The food was awesome but it took a long time for the food to arrive. However, totally worth the wait. Of course I will come back again
I gave it one star because the information on the website was incorrect. My family and I had visited at 2:30pm on Saturday and when we got there brunch was the only thing available. The website states that brunch ends at 2 so we were expecting to eat lunch type entrees. Unfortunately if we wanted lunch items we had to wait until 3pm and that only had limited items available. Although the waitress we had was nice I did not care for the other workers as they saw me standing at the podium waiting to be seated. They continued with their conversation and drinking beverages. The young lady who waited on us had to come from the back where it appeared she she had been washing dishes. Some of my family members agreed to go back at a later time during the evening. I hope that trip will prove successful.
Waited an hour and 45 minutes for our entrees which were sandwhiches. A grilled cheese doesn’t take 1 hour and 45 minutes. Very disappointed. Have been there before but after this visit I highly doubt I will return.
We visited SCK for Easter Sunday brunch. Even though we were a bit early, our table was ready and waiting for us. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly and saw to our every need. The food was delish and we even made room to share a dessert.
This was my second trip to SCK and certainly not my last! I will highly recommend to everyone.
Spinach quinoa bland.
Pecan tart home run!
Service just ok.
Solid comfort food in a relaxed, casual atmosphere.;
Parade Day in Conshohocken. Apparently restaurant was slammed, so despite a reservation we were stuffed upstairs. Hostess said it was the only table available. Then the bagpipes and drums surrounded us. Our waitress then offered us to move downstairs.
We’ve had plenty of great service and good at this location. Last night was a sham. My wine was warm, our server was slammed. He put our appetizer order in wrong, couldn’t get back to table for drinks or dinner order so we left. Two Saturday nights, two Conshy Girl locations. Two strikeouts. Skip this place.
I had a great meal of shrimp and grits....although my wife's fried chicken was over cooked.
The food is great and the atmosphere is lovely. But when you are still eating your starters and the entrees are dropped off getting cold should you hurrying to eat your food, that’s not ok. I’m not looking for fast food so I was disappointed in the speed of service which ranged from that to kind of slow. I would go again because maybe it was a one off but it was disappointing.
My friends and I went for brunch and we had a blast. I got scrambled eggs with a biscuit, grits, and bacon - amazing! Everyone else loved their meals and service was great. Would definitely recommend going for brunch
The food is nice and comfy. The service is great. Every time I have been there I feel special. The waitress are very helpful, and care about their guest.
I will be back again. I had a nice evening.
This is a fabulous fun restaurant. Food is delicious. Great service. We went on an evening a band was playing. So much fun. We were a party of 6 and sat around a piano set as a table. I would highly recommend Southern Cross Kitchen. ENJOY !
Jambalaya with seafood was flavorful, quite delicious! Pan Seared Catfish entree is NOT recommended. Fish was soggy, not seasoned. I pan sear when I cook at home and know the difference. Enjoyed our conversation & service with the bartender/server. This was our first dining experience. Unfortunately, left a bit disappointed.
Was very packed but glad they are busy. Made a reservation and had to wait a bit for drinks. Overall fun and their Manmosa is so good! Should get some more help for Sunday brunch especially with the spring approaching
I was looking forward to dining here because I had heard such wonderful things about the weekend brunch. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience. Service was subpar at best. The food was barely lukewarm. I had ordered the short rib Benedict and the biscuits were burnt on the bottom and rock hard. I will not be returning.
Just came back from down South where I had some grits and other southern cuisine. Still in the mood, and wanting something in Conshohocken, Southern Cross fit the bill. I had the Chicken and Waffles (first time, really!) and it was delicious and big (had to take half home). My hubby had the Eggs Benedict with the short ribs; also a keeper. My son will be moving just a few blocks from there this spring---yay! (not for the move, but I get to eat at Southern Cross more often).
Absolutely fantastic experience - the place is cozy but has a lot of great energy. We went for brunch, and were seated immediately. Coffee was hot and plentiful, and although the food took a long time to come out, it was worth every bit of the wait. We collectively decided that the biscuits were the best either of us had ever had, and the other food was absolutely amazing. Definitely will be back!
The upstairs room we sat in was freezing! It was a cold night but my toes hurt by the end of dinner.
Visited for my sons birthday. Food was tasty. Wait staff was friendly. Manager and hostess were great!
