   The service was very poor. Despite not being very busy, our server completely forgot about our table. It took an hour for everyone in our party to get their drinks and appetizers.

   The mac and cheese with bacon was soooooo good. I would definitely get that again, but maybe a large portion so I could take some home with me. Make sure to get the fried pickles, I've never tried those before. They were delicious!

   It was not busy so we could sit wherever we pleased. The waitress was very nice and helpful. We liked the wings for app but the green tomatoes had to be sent back. They were very large and not cooked enough so very tough to cut and eat. We both got a chicken sandwich that was average, not bad or really good. We got beignets which was good. The drinks were okay, not worth $15 though.

   Service was very good. Outside is nice although there were a lot of bumble bees flying around. Not restaurants fault Just a time of year thing. My brisket dish was ok. Wasn’t a big fan of the brisket as it was doused in bbq sauce. I would have preferred the bbq sauce on side. Brisket seemed a little more fatty then normal. As some pieces were more than half all fat. Sides on dish were good. Rest of group liked their lunch. Beer selection good

    My wife had the Brisket Grilled Cheese and I had the Blackened Shrimp Tacos. We were both VERY happy with our selections. The tacos had wonderfully complex flavors. We started with the deviled eggs- oh my goodness…so good! The staff were friendly and attentive. The dining room was comfortable. Overall, it was a delightful experience.

    Love it will definitely be coming back, food was good just wished it was steam hot, was disappointed that you need 3 or more ppl to do the mimosas tower but my bestie and I enjoy our selves, can’t wait to go back

    Visited Southern Cross for brunch with my book club group. We we seated on the 2nd floor at a which was once a beautiful wooden piano! The decor is really warm and inviting. The food was awesome and everyone enjoyed their meals which included the Cobb salad, pancakes, bacon and eggs. The biscuits and jalapeño cornbread were good as well as the fried pickles and the beignet board. Service was excellent despite the restaurant being very busy. Will definitely return

    Food was good, second time I had been there. Was sat at the table right by the hostess stand and was hit by patrons and workers a like. I wasn't sitting anymore in the way than they put me. Highly suggest that table is relocated so your patrons arent hit so often.

    We had a reservation and when we walked in on time, the hostess didn't know where to put us. We were taken upstairs but the only seats were a high table at the piano with guitar/singer next to that table. We asked to be taken back downstairs and were finally seated at a "regular" table. Service was good but our server didn't know the answers to many of the questions we had about the beer or food. She did go and get answers for us. Food was overall good and prices were fair. I had wanted to try Southern Cross for a while as I have past by it many times.

    Love this place! Food and service is consistently excellent and menu offers options that are true “southern comfort” options as well as other options. I live die the deviled egg appetizer and fried pickles. Had the Brussels with apples for the first time, delicious. Cocktails are also first rate, tried their house made bourbon ManhAttan, another home run. I had their Milano salad which is my go-to when I want to eat light along with a side of their homemade cornbread. Hubby had the lobster ravioli and enjoyed every morsel. There was unfortunately a mishap with another customer as we were leaving the restaurant, let’a just say this individual likely overdid it with cocktails or mixing, whatever. You get the idea! This idiot didn’t make it to either the restroom or outside or wherever she was headed and proceeded to shower several other diners, including my husband, with the results of her careless behavior. Certainly not the fault of the restaurant, people should be responsible for their own behavior. It was shame because it took an otherwise enjoyable evening into a very unpleasant one for the diners and restaurant employees who I felt very sorry for. However, to demonstrate what a first class place this is, the manage called us after we got home and profusely apologized for an incident that the restaurant had no control over. He then told us he was comping our meal and crediting our credit card! We Told him that was not necessary and he insisted. Now THAT is a great example Of excellent customer service and why we will continue to visit this excellent establishment. To the customer who had the mishap, hope you show as much class as the restaurant and call them today and apologize for having ruined the evening for many.

    Food was good as always and quick. Service was not very good. Our server was poor, the staff not waiting on our table were better than our server. Drink order was wrong, appetizers showed up were wrong. Second round of drinks never showed to bring it over, had to ask someone else to fetch. Not really what you expect here. The table next to us actually had to ask after 20 minutes of waiting to get Served. I know employee talent is thin, but your lacking here.

    Food is great! But they only do happy hour at the bar and beer prices aren’t in the menu, but their service is outstanding, we arrived early and they accommodated us quickly in the table even tho the rest of the party was really late, very patient and understanding of the situation.

    My husband and I were on a date and we decided to give this place a try just based off of the menu. I was a tad bit irritated at first because we made a reservation and still had to wait a bit before being seated. When we were seated the waitress came up to us almost immediately we didn’t sit long. Food came out pretty quickly also. We had the deviled eggs which were good, shrimp tacos and the cheesesteak rolls which were my favorite. My entree was the Cajun chicken penne which was just okay. More sauce and chicken than noodles. The waitress was very nice, she just didn’t come over to our table as often as we feel like she should’ve. Overall I’d say 3 1/2, 4 stars. I don’t feel as though the prices are necessarily worth it so I may be back not sure.

    My dining partner and I enjoyed delicious food and excellent service from a server who let us now at the end of the meal that it was the server's first day. We never would have known. They did a great job so the training must be good. I've dined here many times and the ambience is always fun. A guitarist/singer entertained with mellow music at a moderate level so we could hear ourselves talk. We were seated and served promptly. Great Southern style food. Portions are just right. My salmon entrée was very tasty and cooked just right. One thing to note, the fried pickles are very salty as pickles tend to be! I also like that they offer wine from a local winery on the wine list. Drink local!

    Food was pretty good.. wish it was a bit more appealing for kids. My little one didn’t care for the Smokey taste to the mac and cheese. Our server was friendly, however we weren’t offered dessert and was given the check. I had to say something for her to tell us. The table next to us was asked if they wanted dessert when they finished. It made me feel a certain type of way. Overall, decent place.

    Always a good brunch spot. They have a large variety and the atmosphere is nice to dine in. The staff is always attentive and make sure that guests are enjoying their experience. Get the mimosa tower!

    We had a reservation for 2:00 pm for a party of 9. We called ahead at 12:30 and asked if it was possible to come in a little early and host told us that was fine. We arrived at the restaurant at 1:30 and was told our table wouldn't be ready for another 25 minutes. We questioned why we were told we could arrive early and the host said he misunderstood our call and thought we were going to be late. I thought that was strange but we were hungry and decided to wait. Food was excellent. Portions were large and food was fresh and hot. Service was good and food and drinks came out quickly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for southern cuisine.

    Stopped by for business lunch with some people from Europe to give them a unique taste of the US and it did not disappoint. Chicken and waffles reallly asumed and satisfied them.

    Apps ordered right away. Entrees ordered 10 min later. Apps came out cold AFTER the entrees so we didn’t eat them. Manager stopped by the table but could have taken care of the app mess up. Food was ok. Service was pretty generic. Nothing special. Waitress did not seem to know very much about the menu. Music was too loud to have regular conversation. .
