Southpark has been consistently very good. Service is casual but professional, servers have been there a long time and know the menu, wine list, etc. All of our food was very good and we had a very enjoyable evening.

Risotto sauce was overbearing and ruined taste of scallops, salt overpowered steak, and desserts were not fresh.

You have got to try the Brussels sprouts - seriously. Go there just for that and all else is just icing on the cake! We also had their steamers (yup) and their Beet salad. All so good!

Their seafood is always fresh and of wide variety. They do excellent cocktails and have a good wine list. We have never been disappointed when we dine at Southpark Seafood. They also validate your parking in the adjacent parking garage, which a great convenience since on-street parking can be difficult.

I would recommend Southpark to friends, but the value is not there. Price is a little high. I.e. all over Portland and compared to the other similar establishments like jake’s, you don’t get the bang for your buck here.

Second time we ate here while visiting Portland. Maybe we should try somewhere new but why go somewhere else when limited time and this restaurant serves great food. Also has great wait persons. Will eat here again on our next visit to Portland. Suggest calling for a reservation.

Southpark Seafood is one of our favorite restaurants in Portland. It hits it out of the par every time! As my husband and I eat our main meal of the day at lunchtime, I appreciate that SPS does offer a range of entrees on their lunchtime menu. The desserts are divine!!!

It was a busy Friday night and we were seated in a small table smashed next to another couple. The manager walked by and said let me take care of and gave us the table next to us. Appreciate when someone sees a bad situation and corrects it instead of ignoring.
We had the fresh crab and Brussel sprouts and beet salads. Very yummy!

The food was adequate but service slow and disjointed (i.e wine arrived significantly later after hors-devours, an hour to get our main plate). Crab salad was sloppy and lacked genuine care in presentation. Octopus came with a bizarre potato salad. I didn’t feel like the quality was comparable to the price. It wasn’t horrible but not great.

Salad with winter vegetables was lettuce and radishes with hazelnuts. That’s it. Really?? A plate of lettuce!!!??

Southpark Seafood
Responded on January 16, 2020

I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the mixed green salad. We work with local farmers in the area and our winter vegetables include carrots, cucumber, turnips, and radishes. Our mixed greens are made up of local baby mustard greens, chicories, mizuna, and red leaf lettuces. Although it is predominantly lettuce, we pride ourselves on serving a variety of local, fresh, and sustainable produce. You can always ask for additional vegetables. We hope you will give us another chance.

Service was very slow but we did get served after 35 minutes looking at the menus . Convenient and we frequent in the summer months happy hours. Our second New Years eve dinner with them
I loved my date night with my wife and once we were served we were not rushed out of our table.

We typically love this place. It was a little off this time though. Probably the hustle of New Year's Eve dinners, but both food and service were down a notch. The food was coming out too fast...we ordered set menus and plates were coming out before we had finished the previous course. Two of the dishes were almost cold too. Definitely a miss, but at least the oysters were good. I'd go again, but not likely on a big night like NYE.

I booked for a New Years Eve pre concert dinner. I did the Tasting menu and was very happy with the selections. The Osyter Appetizer was good, first time having Osyter. I also selected the King Salmon and in the past have not enjoyed Salmon but I did enjoy the flavor of the Salmon very much. I'm always wanting to try new things and the new things I did try at Southpark Seafood did not disappoint.

We hadn’t been to SP in a few years. What a great experience back. The food was outstanding, from the crab salad we had as an appetizer to the scallops and ago we had as entrees. Great flavors that absolutely popped! And the pastry chef is stellar! Petit fours and lemon cheesecake were out of this world. Service was also incredible. I have allergies and lots of menu questions, and I got great suggestions without any attitude. Only drawback is the tables are very close together . Definitely time to put SP back in our main rotation.

Wonderful selection of Canadian and U.S. oysters. All exceedingly fresh and the mignonette sauce was correctly prepared. Clam chowder was also very good. Clams were still in their shells! I would have liked it even more without the gnocchi. French fries were tasty and plentiful. Loved the accompanying habanero sauce even more than my usual sriracha. By-the-glass wine selection was OK -- nothing I usually order, so I tried the Anne Amie Muller-Thurgau (Oregon) and it went very nicely with the oysters. I asked for a quiet spot so was seated in back by the bar. The waitress provided excellent service -- friendly and efficient. I really liked this spot and am anxious to return on my next trip.

Outstanding dinner with impeccable service! We celebrated my birthday in style and were treated very well. The seafood here is excellent, fresh and well prepared. We were also happy with the wine flights that added to the enjoyment of our evening and accompanied our meals well. We'll be back! SouthPark is a real gem!!

The side dishes are huge portions and so flavorful (beet salad, carrots, brussels sprouts). Ahi tuna perfect. Only complaint is the whole Dungeness crab was overcooked and possibly not completely fresh (this was a late Sunday night. Easy to converse and attentive service. Good place for big eaters and Foodies!

It was a lunch together with old friends we had not seen awhile. Two of us started with the Brussels sprouts side dish as an appetizer and it was one of the best preparations of this dish I ever tasted. Two of us ordered the seafood stew which got rave reviews from both. One of us had a very delicious salad as a main and I had the rockfish with white beans and pomegranate seeds - simply superb. Our waitress was very pleasant, made a superb recommendation for a sparkling rose wine that paired wonderfully with what each ordered, and was attentive without being obtrusive. The food, drink and atmosphere helped to lubricate a far ranging conversation. In all a great time.

The service is great always, we added a guest at the last minute but they were still able to make accommodations to seat us. Even before the shows they hustle. The bar service has been realllly slow the last 4 or 5 visits tho so something is different.

We've tried everything on the menu. The burger is to die for, seafood dishes in general are great. The scallops this visit were not firm n grilled rather mushy? Not sure why? But the chowder, caesar, shrimp n grits, app's were yum!! Well be back...one of our favorite restaurants.

We have been to South Park often. They have the best raw oyster selection in Portland, from our perspective. Their entire menu is innovative and they offer small plates, cheeses and other items, making the eating experience really fun and unique.
