Southpark Seafood
Amazing!! The food, cocktails and service could not have been better!! We were a party of 7 and we all felt the same! The Brussels sprouts are ridiculously good!
New favorite restaurant!!
Perfect location should one have concert plans PLUS the food was outstanding! The service was very attentive and friendly! We will happily return in the near future!
Our server was awesome!! Everything about the experience was delightful. We will be back. Brussel Sprouts are unbelievable ❤️
We had a group of 11. The service was outstanding! Great cocktails and everyone was pleased with their food. The “chocolate board” dessert is a great idea.
The service was very good , however the food was very bland and VERY expensive.
Their lunch menu could include more seafood-heavy alternatives. When I go to a seafood restaurant, I expect to eat a pound of salmon, crab, or lobster. Most of the menu consists of salads with a seafood topping or a sandwich with seafood. It just feels like they could up their offering for the more protein-based eater. On the whole, though, it’s a quality restaurant and their oyster selection is outstanding.
The drinks were good. Pace of food being brought out was nice. The maple eclairs are wonderful.
First time and will return on our next visit to Portland. Oysters are fantastic and we made a meal with seafood tower and many small plates. Clam chowder is a must and don’t pass on the brussel sprouts.
The food was great I waited a tad too long for someone to bring me water and start my dining process.
Awesome atmosphere and delicious food. Menu had great different selections. Shrimp & Grits off the hook!
knowledgeable server regarding food; less so about wine. was slow getting wine to us; had almost finished the meal. pricey, but would go there again. loved the oysters!
My great go to restaurant to take my guest. Always great.
Too much expensive for the quality of the food. We had the crab dinner for 2. We asked for hot. Either it was old or the-heated. Was stringy and shriveled. Definitely not the was fresh crab tastes. If someone goes there, they should make a different menu choice. Other than that, the restaurant is nicely designed and service was good. Salad and dessert excellent.
I am a younger guy with good hearing but the absolute loud taking and outbursts from many of the tables surrounding us was unbearable.
If you want a quaint location to have a special occasion dinner and you want to talk, not yell at your partner find another establishment.
Sincerely,
Long time Portland resident
Tried the new fall tasting menu and it was great. Had the ahi and beet and goat cheese ravioli as our mains. Both were excelent. Our server was wonderful. We waited a bit longer than usual for service, but she checked in and made sure we knew we were not being ignored. It's always crazy when there is a concert at the Schnitz, so we were not surprised it took a while to get service.
The seafood was amazing. Well thought menu and we had a booth so we were very comfortable. Our server was courteous friendly and paid just the right amount of attention. Not intrusive and yet we were not ignored either. The noise level was good compared to many Portland restaurants. I could actually hear the conversation at my table The Brussels sprouts were a favorite and the baked oysters of which we sampled every one, were a delight. Highly recommend for a special occasion dinner for the seafood lover but I noticed many other options for those who do not! So you can bring that non seafood person along without complaints.
Great array of fresh seafood and other options to meet the tastes of our large group! I’d go again.
Souuth Park is a reliable, high-quality restaurant in a perfect location, when you’re attending a performance downtown.
Our usual pre theater dinner at Southpark never disappoints yet tonight's service surpassed any that we've experienced before. Our waiter was helpful with wine selection offering tastes to support his suggestions. He was willing to explore substituting veggies for fries and checked on us at different times to ensure we were having a fine dining experience. The manager also came by and we told him how pleased we were. I would like to see the pastrami that comes with the cheeseburger to be optional as it is at happy hour with a reduction of $3.00 if one doesn't have it. Since I also have my burger bunless, I would like to see a reduction in price if one orders a "plain" version without all of the fixings. Otherwise, I think the prices are a bit high but fair. Also, the restaurant validates parking in its attached garage and is easily accessible to ride share drivers. Southpark is located near the Performing Arts Center and the staff is very skilled in making sure you have a relaxed dinner while still ensuring you are out in time for your show. We'll keep going back as long as they are open. And again, kudos to our excellent server.
Service was fantastic as usual and the food was perfectly prepared.
