South Main Kitchen is a unique dining experience. Great for a special occasion.
Waitor could have been more attentive
Had a great time. Food was amazing as always. Only problem is we had a reservation for 6:30, and did not get seated until 7pm. It was fine with us because we did not have a time frame - we just had a drink and relaxed. Manager did comp our drinks for the wait. Great experience.
The food was horrendous... will NEVER GO BACK!! it was cute inside..
Birthday dinner - great food, great service! Just a bit loud in the inside dining space.
Forgot the bacon on the breakfast sandwich, but they made it right. Nd comped the sandwich
Nice job 😀
had an outstanding meal on Saturday the 15th. food, vibe, service all excellent. second time visiting smk. will be back for sure. bartenders make excellent old fashions!!! too good.
As usual, food was delicious!! South Main delivers again.. only complaint was the Portion size on my Salmon was not very large at all for the price.. but, I want to emphasize that the food tasted great!!
Father’s Day- great meal
Chef and wait staff were awesome and the Apps and pork chop were cool to perfection really enjoyed the evening
Delicious as always, one of our favorite restaurants.. only a few critiques, some of our food was cold, the scallops were over done, I was told it was between 4-5 scallops for 36$ and only got 3, and they keep taking some of their best dishes off the menu, pork tacos, pork shoulder and changed a few signature dishes
Keep what’s good please 😊
Experience was just okay, and the food was just okay as well. We found the prices to be kind of pricey. There were 4 adults for brunch with 1 mimosas and 1 other alcoholic drink. Bill was $88.00 and that didn’t include tip. Nothing out of the ordinary ordered for brunch. There’s also a lot of other restaurants in the same area competing for your dollars. We probably won’t return.
We've never been disappointed in ANYTHING at South Main Kitchen. Our waitperson was stellar with great suggestions and very attentive. The redfish for two is one of the best ever. The chef knows his dishes and the menu is not overwhelming. Just right!
Drinks were watered down, chairs for seating EXTREMELY uncomfortable, designed to turn tables quickly, not relax. Average price points for a nice atmosphere, pork dish was fatty.
Our server and our food were fine. However, there seemed to be some confusion regarding the number in our party. The restaurant had us down for 2 people, when our actual reservation was for a party of 5. They insisted that our reservation was for only two people, and seemed very annoyed that there were more people in our party than they had expected. They seemed hesitant to seat us at all, and I finally had to show them my reservation which proved that I had made the reservation for 5...The two hostesses were rude, and continued to whisper to one another as they stared at us after we were seated. We were made to feel unwelcome from the start, because of an error on their end. We won’t be back.
Service was good but very slow. Seating was a bit uncomfortable and a little loud for a business meal.
Great server (working on his birthday, Thursday)! Knowledgeable, friendly, responsive. Food was delicious, loved the grain bowl with chicken!
So Main Kitchen is so consistently delicious and fresh and enjoyable!
But to put main entrees on a menu and have them only be available until they run out, is not main menu worthy. They need to be called specials instead.
Not bad for a bar drink. The ambiance wasn't what I expected and it was pretty empty, but the food was good and the staff was great.
What a charming restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere and wonderful service. Our food was delicious. All the choices sounded great; it was difficult to choose. We visited for dinner. Will try their lunch menu next time.
Not sure where to begin. Worst Mother’s Day meal ever
Chick too tough. Salmon over cooked. Pasta dish too expensive for the amount served.
We received a disconnected and inattentive waiter. Yes we had an 8:30pm reservation but when customers are dining and staff starts to shut things down gathering the salt and pepper shakers all around you it just makes you feel that the priority is to get people out so everyone can go home
To my point we were not even offered desert.
We will not be back.
On a positive note they look like they have a great bar and drink options
Good ambiance, our waiter Brian was awesome and super funny! Hung out with my girlfriend for Mother's Day and had a wonderful time. Food was really good and their collards were great!
It was okay. Waiter was slow. Portions were small for the price. My son got a $18 omelette that was the size of my fist, plated with “greens”. Not very filling, not very flavorful which is disappointing because I usually love this place.
The Springer Farm chicken was barely larger than a chicken wing...and two carrots on the side...more like an appetizer than a dinner serving...and pretty pricey as well.
The brussel sprouts come with sesame seeds scattered all over them, yet the menu description fails to describe them as such. Tree nuts are throughout the menu which makes the selection all the more limited for diners who have sensitivities/allergies to those items.
We go often for Sunday brunch. Inside can get a little loud, but not too bad. The food is chef driven and wonderful. Sauces and jams are made in-house. Not your typical brunch, so please review the menu prior, but food is excellent.
Love the Brussel sprouts!
Everything we ordered was delicious! And, the service was exceptional. Highly recommended.
Our waitress was fantastic and the food was delicious! We were there for brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday and could not have been happier with our choice. We loved the strawberry rhubarb strudel! Will be back!
Overall very good. A little loud.
NC trout was abit dry and could have used more flavor. Pork was tender and hangar steak was fine
I was kind of perturbed when told the opening time... it changed twice. The hostess made good on her end by making sure my first round of drinks were on the house. Definitely a hidden gem in downtown Alpharetta. Every dish we had was top notch. The trout was unreal good. I got one to go it was so good. DEFINITELY will be back for another experience.
Four of us and a 1 year old. Food, drinks and attention was perfect as usual. I had steak special. They do a good a job on steak as anyplace. SMK is our go to.
We are huge fans of Butcher and Brew their sister restaurant next door so we couldn't wait to eat there! We had a reservation for Easter brunch and it did not disappoint . Cocktails were refreshing, food was tasty and service was wonderful. We will be back !
Overall, the ambiance and service are great. The food was "just okay" considering the price you pay for each dish. I had the chicken which a little bland and dry. My wife had the mushroom pasta which was good, but nothing spectacular.
This is a very crowded place with tables close together and noise level very high. We made a reservation and the table they had for us was small and right in the middle of the restaurant. We ended up sitting out on the enclosed porch which was much quieter. It was an unseasonably cold evening but the heaters worked well so we were comfortable. Everyone who served us made an effort to make sure we were happy so that was a positive. But our meals came out so fast, we were only halfway through our starters., a clear negative for me at a high priced restaurant. We felt pretty rushed until it was time for our check. That took unacceptably long. We had the trout which was good but not remarkable. A bit bland and I definitely expected more. Overall, we were disappointed. We felt this restaurant was over priced and more focused on complicated menu items than serving really tasty food.
Great overall experience. Food was great, staff was excellent. A large party was waiting on our table so the manager provided us with an option to move to the bar and he would buy us a round. Asked very politely and could not have been nicer. Only knock would be that the drinks are a bit overpriced but would definitely go again.
Food portions in comparison to the prices were a little off - my wife got 3 scallops on her main and I got a sad little taste of pork shoulder. The mains were also a little under seasoned.
Given how hard it is to park in this area, I'm not sure I'll be back.
We love South Main Kitchen's Sunday brunch. The service is good and we really like the food, but miss some of the items on the previous menu like the Gumbo. Their cheeseburgers and breakfast potatoes are amazing. Love to see some salmon added to the brunch menu.
Great service and great food at an unpretentious restaurant. The Brussel sprouts and salmon over lentils were wonderful.