This restaurant was definitely out of the box for us. We loved it! I've been there before with another owner so the décor was not so different. The food was FABULOUS! We had app's of Caesar Salad with cornbread croutons, soup and cheese steak rolls. All were delicious. For dinner we had jambalaya, chicken pot pie and Mac & Chz with bacon. ALL were just awesome! We each took half of our dinner home. We would have loved dessert but just could not fit it in!
Just a note about our Waiter, Willy! He was just so great! He was attentive, gave us ideas and was so kind. I never saw him stop working even setting up the other Server's station. What an asset he is!
We'll be back!
BEST BRUNCH IN TOWN!!!
The chicken & waffler were to due for! It was so nice how they had crayons for the kids.
Great place to take out of towners!
Great brunch choices at Southern Cross Kitchen. Many traditional dishes like shrimp & grits (with an egg since it was brunch), biscuits & gravy & other interesting twists on traditional southern fare. Large, hearty portions with great grits, biscuits and cornbread.
The food would have been good had it not all been ice cold. No server was present to inform about this and we ended up alerting the manager who was very ki
Good food & service. Great place to meet friends. Also went to their New Year's Eve kids countdown which was a great experience for our 8 and 2 year olds to celebrate the New Year.
First visit to Southern Cross. We went for Sunday brunch to celebrate my son's birthday.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We really liked the decor. Our group had mixed opinions on the food. My food was very salty and not very good. My little grandson's pancake was tough and dried out. The 2 people that got the Benedict's - Crab and Short Rib both enjoyed their selection. The menu sounded better than it tasted!
This place has a good vibe, but after waiting over 45 minutes to be seated, and another 35 minutes for our food to come, I was fed up. The food was OK but the potatoes were cold. I would have a hard time recommending this place
Was SO excited to finally go to Sunday brunch at southern cross. The drinks were GREAT but the food could have been better (and hotter ) will give it a second chance. Our waitress Gabriella made our experience a good one !
We had a wonderful experience. We will return for brunch!
Went for Sunday brunch, place was very busy when we arrived and waiter clearly seemed overwhelmed. Had a reservation. Took a while to get drinks and our food ordered. After waiting over half an hour, our waiter explained that there was a large party upstairs that slowed the kitchen down. Ultimately waited over an hour for our food, during which time no one attempted to make our wait more pleasant--no offer of a complimentary drink or appetizer, no visit from manager. When the food came it was mostly good ( chicken and waffles, cheddar grits), though the biscuits were cold and dry. Prices are reasonable and serving sizes are generous, but probably won't go back because of the long wait time and lack of attempt from management to make the wait a little less annoying.
The server was very informative and knew the menu well. Had a great dinner and drinks with friends. My chicken pot pie was ok but the other people I was with said the fried chicken sandwich was great.
Good food, good service. Brunch happy hour! I had the chicken fried chicken and loved it.
The food, service and drinks are always excellent. They always have great specials
First time at Southern Cross. Lovely restaurant, and a pleasant ambiance (except for the conflicting noises from the tv and the house music). The “Cross Burger” was messy to eat but the flavors were on point! The brisket could have been a little more tender but still very tasty. Our server (whose name I forget) was delightful. She was bubbly, well informed, and seemed genuinely interested in our experience. We are looking forward to returning and tasting our way through the rest of the amazing menu!
I recommended this restaurant to friends for a birthday breakfast... It was too crowded, loud and disorganized...but it was the service that was awful! Our waiter was rude, abrupt, slow... we waited 45 minutes for an omelette & 2 orders of french toast which were almost fair. Our waiter asked us if the food was worth waiting for.... haha!!! We really wanted to say Nope!!! He reached across my friend to collect her used paper trash before we were finished. I really felt like he was pushing us out.
I had been to Southern Cross twice before and was pleased but I was embarrassed by the treatment we received and the whole experience.
Great food! Peaches and Brie flat bread delicious!! BBB Tuesday night is a fantastic deal.
Had a 1pm reservation on a Sunday. We went there specifically for a certain item, and then find out that they were doing brunch until 2pm. So we could not get what we went there for. Server was ok but not super pleasant. It definitely wasn’t as good as the last time I was there. Overall disappointed.
Great food and great service. Also were thoughtful regarding my gluten-allergy.
Excellent place for brunch. Skip the mimosa at happy hour, it isn’t worth the $3. The food is hearty and delicious.
Our first time at Southern Cross. Great food and really friendly, attentive waiter. Will dine at Southern Cross again.
The noise level was high because of Halloween Pub Crawl. Did not bother us at all.