All pretty good, but the "large plate" portions were pretty laughable.
We ate dinner before going over to watch David Sedaris, then we returned with 6 more people of my family for dessert and drinks. And the whole reason was because of our server, Haley. She doesn’t know it but the woman I was with had just escaped a cult not long ago and had few experiences out. She was nervous and apprehensive. The service Haley provided was, aside from being top notch, was very healing for this lady. If I were rich, she’d never have to work again. Thanks.
As always, well-executed food and professional service.
Delicious crab salad . Friendly service, nice window views. Happy lunch experience!
The food (we ordered salmon and halibut) was excellent. The server was very accommodating and even found out the location in Portugal where the wine was harvested. That was above and beyond our expectations.
Happy Hour was reasonably priced for food and drinks, but the main menu was a little on the expensive side. Overall it was a very satisfying experience at Southpark Seafood, and we will undoubtedly return another time. Great place!
Dinner before the opera. Fabulous!
I have eaten at Southpark Seafood once before and enjoyed it so much that went back before a pre-theater dinner. Was not quite as impressed as the first time. The appetizer, or small plate, was wonderful. However, my halibut was over cooked. My husband's salmon was cooked perfectly though. Service was a bit slow and it was not very busy when we first sat. That being said, I would return.
Food was excellent... hostess and waiter were friendly nice selection of from the raw bar... would definitely go back if I ever end up in Portland again
Great experience! Food was amazing!
best clam chowder in the city. and the brussel sprouts are amazing too.
Been here three times already and loved it each time. Appetizers were tasty and you can never be wrong. Some are flavor and texture intense and that makes it special. Clam chowder with gnocchi taste great. Very rich. Every restaurant has their take on brussel sprouts and this one is tops. Oyster selection is pretty good. Most are mediums and small but would be good to see a couple of larger sized oysters in the menu. Maybe it was just timing. Overall, a great seafood experience.
Great selection of oysters, probably the best in Portland. Selection usually includes a few East Coast oysters - usually Atlantic Canada, but sometimes Massachusetts and Virginia.
Symphony night. Food service a bit slow. I say this because we arrived early and waited for someone to order. Waiting for the bill and for final pay was too slow, given need to go to the concert—-which our waiter knew. Food was good
The food was OK. I had scallops with a cheesy risotto which I thought was not a good combo. Also for $41 quite expensive. 3 large scallops and a lot of risotto. The salmon my partner had was very very good. Side Brussel sprouts were good, but the side carrots were hard. They included some large ones in the mix and you could barely get through them with a knife. WE had one excellent wine and one interesting wine. Dessert was excellent. Overall it was a mixed bag.
My wife and I have been there several times in the past. All have been good. This last time we got the same thing we ordered last time on their pre-fixe menu because it was very good. The dishes that we got we're very different and smaller in addition we're both got really bad heartburn. The previous time the food was excellent without gastrointestinal distress. This time I don't know what happened but it was disappointing.
always excellent food!
Our server was too casual and did not feel like a finer dining experience.
Out for a birthday dinner for my husband and our 4 year old. Hostess was very accommodating because I mistakenly put reservations for 2 instead of 3 and she totally fixed my error in short time. Nice menu diversity, a kids menu (!!), good service, good food (my only complaint was a slightly rubbery texture to the top of the grits that was fine when it got mixed into the rest), and a nice little birthday dessert at the end. Bartender even made me a yummy mock-tail! Noise level was fine when we got there at 545, but definitely getting noisier when we left after 715. We had a great time and would totally go back!
We dine at SP whenever we visit Portland. Consistently a wonderful experience. We have always had great service and, of course, the NW Seafood is great. I am surprised when I see a hamburger go by on the way to another table, but I am sure the hamburger must be tops too.
Easy to reach via the PDX Max Line. Close to many other downtown activities too. A great happy hour and especially in summer when outdoor dining is available.
Server was rude and was a bartender; food was very salty. Portions were extremely small
Always a treat. The staff make you feel at home and comfortable with your choices from the menu.
