The service was very good and we were compted drinks as we waiting quite a while for our food. They did comp drinks without us even complaining. The food was strictly average. This used to be a favorite of ours but I would say the quality of food has gone in the wrong direction. As I said above service with Hostess and waitress went above and beyond. Also, when my husband requested a glass of pinot noir they did not have any in the restaurant.

The food and the rooftop dining was awesome. It was our first trip, but will definitely be back soon. "If you leave there hungry, it's your fault"

Very good food in the heart of Conshy. Took my 96 year old father there for father's day brunch. Was a little worried that he might not like the southern style cooking but he loved it. I had the chicken fried chicken. Probably not the healthiest item on the menu but it tasted great.

The food at Southern Cross is excellent! We loved the seating on the deck - it was a beautiful day and we were there for the brunch. The specials included a chicken fried steak with breakfast potatoes (it was huge and delicious) and a black pepper smoked brisket eggs benedict (they smoked the brisket at the restaurant and you could smell it cooking as you arrived) with grilled asparagus. The food is great!

Outside seating is lovely. However, food was just ok. The grilled cheese was palatable, but, cold at best. And the Jambalaya was a far cry from familiar Cajun cuisine.
Very tasty fried pickles and stiff cocktail were a plus.

Appetizers were off the charts. One was a special, lollipop pork chops, and the other was loaded tater tots. Entres were excellent. Will be back soon.

Service was extremely slow. We were there for 30 minutes before we were able to place our dinner order. We placed an order for a second round of drinks that we cancelled as almost 30 minutes went by and they had not arrived.

The staff was all very friendly and our waitress was particularly helping with picking dishes! The overall vibe of the restaurant is nice and the outdoor seating area was beautiful - especially with the lights and flowers! Best of all, the food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were large! Would definitely recommend.

Had a very good dinner at Southern Cross. Ordered a burger without avocado but got the avocado anyway. The place wasn’t crowded so stress in the kitchen shouldn’t have been an issue. Details are important. Appetizers were excellent; had fried pickles and catfish sliders. On the whole this is a very good eatery.

Overall poor experience. Food is horribly overpriced for what is is. Ordered ravioli with short rib and got 3. 3 ravioli for $22! Server was not the best, overall not great.

My birthday sucked. They don’t care for in house guests and prioritize caviar orders instead. Food was good but the place was empty and I wanted the front table and they would not give it to us and it’s unlikely we will be coming back.

Southern Cross was perfect for the occasion. The waitress was awesome. She was good with the kids and we were given a nice table out of the way with the kids. The food was good and there were options at various price points. Kids eat free here Monday through Wednesday and they also had half price wine for happy hour. To top it all off, there was quizzo starting at 7pm on Wednesday. I thought it was great.

Not sure what I was expecting but I left very disappointed. Nice place, a little small, food and service we're both mediocre to say the least. Nothing seemed freshly made as all my food came out cold to room temperature. Just wasn't pleased at all.

Our online (Open Table) reservation gave us the upstairs "piano" table, which wasn't good at all for conversation. Food and service were quite good, but we recommend calling for a reservation and asking for a regular table. We were told it would be at least an hour from a different table.
