to invite you to try the rustics pies and a nice glass of wine.
What Insiders Are Saying
Real deal Italian pizza at the quiet end of Abbot Kinney - complete with real deal charming Italians.
Love this place! Their food is always so good. Highly recommend the burrata ball & salmon costini as an app. All the pizzas I've tried there have been delicious. My only complaint would be the noise level, it was a touch hard to have a conversation with more than one person.
This is my favorite place for pizza on the Westside! Or any side for that matter. So fresh and delicious. Great sexy vibe.
Mario and Enzo are as authentic as they come! Gluten-free. Yes please. Best GF pie hands done! Trolleyway and the Kinney are my favs! So good!
So much fun! Crowded and noisy with great food. Just a nice vibe. Sat at bar, and had the pleasure of getting our own personal wine tasting before dinner.
Great pizzas, salads and wine!
I've been to The South End twice. Both times I came away thinking this could be my neighborhood hangout!
Best pizza in LA, and their gluten-free crust is pretty unbelievable as is their wine list!
Great! Always delish and free wine while you wait!
Great pizza and wines. Very friendly service. Wine selection superb. Pizza creatively done. Small seating area.
Great menu with incredible pizzas. My only request would be for more comfortable seating and more practical tables. The interior needs to be refreshed to accommodate guests more comfortably. Mind you I did have my infant with me, but even when my husband and I first explored the location when I was pregnant I still found the high top metal chairs uncomfortable.
Super tight fit but also kinda dig that about this place. Pizza was good
Had to wait over 20min for a table regardless of my reservation. Service was awful, it was never clear if we actually had a server or just a busser cleaning tables, so I had no idea who to tip (not that a tip was earned, but I left 15% anyways). Table was so small there was hardly any room for both the food & drinks. The restaurant was so packed that people we're constantly running into us as they walked by. Pizza was decent but overpriced for the small portion sizes. This was my first time dining here, seems to be a very popular place with a cool atmosphere. But I won't go here again.
The food was fantastic but the restaurant is small, cramped and noisy. That said, it’s all worth it for that delicious pizza!
It's a small restaurant with not much seating. They took my reservation for 6 but couldn't seat us for at least 45 min. Luckily we only had 5 people because there would not have been room for a sixth.
Service was a bit off. We had a reservation for 6pm on a Saturday. When we got there we asked to sit at a certain spot but were told they had another (bigger) reservation so we couldn't. A few minutes later, another couple walked in and got seated where we asked to be seated (they were not part of the bigger party). Hmm, weird. We ordered two pizzas- The Cabrilla with added mushrooms, very good and The Kinney but sub vegan cheese. The Kinney came with regular cheese so they kindly took it away and apologized but brought us a regular vegan cheese pizza on gluten free crust... not what we asked for. Too much cheese, crust not very good but my boyfriend ate it (he'll eat anything). We finished, they asked if we wanted anything else, I said we might get another drink and the waiter said "Well, we need the table but you can drink outside or in the back waiting area" ... so I guess we weren't getting another drink. The spot is cool, the Cabrilla pizza was very good so we'll give it another shot and just not order anything with vegan cheese (no cheese instead).
The food was authentic and great for pizza lovers, service however was lacking. I had a reservation and was left waiting in the doorway for 30 minutes while open seats were available. I finally approached a server and asked why I was being ignored, she sat me at a communal table only to move me to a bar counter 5 minutes later. Once I was seated, it took a bit to get the attention of my server to order. Overall, the food was lovely, however service was disappointing. I would like to try it again on a different night, perhaps this was just an off evening?
We arrived on time and were seated an hour after our reservation. When we complained, the host told us any good restaurant in LA would have kept us waiting a long time after our reservation because that’s just the way it works at busy restaurants. They gave us a glass of wine while we waited but that’s not good enough for keeping us waiting an hour and insulting our intelligence. Too bad because the food has always been good here.
Good and service was great. The noise is crazy, though.
Nice casual mellow
South End is always a great experience. The owners and staff are amazing!
Wasn't actually able to eat there. We had a reservation for 2 and when we got there the host said we could be seated in about 20 minutes. Totally disregarded the fact that we had made a reservation and was pretty rude about the whole situation.
