The food was tasty. It seemed like a restaurant that was trying to be fancier than it actually was.
Delicious Southern classic dining. We sat outside so it was noisy with the fans running. I would return.
We met family from out of town had a wonderful meal. Staff was accommodating, food was amazing and our server was absolutely outstanding.
The gluten free or made gluten free options were fantastic! I appreciated the menu items such as the Nashville Hot Catfish that were clearly marked they could be made gluten free.
Great food, drinks and service! Although obviously a busy time (Sunday brunch) we were seated immediately with our reservation.
The food and service are always stellar at South City Kitchen but the outdoor dining was not a great experience. Next time dining room!
My party and myself had an enjoyable time at this facility.
Great service and excellent food!
I enjoyed all of the food, it was very well seasoned and I'm a picky eater. The bread was amazing (and addictive). I would certainly go again, but it's not cheap that's for sure.
W love this location because we live nearby. Always a good time with great food and ambiance.
South City Kitchen has great ambiance and delicious food. It never disappoints!
Food was a step above Cracker Barrel but 3 times the price. I had the Nashville Hot Catfish and it was swiming in Buffalo Wing Sauce...it did not matter what king of fish I was eating, I would have not tasted it.
Great food in a nearby neighborhood location
I"m glad there is a location in Smyrna
Delicious food, great atmosphere snd wonderful service!
Enjoyed my time at South City Kitchen. I will definitely come again.
Service was okay. Our server never refilled our drinks. No attentiveness at all. Food was good.
The food was amazing and the drinks were as well, definitely recommend.
Our server, Linda, was very welcoming, and remembered us from previous visits. Service was great, as usual, and the Assistant Manager talked with us for a few minutes during the meal. Our food was wonderful, as always, and we enjoyed the birthday treat at the end of the meal -- we were celebrating both of our birthdays. As for the dining area, we were impressed with the level of caution and cleanliness exhibited by the staff. And we mean all of the staff, including the Assistant Manager who was also one of the "workers", delivering drinks and food, busing tables, and disinfecting them. Most of the guests were considerate of South City's request to wear masks while moving through the dining area to their seating before removing them. Of course, there were a few customers, including some with children, who "could not be bothered" to wear masks. (They are probably the same people who consider themselves outside those guidelines everywhere they go.) Overall, our visit to South City Kitchen Vinings was very nice, and provided an enjoyable evening.
I came here to celebrate my sister’s bday and we weren’t disappointed! Prompt service & they even worked with us on our reservation time since we were running behind. We started with the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they were really good! I had the Nashville hot catfish & my sister had the fried chicken. I will say that although the fish was tasty, it was NOT reminiscent of “Nashville hot” style so maybe they should change the name. My sisters chicken was moist and delicious. I would definitely come back.
Food was okay. The BBQ shrimp was good. Our pork was cooked medium & very dry. I would’ve loved for them to glaze the pork chop while it was cooking. The Mac & cheese noodles were extremely over cooked- very mushy. The fried chicken was PHENOMENAL. We enjoyed the mashed potatoes as well. The collards need salt and acidity. The collards & Mac & Cheese next door at Muss & Turners are a good example of amazing sides. Probably would not visit again- food wasn’t to die for. My cocktail was okay. Could’ve got a lemonade instead and had the same effect.
We decided to celebrate a friend as she walks into a new chapter of her life. The food was amazing! Many of our guests it was there first times there and they stated they would definitely return. Our server took great care of us and the kitchen didn’t make us wait long. Thank you to the chef and staff for an amazing experience.
The staff at South City are warm and helpful, and the location is convenient. My food was good, but not special. Recognizing that the last year has been extremely hard on restaurants, South City needs a re-fresh.
The waitress kept calling me “honey”. The table was sticky and the waitress said it was from the cleaner. All I know is the menu had to be peeled from the table The food could have been fabulous but it was limited by the inability to substitute things that were food allergies.
I spent $130+ and went home and made dinner.
Our waiter Kevin was amazing! It’s a perfect place for a date night! The food was really good!
The entire experience was simply amazing.
We eat at South City Kitchen occasionally (different locations). We enjoy the food. I ordered the shrimp and grits this time but I didn’t love it. My husband ordered the fried chicken and LOVED IT! The highlight was Kevin our server- top tier, excellent service! We also ordered the she crab soup and it is so good!
Excellent food and service. It was my dad's 79th birthday, and it was his first time eating here, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The fried green tomatoes, crab cake and chicken livers (which I'm not a fan of and actually liked the taste of these),and my dad LOVED. The catfish, fried chicken, shrimp, and pork chop were all delicious, as well. I will definitely be going back!! Oh, and the house made craft cocktails were wonderful too!
We went there on a Thursday night. It was a fast sit-down time, and we were quickly greeted.
Drinks ordered, appetizers, and main course.
Everything was delicious, as expected.
The whiskey flight was average, but unexpected and inexpensive. I'd do that again.
The she crab soup is always an unconventional delight.
The fried chicken makes the trip worthwhile. SO phenomenal. The mashed potatoes were perfectly done, garlic balanced with starch was ideal. The chicken is always a delight, and this time didn't disappoint.
We had a wonderful experience! Engagement celebration.
The Nashville Hot Fried Catfish was a knockout! I think they changed the recipe on the She Crab Soup. It wasn't as good as in the past and it was served warm not hot. Someone needs to tell the chef that BBQ shrimp is not actually made with BBQ sauce. He should consult Pascal Manale's Restaurant in New Orleans, where the dish was originated to adjust his recipe. Or Deanie's Restaurant in New Orleans. If you've ever had the dish in New Orleans then you'll know this iteration was lacking. And to add insult to injury, they served stale bread with it. That bread was as hard as a ROCK! I will not be ordering BBQ Shrimp at South City Kitchen again. Mostly we go there for the biscuits. They have the best biscuits in Atlanta!
Fantastic service and great Martini. Menu could be a bit broader and a couple of specials would be nice. Food is always good here.
We had a fabulous server - gave us the run down on everything and super attentive. My friend had a great first visit!! Love this place - southern food with a twist!!!
Patio seating was wonderful
I love the outdoor dining. I hope that the outdoor area will be spruced up with a little greenery and flowers. It will enhance the ambiance.
Our first visit but definitely not our last. The food and service were great. Friendly and attentive staff.
Great food and drinkd
I have eaten here numerous times and always have had a good experience. Tonight however the service was extremely slow. The waiter and the manager apologized at least three times for the slow service. I don’t pay for apologies but for good food and good service.
Very nice restaurant with really good food. I would definitely visit again.
nice, safe, and clean with yummy food and great cocktails
