South Ridge Seafood Ratings and Reviews
We ordered the mussels which were flavored very well in a tai coconut sauce. The biscuits with honey butter were great. Their featured soup was the Tom yum, which was very mild but good. The New England style clam chowder was excellent. Lastly, the beet salad was underwhelming and needs a bit of work.
An excellent meal for our family board meeting. We had a reservation for 6 at 7:00. Our table was ready and waiting. We had wine, appetizers, a wonderful meal and dessert. I recommend the seared sea scallops highly. Thanks again for a wonderful experience up in Breckenridge!
It was our 1st time at South Ridge Seafood and were delighted. The food was fantastic and the presentation was great. The staff were knowledgeable about the history of the restaurant. And so very friendly and helpful. I walk with a cane and they were wonderful at helping around and even helped with the shuttle. Fun evening for my husband and myself.
We ate at South Ridge Seafood our first night in Breckenridge. We were seated immediately at an open booth and greeted by our waiter David. After he answered several questions, I began with a Dry Dock Apricot Blonde craft beer from Colorado that was part of the rotational Bar Tap recommended by David. I also ordered the P.E.I. mussels that were bathed in a Thai curry coconut sauce. Although a bit spicy for my liking, I ultimately enjoyed the appetizer because of the delicious mussels. My wife enjoyed a wonderful green salad with apples covered in a delicious honey champagne vinaigrette dressing. We then moved on to two outstanding entrees. My wife enjoyed a special chicken scallopini which were accompanied by three delicious ricotta ravioli in addition to asparagus and grilled red peppers. I enjoyed an amazing pan-seared Rocky Mountain trout which had a shrimp bacon potato hash and broccolini. Our first dinner on this Colorado adventure was a wonderful experience and we recommend the South Ridge Seafood for all Breckenridge visitors.
When we walked in we asked for a booth and was told it was not available. Then after we were seated at a table a different person seated the next couple and asked if they wanted a booth or table. So that was disappointing. We both ordered a seafood entre and though they sounded good on the menu, they did not really taste great. I ordered the "Grilled Market Fish" with cilantro-coconut risotto cakes, snow peas, gulf shrimp, tom yum broth. There was so much broth that the risotto cakes were so soggy! The shrimp looked and tasted like frozen shrimp that was just thawed and thrown in the dish. No flavor. My husband order the trout with potato-bacon shrimp hash. The hash sounded good but it really was pretty plain and contained the same shrimp that I had in my dish (tasted like frozen shrimp with no seasoning). It was a bit disappointing.
Research guided us here and the outstanding menu and great waiter Adam will bring us back. Loved the trout and halibut. Enjoyed calamari , soup and trout dip as starters. We felt like special guests from the moment we arrived with a reservation, it was a busy Sat. night until we left. Well paced and none of the all too common response of "no problem whatsoever" when a request is made.
We can't wait to return.
First visit to this restaurant, but won't be the last. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our table. Most tables on ground floor were already reserved, so suggest reservations. Our server, Connor, was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about area and menu. My halibut was prepared perfectly over coconut, cilantro risotto cake. Husband had seared Ahi presented beautifully, also. They gave us our choice of free dessert to celebrate anniversary. Easy to find this new location on the main street. Noticed large patio upstairs that had gorgeous views of the mountains. Loved it!
Our 2nd visit to South Ridge Seafood Grill this summer. The menu options were so creative and enticing we had to return. The smoked trout dip is outstanding, beet salad - super flavorful, mussels were delish with slight kick !! All the entrees are perfectly prepared. Great atmosphere, service is "spot on".
Food was excellent, definitely the strong suit for this restaurant. Was a rainy evening when we were there so the upper deck was closed. We were seated just inside the front door so ambiance was poor due to constant foot traffic and hostess interactions with everyone entering.
Earlier reports of poor service did not happen with us. Our waiter was very cordial and attentive. We managed to get happy hour prices for appetizers, so overall price was not unreasonable for good quality kitchen. We will go again.
Jay was so interesting and knowledgeable of the food with wonder explanations making us very comfortable and relaxed to enjoy the wonder food. We had the steak and ribeye
Both very yummy. The escargot and cheese appetizers were amazing .
Worth the $ you pay for what you get :)
Thank you 😊
The trout was excellent! My husband especially liked the potatoes with bacon and shrimp. The waitor could have been a little more attentive. Make sure you ask for the biscuits, we didn't notice them on the menu but the table next to us asked for bread and their waitress suggested them. Skip the salad option., too costly at $10. If we had know about the biscuits we would have ordered that for the first course. Over all, we"ll go back.
Who would think that the best restaurant in the mountains of Colorado would feature seafood?! Always our favorite, this was our first time at the new location. Nice light space, great service and delicious, creative food. Loved the mussels, scallops, tuna and market special fish all with an asian influence.
Came here for a family dinner while on vacation with our dogs. We picked this place based on reviews. At first, it wasn't easy to locate. It looked small from the outside, but spacious inside. We started with the shrimp cocktail and fresh oysters and had the red trout and scalopini for our main course. All were great! The service was outstanding as well. We dined on their patio which provided a scenic view and great place to people watch.
Food was good, service was horrendous. Had reservations for dinner on a Friday. Showed up a little early and got seated right away. Restaurant was not at capacity. Hostess was friendly.
Waited 24 minutes after sitting down before the server even took our order. Server didn't explain the menu or tell us what the fish of the day was. Only checked in after we mentioned the slow service to him.
Drinks were bad - iced tea had no ice, sweetener wasn't offered. My husband's $12 old fashioned wasn't made correctly (crushed ice, not an old fashioned glass, lemon wedge instead of a twist, limited bar choices for liquor - only one kind of bourbon). Never received complimentary bread (all other tables had it). Husband didn't have a knife at his place setting.
The red trout entree was really good. Beet salad was also great.
Wouldn't go back. For a $76 dinner, didn't feel like we got what we paid for. With many other nice (and equally pricey) restaurants in Breck, we won't be back.
