Birthday great food-great service
Excellent evening in a cool space. Great location. Very good food and cocktails. We will return!
Excellent spot for a date night! The service was excellent. The hostess was very nice. She asked our preference for indoor or patio and then and seated us immediately. Our server was also very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! The Brussels Sprouts were a perfect starter. We will be back!
Had Sunday brunch. I had the breakfast sandwich which was delicious. I would ask for extra bacon if I go back.
Redfish good. Was able to switch out sides sweet potato fries were delicious.
looking forward to my next opportunity to eat here again
Really enjoyed the food at South Main Kitchen. Service was excellent.
Food was good, but could use a little more seasoning.
Great jazz group made it special.
This was our first visit to South Main Kitchen and I'll definitely go back. Our Friday night reservation was for 6pm. We got a friendly greeting from the host and were seated at a window seat immediately. Downtown Alpharetta was active, so it was very nice. The selection of cocktails and spirit was vast and our orders were well made. Both the flatbread and Brussel sprout apps were delicious. Our server was wonderful. She made great entrée recommendations. I had an awesome double cut bone in pork chop and the others had hanger steak. We were all very pleased. Everything about the evening was fantastic.
Great food and service for 8 of us. Thank you, Zach! We ate on back patio - weather was perfect.
Great food. Appetizers were awesome!
Overall very good my guest had the Salmon and was really good I had the burger was fair a bit dry...greens very good...when it fills up very hard to have a conversation... that is by design no private seating
I love this place! Lunch, dinner, special events. We’ve had a great experience every time.
Great food and great service. Definitely going back.
That will be our last visit
Great location, soothing atmosphere, wonderful service, but most of all delicious food! Executive Chef Bruno really knows what he is doing.
Server was extremely slow. 1 1/2 hrs for lunch is way too long. I believe she may be new and needs training. She was very nice. I Would like to go back for dinner to experience it and see what the atmosphere is like.
Interesting menu, with lots of ingredients we'd never heard of, like red peas for instance and the waiter told us it's all locally sourced. The brussel sprout starter was great, which I think was due to the comeback sauce. It was really light and you could barely see it, but I think it added a really great flavor. We had the burger and the trout as entrees and both were excellent. Also the outdoor seating in the back was great. We've added this place to our standard restaurant rotation now.
Food and service always great. Noise level always high. Part of the downtown vibe.
Will still keep going.
Don't park at 44 Academy - there's a municipal parking deck nearby. Food took an hour to arrive, and while flavors were good the texture was off - not worth the wait or the price. The dessert pudding was tasty though!
First time going to South Main with my coworkers and they were AWESOME! Got us our food quickly and it was sooooooo good! I loved it! It's sure to become a regular for myself! Thanks so much South Main!
Excellent food and great service. Very receptive to small changes to your order.
We went to celebrate my husband birthday. We sat at the bar and had cocktails before our reservations. The bar tender was very friendly and Informative.
The main course was excellent. I had the scallops over hoppin John. The other was the salmon over roasted vegetables and potatoes.
Great meal and love the area
Great food! Beautiful restaurant and great bar. Hostess could use some pep in their step. We got there 30 mins before out reservation and there were already 3 empty tables. We went and sat at the bar to get some drinks and they never sat us. 20 minutes after our reservation while the tables were still empty one of the girls came over and asked if we had a reservation.
Anniversary dinner. Seated 30 minutes past reservation time. Ordered wine and appetizers which were delivered promptly. Ordered entree’s and an hour later while most of the dining room was empty we still didn’t have our food we decided to ask for the check. Service was good. Got the impression the restaurant was trying to serve too many people. Once we canceled our entree’s we got a big eye roll from a bearded man in front of the kitchen. Anyhow, paid our check received an apology from our waitress, nothing from any management. Anyhow, bad way to spend a dinner out without kids on your anniversary. First time, last time at this establishment.
Went on a second date based on a referral from a friend more familiar with Alpharetta. We had a great meal and a great time. Service was attentive but also not hovering. Had a reservation and the table was ready within about 10 minutes. It can be a bit loud but what restaurant isn't these days but it was fine for a table for two and you could talk and know that you were not being overheard by the table next to you. Recommendations were spot on.
Loved everything about it- probably usual pricing for the Alpharetta area for popular downtown- southern cuisine with a twist...great for before Frampton dining. Special evening!
Date night with friends
The place was so loud- I had to lean in to the person sitting next to me to have a conversation with them. One of the members in our party is a vegan and asked for vegan options- one of which was on their lunch menu- we were told that was not an option and it was only on their lunch menu -not dinner. When asked if they could creat a vegan option utilizing their flatbread recipe they said no. Service was just ok- as our water glasses were constantly empty. Also the pasta wha oh I ordered was just ok -nothing great. We also ordered the stuffed eggs as app- wish the waitress had told us that they would arrive smothered in hot sauce- which was fine for me- but not for the other three people in our party. Disappointing to say the least- and especially after the $185 we spent.
Loved our dinner at South Main Kitchen. Pleasant surprise to find the vast number of bourbon choices! Among the four of us, two had the redfish, one the salmon and one the veggie pasta. Redfish was reportedly delish (although not much shrimp in the etouffee), salmon also got high praise. The veggie pasta was great - light sauce, fresh array of vegetables, plenty filling. We appreciated our server who told us the straight scoop on what to order, giving her honest appraisal of one of the dishes we were considering. In general, service was excellent.
The deviled eggs were pretty good but ask for light hot sauce
Great food and good selection of local beer on tap which is always a plus. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the Brussel sprouts are a must get appetizer! Don’t forget, this area doesn’t have an open container law which is fun for walking around after dinner with a roadie.
Delicious food, a bit expensive. The Brussels sprouts are the worth the hype— they are amazing. I had salmon which was yummy, and my husband had steak which was even better. The prices are a bit high but not unexpectedly so. Really nice date place.
The food was truly exceptional. The ambience leaves a bit to be desired. It was a bit noisy, so we moved to the patio outside. I will definitely be back!
Nice evening on patio
One of our favorite restaurants! The food and service are always excellent.
Great Food and service.
Family & bday
Super expensive!! $212 for 6 people for an average tasting food. And please don’t go by online menu, apparently they have different menus every three months and don’t necessarily update online menu. You would think they definitely can afford to by how much they charge for a meal!!!