Best pizza and wine restaurant in all of Los Angeles. Service can't be beat. Food can't be beat. Wine cannot be beat.
Great place for a glass of wine and a few small bites (enough for a meal!) very knowledgable staff, even let us try several white wines before selecting. Highly recommend for a small group.
SMALL. LOUD. the food was good, but that doesn't make up for the fact that they cram as many people into the spot with communal tables(mostly) on bar stools (not the most comfortable) and then, on top of the noise of the customers dining, they have music going on -- the 4 of us were hoping to catch up over dinner and drinks but that was a joke. We couldn't hear each other from just across the table or even those sitting next to each other....Go, but be warned, you won't be having any sort of conversation during the meal itself. The pizza's are creative and good, good wine selection but seriously just to damn loud!
Friendly service, great food and wine.
One of my favorites!
The Abbot Kinney address throws the navigation apps for a loop. A note on the website or via text from OpenTable that the parking lot and entrance is on the Washington Blvd side might help first time patrons. Circling back from the Abbot Kinney side during rush hour took 15 extra minutes.
The food was good. The service was attentive and very neighborly. Fun wine list. Thanks.
Disappointing experience: some pies were burned and waitress was clearly not enjoying her job. Will not come back.
The food and the service were great. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. The sourdough pizza dough was great! While the menu doesn't say it, they do make GF pizza crusts!
Will definitely come back :-)
Very small restaurant, very loud!! But the food was excellent.
Get vibe greatest pizza on west side but also can order other things so a destination meal for foodies.
Best Pizza and vibe in town!
Loved the food and the vibe! Pizza was outstanding. Wine list great and eclectic.
Service was friendly and fast. This is a great neighborhood restaurant. If you love pizza, theirs are delicious, and so are the salads. Go on the early side for dinner if allergic to loud noise.
Our favorite pizza in LA. Wonderful dark wine bar. Great service.
Best pizza in LA, a neighborhood gem and the staff/service is always amazing.
Our waiter Rob was off the hook fantastic! Tentative, helpful, and kind. Our pizzas and salad were delicious!
Seriously the BEST pizza anywhere. And gluten free options which is epic. Rob the waiter was awesome too! Always a good time there!
Great friendly service at this neighborhood pizzeria & wine bar! The bartender suggested the yummiest sparkling red wine to pair with our pizzas. I'm not an LA local but everytime I come to Venice I make time to come to this special place. The pizza is AMAZING! Really fresh ingredients and a base with just the right amount of crunch. YUM! Strongly recommend the Kinney & the District 11 :)
South End is a cool community gem! Peerlessly friendly staff - we loved our server Sam who recommended two fabulous wines and pointed us to the most delightful pies and apps. Casual, charming, fun and delicious offerings. Feels like you're dining in someone's hip and comfy dining room. Perfect for a date night.
I always read the reviews before I choose a restaurant, but I did not focus enough on the reviews that said VERY LOUD (78db) and TERRIBLE SEATING. We arrived ten minutes before our reserved time and I was surprised to see almost ALL the seating is communal bar seating. There were two open four top tables and I asked to please have one. I was told that they were reserved for parties of five (despite the fact that each table had four stools). My three children and I were seated in an inside corner of the bar seating, which is even worse because my young daughter literally had a grown man seated with his back touching her. She was very uncomfortable the entire meal. The owner proceeded to seat the two four tops with another party of four (young cute women) and the other with a party of three. The table with the young women got a lot of server attention throughout the meal, the gentleman who seemed to be the owner spent time talking to them. My teenagers and I, not so much. Anytime we needed anything from the server it took minutes to flag someone down. The food was ok but not anywhere close to great pizza - if you want great pizza - head to Pizzana or Bottega Louie. They put the scalding hot pizza plate right on the table and despite the fact that they said "very hot" as they set it down, I still ended up burning my arm as there's no place else to put your arms! They give you very small water glasses and a bottle to refill but I had to ask FOUR times during the meal for us to get more water, it was hard to find a server. It's impossible to talk because the people around you are so on top of you, you can't help but overhear and the two people on a date right next to us were having an inappropriate conversation for my children to be a party to. (Not their fault, just terrible squashed seating). What was supposed to be a special birthday celebration was ruined, we could not get out the door fast enough. Will not be back.
