   We had an outstanding experience dinning at Southern Prime. Everything we ordered was delectable, the chef exceeded all expectations. Our server Christy was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable, and a joy to be around. We wanted for nothing with Christy around. We wholeheartedly recommend Southern Prime to all looking for exceptional dinning.

   The atmosphere was really nice. However, for the prices I would have expected seasoned, delicious food and we did not receive that. The purpose was to celebrate my husband's birthday at a local restaurant since the weather was not conducive to driving long distance. This was our first and last time at Southern Prime steakhouse in Southern Pines, NC.

   Lobster Rangoon for the appetizer, delicious. We tried the scallops, the 14oz ribeye, and the 6oz filet. Tender, seasoned and melt in your mouth. Brussel sprouts and the lobster mac and cheese for the sides, a huge hit. So flavorful. Cannot wait to go back to Southern Prime.

    Old-style steakhouse with Golf Motif. Not like the chains. Chef came out to see how we liked the appetizer: cheese bacon-wrapped Shrimp with a sauce with a kick. It was fantastic. Mt date had steak, which she loved, and I had the special Halibut. Mixed drinks were perfect. Service was over the top. This is a practice I am finding more and more, so it is not just here> Restaurants are marking up their wines entirely too much. The bottles were 20 % more than they should have been

    Birthday celebration for twin daughters 29th birthday. Table was ready when we arrived 10 minutes early and decorated with confetti. Drinks were great, appetizers were wonderful and entrees delicious. Service was impeccable! Our server was Amber G and she treated us so well! Desserts were fabulous and the birthday girls received complementary lava cakes and we even received photos of the occasion. The Chef and Manager visited our table too. It was a very special experience. Thanks for the memories!!

    Southern Prime is my favorite Sunday Brunch spot in this area. The food is always delicious and reasonably priced. The service is friendly, professional and perfectly timed (not too fast, not too slow). The ambience is elegant romantic, but casual enough. Love this place!

    I have mixed emotions about the place. First. they called again to confirm reservations (after I had already confirmed via text/email), and my fiancé seen them calling my phone (ruined the Valentine’s Day surprise). Next, we were notified that we would be dining in the bar area, after I booked for a table. Being understanding, I agreed because we had driven 1hr to come dine with them. I’m going to be honest, DO NOT dine in the bar area if you want somewhat of a romantic dinner (only option given). We literally watched a lady become so intoxicated she couldn’t even sit up in her chair 🤣. Where we sat, there was so much traffic back and forth people literally were bumping into our table, chairs, as they passed by. The bar area is super loud ( yes its a bar), we could barely have a conversation while we sat. People( customers and employees) would literally go to the door leading to outdoor patio area and stand with the door open. This means you would get a nice cold breeze up your dress, and pants that would chill your soul. Thankfully they finally closed it, because you just knew your clothes would be filled with cigarette smoke. So you know you’d smell like a cigarette butt at the end of the date. Next thing is, our waitress. She was ok. Maybe if we were in the dining area, she wouldn’t have forgotten us as much. She literally got into an argument with management right near our table and was speaking about there being 30 customers screaming their needs at them. We heard the manager tell her to clock out and go home. So we were waitress-less for awhile, until someone seen us sitting there looking lost as a bitty in high grass. Finally, the food. Let me tell you, the food is the only thing that saved them. My 45 day aged steak ($64) and her filet mignon was delicious. The lobster rangoon’s were amazing, the asparagus hollandaise, and mashed potatoes were amazing. Honestly based off of our first experience, the food would be the only reasons we’d ever come back.

    The staff, the food, the ambience and cocktails were all First Class. And the price is competitive with other similar steakhouses. The cocktails were particularly well prepared, martinis with slivers of ice makes a fine drink even finer. We have visited this restaurant before and it never disappoints..and even driving an hour+ away, its well worth the drive. Highly recommend this restaurant for a superb evening of elegance.

    I want to preface this with the fact that our trip was on Valentine’s Day, and for that reason I’m open to trying again at some point. First off we made reservations here as opposed to our other favorite spots because they were not advertising a pre fixe menu, turns out it was pre fixe. Again, not a big deal but had we known we likely would have selected elsewhere to go. The restaurant itself has an elegant, upscale ambiance which set the expectations high. Haley, our server seemed new. We got bread and bar drinks before water touched the table. I saw other tables receive the type of quick attentive service I’d expect from an esteemed establishment, that just wasn’t our experience. The wife and I both got Filets and while the meat was quality and they were cooked to the proper temperature, they didn’t have much seasoning or flavor. The additions to the steak made up for the lack of flavor but I’m not sure I would have eaten the steak otherwise. I will try it once more on a non occasion, however I won’t be coming back to celebrate any events.

    Service was really good. Scallop dish was well done and a good value. Quite enjoyable. Steak, although cooked exactly as ordered, was average. Value wasn't as great as the scallop dish. Would likely return, however would shy away from ordering a steak again. Drink were wall made and timely. I would recommend with the above caveats.

    We have dined here for dinner multiple times and it was always nice. I was surprised to see they have a nice brunch menu. Their Sunday brunch was wonderful! Menu and service were great. Shame on us for not realizing this would be a fabulous brunch spot earlier. The omelets were wonderful.

    This was our first date in 16 months since having our first child and it was amazing! The waitress was spot on with the wine choice and my miso salad and steak was a 12/10. My husband ordered his salmon “cooked light” and it was still over cooked and dry. I loved my meal.. I just wished his experience was a bit better.

    Overall we enjoyed our evening and meal. The noise level inside the restaurant made it hard to carry in much of a conversation amongst our party. But we would definitely return again as the food and quality of service were top notch

    Perfect evening! The food was great, service was amazing. We had an 8:30 reservation, promptly seated and addressed. It was my husband’s birthday and everyone made him feel special. We ordered a bottle of wine with the appetizer and soup and another with dinner - they sealed up our leftover wine so we could take it home for later. Cassie was fantastic and took great care of us, we will absolutely be back. Thank you!

    This was our first time at Southern Prime and it met all and more of my expectations. The food was amazing and came out in no time! The wine room was the perfect place for a romantic dinner. It was my birthday and I received a complimentary Lava Cake, which was delicious. No complaints about this location what so ever. If you’re looking for an upscale romantic dinner location, Southern Prime is the perfect spot!
