday lunch. It was an outstanding experience for a very rainy and windy day. We were met at the door by a super friendly hostess who seated us early and was quite cheery and professional. The wait staff was outstanding with the food arriving in a very timely manner which paired nicely with the wine recommendations.
We also felt that the prices were excellent for the quality and quantity of food that arrived as we walked away content in every-way.
We would Highly recommend Southpark Seafood to anyone and will be back!
The food here is nothing special, expensive and inconsistent. The service is inattentive.
I you like fresh oysters Southpark has a dozen varieties to chose from. Also a nice selection of local beers. I picked Southpark from Yelp and was not disappointed.
Give it a try!!
We had a wonderful dinner here last weekend. The oyster lovers in the group started with oysters. Then the four of us shared small plates and salads. Our waitress gave great information and a good wine suggestion. We had a great time and everything was delicious and interesting. We especially loved the salmon tartare and the shrimp and grits.
We have eaten here many times over the years and the entire experience is consistently good, especially the food and the service. Although they have other options be prepared to enjoy seafood. I always have oysters here and the variety is excellent. This time I had the baked oysters and if you are looking for something different give them a try. I like the option of small plates, which are actually quite generous portions but also give you the option of sharing and experiencing more variety. If you like Brussel sprouts, that option here is delicious in a reduction sauce. The wine list here adequate but the I decide to try the house red, Portuguese blend, full bodied with nice finish. Our server was exceptional. For dinner be prepared to spend $100 for two including wine. The location is perfect if you're going to the theatre or symphony.
The food was once again amazing. The staff was great and super friendly.
My sister and I went for dinner before a show at Keller Auditorium on a Saturday night. We had a reservation, and were seated right away. We ordered a couple appetizers and small plates to share, and it was all delicious and fantastic. We started with the smoked salmon dip and the beet salad, then had the black cod in dashi broth, and the spicy shrimp and grits. All of the dishes were perfectly balanced and prepared - and the attention to the flavors and textures made it all a wonderful meal. Just the right amount of food before a show. The service was great, friendly, and efficient. I've been to Southpark before, and will definitely be back again.
New dishes with unusual pairings that made the meal for tasty and interesting. Light touch on the smoked scallops was amazing. We were all happy with our food choices. Waitress was delightful and support staff pretty quick to do what needed to be done.
We visit Portland several times a year and this time I wanted to gather with some friends at a "special" place. Southpark did not disappoint. Such nice presentation, service, and yummy food. Various people in our party had oysters, clam chowder, beet salad, the cold-smoked scallops. I had the ever delicious brussels sprouts. As a vegetarian, it's a joy to find such good options at a seafood restaurant. Some had wine and really liked their selections and we all finished off the meal with decaf espresso that was just the right temp and powerful taste. It's all a little on the spendy side, but worth the quality and the service and the locale. We were able to walk to the Keller Auditorium in about 15 minutes to Hamilton, where our great dinner was topped off by a great show. Three cheers for Southpark and downtown Portland. Hip hip hooray!
Absolutely wonderful food! I can't wait to go back!
It was a pleasant suprise. I usually like a little more initimate restaurants as this one is very big. it has a bar area, an oyster bar area and standard dining room. The place is big and it is open lolng hours. We had a reso at 8pm and it was still crowded. People walking in still at 10 pm. We had oysters from the oyster bar and tried a couple of apps and a couple of entrees. The food was great. Very tasty and very fresh with unique flavors and accompanyments.
It was fine
Hit and miss - very poor service. The clam chowder was incredible, great bread, we liked the oysters, but sent back the extremely salty crab salad. It took them 20 mins to get a glass of wine to the table, and that with a little attitude. Overall a disappoint on our first evening in Portland.
The food was delicious! Their veggie dishes are really amazing - their balsamic sauce was fantastic. The service started off slow (took 10 minutes for our server to come over to take our order). But once we put in our order, everything came quickly.
We came in early, 530pm, as we were seeing Hamilton afterwards. It was Portland Dining month , which was a great value for $33. we had salad - great dressing on house salad; my husband loved the beet salad. the entree was sliced beef w/ a roasted cauliflower salad which was excellent! Dessert for me was an excellent scoop of raspberry sorbet, for husband, vanilla. both had great flavor. our server was excellent. she steered me to a great red from Spain. and kept the food moving on. we were in and out in an hour, even with the crowd. the tables are close and it filled up quickly and then became VERY noisy. I would prefer not to hear all of my neighbors' conversations, but in this restaurant, you do.
Brussels sprouts are to die for. We went during Portland dining month but only half our table ordered off the special menu because the regular menu is so appealing. The portion sizes are on the larger side for Portland, and for Portland dining month they were the same size as normal dishes. We were impressed and the leftovers were amazing. Seriously though, get the Brussels sprouts.
Always great place to stop before a show
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our meal at Southpark. We ordered from the dining month menu, which provided wonderful food at a good value. I had the brussels sprouts (excellent) and my husband had the beet salad. Both portions were very generous, and the flavor combinations were interesting and successful. My husband had the flatiron steak and I had the steelhead. The meat was well seasoned and well cooked, and the accompaniments worked well with the meat and, again, were generous, interesting and flavorful. The dessert portions were smaller, but they were the perfect way to end a good meal.
Needed something to eat after the symphony. Awesome oyster bar (maybe the best in town!). Great champagne choices. Great service, ambience. I know where we'll go after symphony (here).
When we are in Portland we always try to enjoy a meal at Southpark. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. They never disappoint.
Really Great food. Loved the oysters. Service was friendly and attentive. We sat in the bar prior to our reservation to enjoy a couple drinks and the bartenders were great, really friendly with awesome recommendations. We will definitely be back.
The food is amazing! The service was ok. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the gluten free options. The timing of the courses was right on track. You finished one dish right when they brought out the next. My only issue with this place is how long it took us to order and pay. We sat for about 20 minutes before we got our drinks and we ordered those the first time the waiter saw us. It took anther 20 minutes before we could order our food. The waiter forgot to bring us the special menu and stopped by twice mentioning menu items but not letting us ask questions. When I finally got to ask about gluten free options he knew them all along with modifications. When we were finished it took a long time to get the check. We were there for 2.5 hours total. We did get 3 courses, but we did not need to be there that long. This is not a wick dining option, so if you need to be anywhere afterwards, give yourself plenty of time and tell the staff of time constraints.
Such a reliably professional but friendly place, it's one of my favorite business lunch locations. The menu offers a nice range of offerings without over-saturation or trying too hard. Service is always excellent and as attentive as you want it to be. Open floor plan makes you part of something interesting without having to share your conversation -- or anyone else's. I've liked it here for a long time; changes that have occurred never disappointed me, and I expect it will be a go-to place for me for many years.
Nice restaurant for a casual or more formal meal. Not too loud to talk. Interesting wine flights.
