Our group ordered a selection of cioppino, crab salad, crab sandwich, clam chowder etc. each item was well presented and well prepared.
Given Portland‘s reputation as a food mecca, I was slightly unimpressed with the food. Halibut was very good. Salad ok and my chocolate dessert excellent. Wine was not that great on a value for money scale.
Southpark is one of the finest restaurants in Portland . There were 9 in our party ,5 from across the US. All were super pleased with lunch items, raving about chowder, crab rolls and salted caramel gelato. Fit for foodies!
Understaffed. Waiter was running around checking on everybody’s table and forgot about us. We sat there and waited for him to bring our bill and then sat again waiting for him to collect the bill. Food portions were small restaurant is overrated
Great service. Great drinks! Had a wonderful time!
Lunch with colleagues- very nice venue. Oysters were spectacular and it was great that they had a flight of Pinot noir (also rose). Delicious, good service, and the food came out in a decent span of time. Would eat here again.
Great place, food and service! We enjoyed every dish and our waiter made some great suggestions. We loved the lox, brussel sprouts, calamari, scallops and their housemade sorbets. All delicious and beautifully presented! We will definitely go back when visiting Portland.
The food at Southpark Seafood was excellent! We were especially happy with the dozen oysters we ordered for our appetizer. The restaurant was very loud and energetic so maybe it's not the place if you want a quiet romantic dinner on a weekend night. My only real complaint (which isn't exactly a complaint but more of an observation) is that the wait staff seemed very disorganized. They were all very friendly but we received one neighboring table's entree and and another neighboring table's steak knives. Our waiter needed to constantly double and triple check the computer. The staff just didn't seem to know which table was which or what the guest at that table needed.
Always excellent food!
Loved the Tasting Menu - appetizer, main course and dessert for $38. Both my husband and I had this trio. We enjoyed each course and loved that it was enough but not an overwhelming amount of food. We each has a flight of wine and enjoyed that as well. Parking was easy in the garage next door and our parking was validated by the restaurant. Great service and lovely atmosphere. We would eat here again!
Please put your Black Cod small plate back on the menu. We really miss it.
Unpleasant dining experience! Not recommended!!!
One of our favorite Portland restaurants that we've been enjoying for years. Reliably delicious fare; oysters galore, creative seasonal preparations . We're not the only ones who love this place. The dining room can get very loud, especially when there's an exuberant large group of celebrants as there was last night. Nevertheless, the ambience is welcoming, comfortable and the service attentive. Perfect pre-performance meal, steps away from the theatre. Highly recommended.
Loved the oysters
My wife and I have been here several times and the food and service have been excellent. My wife LOVES their Brussel sprouts dish. She says 'best I've ever had '.
Was my sister’s Birthday! Wait stuff was very attentive and made our night special.
This is always a go-to restaurant... I have been here for many lunches and dinners for over 25 years.
The service was great and food was incredible!
Love Southpark - great food, location and ambience!
I was a bit disappointed with the timing of our service this time at SouthPark. Our server was good, but it seemed like they might have been a bit understaffed. I have felt, in past visits, like Southpark is very versed in serving people that are on their way to various local evening events. This time I found the service a bit on the slow side and it became uncomfortably tight to finish and get out the door on time.
We return again and again for the seafood (this time, salmon) but brussel sprouts are outstanding.
When we were between the main course and dessert, the waiter took ten minutes to clear the table. She walked passed and didn't pay attention. Another waiter volunteered to clear our table - even they noticed things were taking too long.
Exceptional good food,
fresh , high quality oysters
Very good cocktails
Excellent attentive Service
Your restaurant has always been very consistent with the food, service and ambiance. We have been coming to you for many years, often times bringing our friends who have never been to Portland before and celebrating our anniversaries and birthdays there. Portland has many eateries but we always end up coming back to you!
The meal was superb and the service was amazing. Our waitress explained the menu very well and excellent recommendations. She checked on us often and made sure we had everything on time. I had the halibut and clam chowder both very tasty and made with the freshest ingredients. Super delicious. Also, it was my friend’s birthday and they comped the very delicious desert. Loved the staff and especially our waitress.
Happy hour definitely worth it - okay service Definitely did not enhance the experience
Fabulous dinner. Fresh seafood and lovely atmosphere. This restaurants has stood the test of time.
Mona was a fantastic server, took great care of us. Food was delightful too.
Food was good as always. Love Brussel sprouts , beet salad & crab. Desserts were disappointing as was our service. Server seems “off his game”- several guests were drinking water only & had to keep asking for refills, had a hard time catching his attention. Seemed liked the gal next door was more responsive to us. This is probably our 4th or 5th visit.
The food is remarkable - a bit pricey but worth it. Love the service - love the boards - love the fact that you can make a reservation.
The white shrimp as an appetizer was outstanding as well as the tomato/peach salad and the squid ink pasta with clams!
This is one of our Portland faves; we take out-of-towners here to show off our adopted city. The “tasting menu” was a nice touch, added since our last visit. The service and food were superior, as always.
We love it and have been there many times – as part of our Oregon Symphony dinner & music combo.Sad that Southpark dropped the Black Cod dish from the menu. Hope this is only a seasonal change.
Southpark Seafood was just what we were looking for during our first visit to Portland -- fresh tasty oysters on the half shell and other seafood treats. The server was knowledgeable and friendly, and the restaurant design was very open and pleasant, but it's all about the food.
Great selection on the menu. Outstanding service. Everyone in our party thought their food was delicious. I would highly recommend it.
The food and service were excellent, as always. And staff was aware of, and accommodated, my party’s time constraints due to an event we were attending after dinner. The only negative is that it was quite noisy for conversation in the upper dining room.
Very slow service and mix up when we tried to pick up our desserts after our evening event. No apologies from the staff ... just excuses. Disappointing.
Being out of town we chose this restaurant because of the five star reviews
food was excellent, prepared well and presented equally so
It was the lack of service that drove the final score down and would seriously hamper us to return
First of all we were offered bread in the beginning of the meal and it didn’t arrive until the appetizers were served and ONLY after we asked for it ourselves
appetizers arrived nearly 25 minutes after we sat down while the
restaurant was nearly empty
Our main courses arrived during the consumption of appetizers and when we question the timing and the fact the food will be cold by the time we finish, the waiter argued with us to the contrary (?!?!?!)
Great seafood as always - beautiful smoked salmon, fresh clam chowder, halibut and so on.
Definitely my fav spot in Portland!!
