Good dining experience- great fried chicken!
The atmosphere was great and the food was good! Impeccable service!
Wasn't happy that the menu was limited to the Easter Brunch menu, but what was offered was very delicious. The restaurant wasn't crowded and we were seated as soon as we walked in 15min before our reservation.
Good value but limited preset menu was problematic
The best vegetables I have had at a restaurant here in town. The other entrees were so tasty and perfectly cooked. Salad greens with benne seed were awesome.
Only issue is the rum selection, which didnt include any higher end brands.
The food was extraordinarily good. Especially the chicken livers! The service was impeccable and we appreciated our waiter, Anthony.
Great time. Our waiter from the last visit recognized my husband and I so it felt very personable. Another great visit.
Delicious food, great service! The fried chicken is special. We ordered the brisket spoon bread for the table, it was good, but not better than their fries green tomatoes. Plates run between $24-50, so it's def not cheap, but it was def delicious!
Great experience overall. The food was excellent. I tried the fried chicken, and definitely recommend. The complimentary biscuits and cornbread are a nice touch (and tasty!). I visited during lunch time on a Saturday, and perhaps it got too busy at one point, but it took a very long time for me to get my check. I'm doubt that's a chronic issue though. Overall, I'd go back here and recommend it if you're in Atlanta!
Food was good not great. Staff was excellent though.
One of the best Souther Food originals in ATL, great services and variety of dishes!
Highly recommend! Southern fine dining at its best. I have never been to a restaurant quite like South City Kitchen. Michael and Dorian provided exceptional southern hospitality with a touch of class. We will definitely return.
It was amazing!! Also try the Mississippi mud pie!! It was a great way to spend my birthday.
Food was fantastic as always. Restaurant can be loud, especially when there are screaming toddlers in it. Servers should ask if we want the full rundown on the menu before giving a top to bottom overview.
It was great
This was my second visit to South City Kitchen and the food and drinks did not disappoint. However, our waitress wasn't the best. One person in our party asked about substituting an ingredient in a dish and rather than just say they couldn't, her reply was kind of snarky. Additionally, I asked about bread for the table because we hadn't received any yet, and she quickly replied with a bit of an attitude "You don't have bread because we're waiting on it." Had she communicated this initially, I would not have had a reason to ask. I will visit again, but I'd hope that the service is a bit better. I'm always kind to whoever assists me when I patronize a business/restaurant and I expect the same in return.
Our server, Jenifer C, was OUTSTANDING! This has been our first date in over three months and Jenifer made it a wonderful experience. She was very knowledgable about the dishes and her recommendations - the cobia, the pork chops, and the crab cake appetizer - were spot on.
Great dinner, super cocktails, superb Staff and a winning night all around.
Everything Was Absolute Perfect. Best Customer Service
Wonderful service! Very cute for a step-up kind of dinner.
Went there with a client because I heard the Hot Nashville Sandwich was amazing.......IT WAS!. So was the staff. My biggest complaint is I walked out spending $50 plus parking on 2 sandwiches and 2 cokes.....and I paid for parking because there was none. available.
Oh well ...if you're in midtown give it a shot.
Always enjoy our food and service at SouthCity. The only thing I would recommend is some variety in the music at the midtown location.
Greatttttttt
Didn’t love the 20% added service charge/gratuity to the bill and then being offered to tip the server again with cash (which we did). Just all unexpected and a little off putting.
The food was good. I ordered a waffle, eggs, chicken sausage and grits, but I didn’t realize I didn’t get the grits until after I (over) paid and left the restaurant so I sent them an email. Hopefully they will get back to me refunding the price of the grits. Overall good experience.
From the moment you arrive to their door - the experience is a happy one. Lively, knowledgeable and friendly staff - the food is fantastic and creative. Limited but well curated wine list. Ashley, our server was awesome and every part of the experience of being there made me feel that I will come back when next in Atlanta. Highly recommend it and can’t wait to go back.
Nothing special. Good food, decent surroundings, reasonable prices and good service.
Clean and respectful of the distance guidelines. Excellent service.
The fried green tomatoes were so amazing
AAAAHHMAAAZING! The service, food, ambiance, prompt seating based on my reservation....everything was so bomb! This will define added as a regular brunch spot for myself and the hubby. Can’t wait to go back. Ooohh, and the drinks were on point!
Great experience, great food, just great. I would highly recommend to anyone that asked for a great restaurant in Midtown ATL.
food was AMAZING! service was great- hope to come back again!
Very nice experience and birthday celebration. Thank you for the hospitality and recommendations with our bourbon flight.
This is the OG location and I absolutely love it.
Great food and service! Will be back to this location regularly
Great brunch menu. The fried chicken is the star here, whether you get greens and potatoes or with your waffles! There is plenty of seating upstairs as well. The bellini and mimosa pitcher price is a little high, but the taste was good!
Jenifer was a very poor server. Forgot several items.
Not very attentive. Not happy with the obligatory 20%.
Have been several times most likely will not go back.
The food was FABULOUS! The atmosphere was perfect. Could've been romantic if necessary, or just a nice brunch for friends. Beautiful restaurant. Super nice staff! Just an all around perfect brunch.
Great food and service! Our waitress, Dorian, was fabulous! I will say the only thing that was annoying was that the gratuity they include is not for the waitress it’s for their COVID materials (hand sanitizer, masks, etc). So you leave cash for the server tips. But I was able to leave a tip through a cash app bc she deserved it!
Our waiter was Anthony, and he was amazing and VERY attentive. We were upstairs and it was very romantic, quiet and quaint. The food was amazing! I had the fried chicken breast with collard greens and mashed potatoes. My husband had the Boar. Our drinks were so good! I had the 619 and Dracarus. My husband had the Manhattan. Whenever we’re back in town, we’re definitely going to visit again!
