Everything was well prepared. The fried chicken and fried pickles were both delicious. Food came out really fast. Not a place where you linger.

So when I checked in they said my reservation was only for 5. But clearly from the email I received from open table said 6. So I think they need to pay more attention to detail when it comes to people making reservations . This not a good way to start your customer service when it's wrong.

Thanks

Great variety, hefty portions, and everything was really tasty. Loved the ability to sub sides too -- can't wait to come back and get those cheesy grits again! Banana pudding was also a big hit. The locals in our group vowed to return soon; the tourists were pleased to find such great Southern Hospitality in the midst of the Rockies.

We have been to Southern Hospitality a half dozen times since it opened. Each time our experience has been good even the one time we had a toddler along with us. Service is good, prices are reasonable and food is good.

The dry spare ribs were, hands down, the best I've had in Denver. The brisket was quite tasty but it was bit grey and has that somewhat pasty texture created by sitting in a steam table for too long. The fries were the wide, flat "steakhouse style" fries and left a bit to be desired (cool and a bit floppy).

Overall, we very much enjoyed ourselves and I would definitely recommend giving it a shot.

Was looking forward to trying SH for brunch... The food was pretty good the mimosas were ALL orange juice! When we asked for more champagne in them, they brought us a bottle and charged us an additional 20 bucks! Keep in mind, the mimosas were bottomless... Not recommended!

From start to finish, it was a great dining experience for Brunch. Leah, our server, was friendly, gave good recommendations, was efficient and fast. From the peaches with waffles to the Texas Platter and the bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's, everything was delicious.

The Bourbon bread pudding was enormous and was enough to feed five. Will be coming back again!!

nice little spot with a nice bar and good but small menu. everyone should be able to find what they like and find some new items to try from some traditional southern foods to some little known items to try!

Very disappointed - food was not that good. Need to cut down the portion size and up the quality and taste.
Sat at table for 15 minutes before a wait person showed up.

Food was bland. Portion sizes were huge, but lots of fat on the meat, so we left quite a bit on the plate. Had been here one time before several months ago and remember the food being much better. Seems to have declined.

Some of the best barbecue around. Try the fried green tomatoes appetizer with bbq ranch dipping sauce. A bourbon list as long as your arm too? Justin Timberlake should be proud.

If you like southern style cooking (ie deep fried), then you should definitely check out Southern Hospitality. The fried green tomatoes were awesome and I loved my catfish. However, they need to work on the BBQ just a bit. A dining companion had the ribs and while they were good, they were NOT fall-off-the-bone. You gotta have fall off the bone ribs!! We had a new-ish waitress (she informed us that she just got done with training) and she was wonderful. Not yet jaded and perfectly happy to be waiting on us. Overall, the food is pretty tasty, our waitress was amazing and our evening dinner was memorable.

So the food was good, but not the Southern cooking that I was looking for. I was craving southern cooking, BBQ, mac and cheese in a skillet, cole slaw.. everything. The BBQ was ok, the mac and cheese is pre cooked and then served in a skillet, and the slaw tasted like mayo with no flavoring. But the Bourbon drinks are amazing!!! If you do go here, get a bourbon drink, with an app, like the fried pickles.

I am not saying the food here is bad.. not at all. its just not what I was hoping for.

This place was a great place for my birthday dinner. The fried pickles were ok, I would go with the Brisket Eggrolls! The service was great! The fried chicken was very good along with the white gravy. The mashed potatoes were a little dry and the coleslaw was not near sweet enough to be southern! Great location downtown and great environment.

If you are looking for good bbq this is the place. My wife and I are from the South and love bbq. All of our food came out super fast! A little pricey for bbq, but you pay for it being downtown. We will definitely return and try different menu items.

The food and drinks were amazing. I had the prime rib dip and it was so good. The drinks were delish and strong. I will be going back again for date night. My husband had a sampler of fried chicken, ribs, and brisket. It was great and the portion was so big that he couldn't finish it. A rare thing! We also had fried green tomatoes. Delish! I would definately recommend this restaurant.

As a Kansas City BBQ die hard, it is hard to digest other regions BBQ. It wasn't terrible, but not fantastic either. Our server seemed as if she had other things that were more important than serving our table, which seemed funny as the place is called Southern Hospitality. The place was ridiculously loud. They seated everyone in one corner, including a large table of about 12 people, while the other half of the restaurant was empty. The atmosphere really didn't make any sense to me. It was like a blend of roadhouse and dive bar, only with much higher prices. I'm sure there is much better BBQ in Denver.

Went there to watch the first half of the Broncos with three friends. I had the Peaches and Waffles! Wow! This would be perfect for their dessert menu and I told the manager so. My friends all loved their meals too, Chicken and biscuits, hash, and eggs benedict. We go there often actually for dinner. Thanks again guys!

Took the family (of four) to Southern Hospitality on a Saturday evening and was sat downstairs...at the bottom of the stairwell. The food was good but the high traffic spot we were sat in made for a lot of distractions. The downstairs area filled up with a couple large parties and got really, really loud. My advice would be to sit in the more attractive, inviting and quieter upstairs to get the most enjoyment out of this place. The Brisket, Fried Chicken and kids Chicken tenders were great. The Beale Street Chicken was dry...according to the wife. Desserts, Pecan Pie and Peach Crisp, were delicious.

We had to change our reservation so we called the restaurant, the online wouldn't let us keep the same time. We have used open table for reservation in Las Vegas. Nice service. Thanks.

I've been to Southern Hospitality on the weekend, and had an amazing experience. But this week I took 2 friends to dinner on a week night, and was very disappointed. Although our waiter was nice and efficient, the rest of the staff was unfriendly and seemed to be annoyed that customers were there. The beef brisket platter was recommended, but my friend couldn't eat most of it because it was so fatty. The bread on my sandwich was hard as a rock. I could not cut it even with my steak knife. I also raved about the cheddar grits to my friends, but they were cold, stiff and bland on this night. Overall, it was a disappointment experience and this bad first impression for my two friends has turned them off completely.

Our party of four enjoyed the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken and mashed potatoes, fried chicken and waffles, fried catfish, and banana pudding. The food was outstanding, particularly the banana pudding, which was topped with caramelized bananas. That being said, our server was really inattentive. I wouldn't let it stop me from going back, but I would certainly hope for better service next time around.

Four adults on a Tuesday night (October 3rd) to celebrate a birthday....we all got the gift of GREAT BBQ (Brisket, Baby Back and Spare Ribs, Pulled Chicken) - so unbelievably great that said four adults, took food photos at the table and texted-out, and the next day emails and texts were flying to recap how great the food and service was.

Plans in the works to go back and bring others. SH is now on our frequent list for out of town guests as well as our local crew!
