   This is a fine upscale restaurant. The ambiance is lovely and we had a quiet dining experience. We both had a small fillet mignon and it was the best steak we had ever eaten. The service was friendly, and informative and with just the right amount of attention. We highly recommend this restaurant for fine dining.

   Out of town guests very impressed with ambience and menu. Scallops and steak fabulous as usual, with very tasty halibut special and peach cobbler. Knowledgeable and professional wait staff handled uncorking our bottle of wine nicely (and very reasonable $20 corkage fee). Always a very nice night out.

   Fantastic location to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The ambiance of the restaurant exceeded my expectations and the service was exceptional. The restaurant had our reservation and set up a table for two and sprinkled small heart confetti on the table in preparation for our arrival. The entire staff took time to wish us a happy anniversary and they even gave us a complimentary lava cake to finish off our meal. I would highly recommend Southern Prime to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion.

    We moved to Southern Pines 2 years ago and have not had a chance to experience Southern Prime. I had 3 Australian friends in town last night, and Southern Prime was one of the few options for dining on a Monday. What a most pleasant experience, and my globe trotting Aussie friends were very impressed. My wife's question "How have we missed coming here?" so we will definitely be back. Easy reservation using Open Table, wonderful atmosphere, attentive service and excellent food, summed up by one friend declaring "best cobbler ever!" Looking forward to returning for another Southern Prime experience.

    excellent service from start to finish. oyster special the best part of the meal. filet for my wife good, not great, my scallops a bit overcooked. complimentary dessert for my wife’s birthday appreciated.

    Not happen with the kitchen. The steaks were under cooked and had not been rested. Very unappetizing bloody juices on the plate. The waitress was friendly and efficient

    I booked reservations for Sunday BRUNCH, and low and behold they had a set Mother’s Day DINNER menu! I love their food none the less, but I wish this would’ve been portrayed when booking. None of us were quite in the mood for a steak at 1 PM.

    Disappointed...got pork chop..the black eyed pea/sweet potato mix was extremy salty and mush. I was not able to eat. Got side of asparagus..extremely thin with no taste..my Mom agreed. Husband's filet mignon little taste. We took both our Moms and were somewhat embarrassed.

    The food was very lackluster, the Caesar salad was drenched in dressing and also was not made aware of anchovies would be on the salad. Our french onion soup had very little taste at all. The ribeye had a very off flavoring to it and baked potato was hard as a rock, the vegetable medley looked like a stir fry vegetable, very odd for a steakhouse. The steaks were both undercooked.     Birthday celebration with my family. Although the restaurant was not busy, we were unfortunately placed very close to a group of 8 chatty older women who made it difficult for us to have a conversation and enjoy our meal. We were the only 2 tables in the large back room so it makes no sense why we were placed so close together.

    Overall the restaurant was good. I got the halibut with a sauce on top, risotto and asparagus. There was no seasoning on the risotto or the asparagus. I was really disappointed. The halibut was seasoned well. Management ending up taking the fish off but I was still pretty surprised that that there was no seasoning on majority of the food. My husband enjoyed his ribeye though!

    Not mad just disappointed. The location is nice, clean and quiet. The ambience is overall great. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. My husband ordered the dry aged ribeye which is one of their signature steaks (64$) he ordered it medium and it came close to medium well. Therefor I ordered the 6oz sirloin medium and it came back quite bloody. The sides of the market veggies were overcooked and dry, for the price we paid this was almost unacceptable. We got asked if we liked our food and my husband only complained about the steak since it was pricy. The (I assume) manager told us he will „do something about it“ but we never saw him back at the table and the bill had the original prices on it (no discounts). Our bill was 200$ plus tip, the service was great no complaints but we have been there two times and for sure won’t be back.
