We went for fried chicken and were not disappointed; moist and flavorful. Superb cocktails, too.
Always enjoy lunch at South City Kitchen. We had lunch with and old friend and were never rushed although we stayed over two hours talking.
The wait staff were lovely and went above and beyond. However, I expected more from the food. It wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but it wasn't the A+ cuisine that I was expecting.
Once again, I had a great meal at South City. The service does understand a business lunch, so they stayed away during our conversation. I really appreciate this type of service. Good meal...good business.
There were 6 of us for a business dinner. The noise level made it a bit challenging at time to carry on a conversation. We were seated up front by the bar and front door which may have contributed. The service and food was outstanding!
Ordered chicken and mashed potatoes. Everyone at the table had it. No one was happy with the food. It lacked good seasoning and chicken was to over cooked. I was not happy with my food at all. Sorry will not be back.
We arrived early for our Sunday Brunch reservation, but were seated right away. The wait staff was attentive without being pushy and provided great menu guidance to our guests, who were first-timers at SCK. Our table settled on two orders of the Brisket Benedict, an SCK Breakfast, and a Pimento Cheese appetizer. All three were deliciously prepared. If you haven't tried the Brisket Benedict before, don't hesitate to do so on your next visit. Despite the usual busy Sunday Brunch crowd, our meal was unhurried and our visit with friends totally pleasant.
Always a great experience. Food and service were amazing!
James was amazing. We were a party of 6 and he was quite attentive, and an amazing server!
The service was very good. We stayed a long time chatting and catching up. The she crab soup is very delicious. We had the shrimp and grits. No little shrimp in this dish! The bowl of shrimp and grits is quite large. We couldn’t finish it. It was very tasty so hated to let our bowl go. We were stuffed.
This is our first time here and we all were mind-blown by the flavors of the food and our waiter, Ryan, who was very understanding and courteous. I have got nothing but outstanding things to say about the food and service. We were seated outside and even after telling one of the waiters to turn down the heat, we felt it was a tad hot throughout our dinner. Other than that, we enjoyed the quiet ambience. We’ll be coming back to taste the other amazing dishes on the menu.
Outstanding service! Christoper was a terrific server. We had an incredible meal! Can’t wait to come back!!!
South City never disappoints. Had the brisket sandwich and it was delish!
SCK is a must visit when in Atlanta. The fried chicken is the best! Tender and well seasoned. Get it with waffles or collards and mashed potatoes. Both are the perfect pairing. Sunday brunch here with family and friends makes everyone happy with all of the delicious comfort food offerings. The old house setting is like being at home. Wait staff is always friendly.
Service was slow, and the hostess with the short blonde hair was the rudest person I interacted with during my weekend in Atlanta. The food was excellent, particularly the collard greens, fried chicken, and corn chowder. The space is bright and airy, but can get rather noisy. They were very careful about my nut allergy, and our waitress was very sweet. Definitely worth making a reservation on Sundays, as we overheard the hostess telling someone the wait was 2+ hours.
Pas vraiment de goût.. et jai été malade toute la nuit !
Very loud. We requested a quieter table and were denied. Food was fantastic, as always, but our server was very curt and not friendly.
The food and service were impeccable. The server knew the menu and made recommendations. My daughter loved her suggestion. The manager and servers were attentive. Excellente!
It's a nice little spot where the food is ALWAYS amazing!! I’ve never had anything I did not love! The environment is quaint and the service is great! You will have to pay a penny or two for parking but it’s so worth it! It’s our go to spot when we want to eat good and have some close convo together. Try it, you will love it!
Yummy yummy restaurant. Never knew how good chicken and waffles was until I ate here. I am a new fan! The cornbread that was awesome, biscuits tender and the crab test was good. As well as crab benedict!
Always one of my first stops visiting Atlanta is South City Kitchen for the fried chicken.
Staying around the corner at the Four Seasons made this restaurant a handy choice. We have been to the South City Kitchen in Vinings several times and liked it alot. I understand this Midtown location is the original restaurant in the group. It sure looked like it. While the Vinings store is new and modern, this Midtown location has some of the feel of a hole in the wall and cozy.
My wife and I are somewhat handicapped and this restaurant is NOT handicap friendly. In fact I really don't see how the place meets the city and federal handicap requirements! You have to go up a number of steps to the front door and the restrooms are upstairs! The worst offense was when we asked where my wife could go to the bathroom using her knee scooter. The only answer was that South City has an understanding with the restaurant two doors down for handicapped clients to use their restroom. What?
The food was good and much like our Vinings experience. Fried Chicken is great as are the other menu items.
Special night date night pre-symphony. Service was FANTASTIC, worked to get us seated, served and out on time. Food was excellent, ambiance great. Our new favorite mid-town dinner spot.
This is my second visit to South City Kitchen; my first to the Midtown location. The cute interior was packed and noisy, so the hostess seated me on a covered patio. After a delicious starter of breaded roasted oysters and Southern biscuit and corn bread, I had a perfectly done pork chop. Service was excellent.
Excellent experience at Brunch - our server Sydney was outstanding, as was all of the staff. The food was absolutely amazing from the delicious appetizers, including the best She Crab Soup you'll ever taste to the wonderful breakfast items and their signature grits! Great, Great, Great!
Enjoyed it and food was really good.
We have been to South City Kitchen several times in the past, but this time was a great disappointment. The service was careless, the food unexceptional, and the environment unfriendly to customers (the staff had opened a bathroom window upstairs on a subzero day in Atlanta- I guess they wanted to be comfortable with no care to customers). Has South City Kitchen become so busy that they are forgetting why we liked them originally?
We returned here for the first time in years because we were going to a concert at the Woodruff Center, and this is one of the few places within walking distance. Unfortunately, things have gone down. The noise level was such that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Service was OK and the people were nice, but the food was really mediocre. For example, I had trout, which arrived on a large bed of cold beans. The trout wasn't hot, and had the appearance and taste of having spent too much time in the freezer. The wine selection was OK, but a bit overpriced, as was the food.
Other than the chairs being very uncomfortable and the restaurant being cold our dinner was wonderful. Heather our server was awesome! The food was delicious.
I had the shrimp and grits and my friends had the chicken and waffles (which I sampled). The shrimp and grits was delicious but the chicken and waffles was divine - next time I'm getting that! Wonderfully tender chicken with a perfectly crispy exterior and a fluffy waffle.
