South City Kitchen Midtown
Dine on local specialties such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the Atlanta skyline on one of the best patios in the city.
This truly is dining the way the New South intended. (Please note, the restaurant is not handicap accessible.)

Really good meal the fried green tomatoes were awesome the fried chicken was missing something but with the ambiance it was a great place to catch up with friends.
I love coming to South City Kitchen every time I'm in town. Consistently excellent food and service. The fried green tomatoes and pork chops are always favorites.
Underwhelming food, decor, and service, and then I get a parking ticket to boot because the legal street parking space out front turns into a taxi stand at 9 pm. This pace has no parking lot and all the pay lots nearby charge $15 or $20
Wonderful atlmosphere and delicious Southern cuisine!
Awesome, always love it. Only complaint is that it is too loud upstairs for me. I don't mind noise at all, it was just a bit too much. Everything else was terrific!
My food was delicious as usual. I got the Springer Fried Chicken and my friends got the shrimp and grits. The service was good and our waiter was attentive. We will be back :)
The meal and service were outstanding, but the restaurant was extremely noisy, especially for a Monday evening. Conversation was difficult.
Mostly excellent; some grit in veggies; great service, yummy desserts.
Several of our meals were too salty to eat. Drinks were poorly made. Asked to talk to manager and she didn’t offer to replace or comp anything...even an uneaten meal on a $200+ ticket. Tacky. Won’t go back!
It was yummy... I recommend the red fish or fried chicken. The hostess was very patient as my party size increased and was very late. The waiter was hospitable but also made sure we made it out in time for our concert
The service was amazing and the food was good!!
Had a lovely time celebrating my friend’s birthday. Got the crab cakes and the fried green tomatoes and they were perfect. Will defiantly be back!
My wife and I were visiting Atlanta for her birthday and came across South City Kitchen. The staff was extremely nice and the food was absolutely delicious. We had the fried green tomatoes, chicken and waffles, and the crab cake. Everything was amazing. South City Kitchen is on our list of places to return to the next time we visit Atlanta.
Waiter was excellent.... food outstanding Presentation 👍🏾
The Midtown location is conveniently located on Crescent Ave near other local establishments. I found it easily and also located parking without a problem. The only drawback was having to pay to park which was $15. I forgot to ask if they did any type of validation for parking. I also don’t know if the parking was so high because of St. Patrick’s Day and events going on. If I come back to the location those are questions that I would ask before booking a reservation. Being that I was meeting a friend for her b-day dinner the parking fee did not really matter.
On to the restaurant. It had very nice and cozy atmosphere with lots of areas for seating. There is a covered patio and an upstairs dining area. We were seated right away and our waiter came over promptly for our drink orders. The drinks were very tasty, sorry I don’t remember the name of the drink but it was first on the list for mixed drinks. We both ordered the Farm Springs chicken. Definitely was some of the tastiest fried chicken I have had in awhile. The skin was crunchy and the meat was juicy and not dried out or over cooked. It came with collard greens and mashed potatoes. The greens were melt in your mouth delicious and the potatoes were a great compliment to the fried chicken. Although this was my first time at the restaurant that dish would probably be my order again because I liked it so much. Since it was my friend’s birthday we also got a special dessert on the house. It was very tasty. A salted caramel mousse with cookies and whipped topping with a cookie sprinkle. It was not on the dessert menu, only for patrons celebrating a birthday. All in all I will come back and sample some other dishes on the menu at some of the other locations.
Very expensive. The service was great, but the food was not worth paying $60/person with tip.
The staff was commendable from the hostess that greeted us to the wait staff and management that checked on us. Great job! I also want to say, although I personally expected to like the food better, some of my friends said the side dishes and bread were very good.
I had She Crab and was a little disappointed, but it was still more that acceptable, it's a matter of taste I suppose. I had seen South City Kitchen in passing, I work downtown, but I also saw it on Atlanta Eats and they really talked about the fried chicken, again, just not as tasty as expected and probably a matter of taste.
I would recommend it, it was a lively atmosphere where you can talk loud and laugh with your friends, so for that reason, I'd still suggest it.
Excellent as always. There was a small issue with our table and the service provided to resolve was exemplary. Highly recommended
The food was delicious, and the service unbeatable.
Good Food, Great Service, Very Noisy -- we were meeting some friends who were visiting Atlanta and who we had not seen for almost two years. We had an exceptional servicer (a trainee) and enjoyed the food. However, it was very noisy which made it hard to hear our friends. Still, I would return.
My absolute favorite date night place. I love everything we’ve ever tried!! Oysters are amazing as well as some of the best shrimp and grits in atl
Solid local food if you’re in the area, not destination dining
This was the best dining experience that we have had in a while. We visited the restaurant for my wive's birthday. The wait staff was caring and helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful. Nothing was out of place not even the patrons.
Came here before prom. The food was great. Definitely recommend the NY Strip! Both me and my date enjoyed the food and service a bunch. Will for sure be coming back!
There was a bug in the food.
When I started eating, It came out so I couldn't eat any more.
This place is awesome. The service is top notch, cocktails are amazing and the food wonderful. One of my favorite places we always try to visit when in Atlanta.
Ate here for brunch and it was great. Tried dinner for the first time and it was also great. Our server Andy was knowledgeable and very attentive. Great craft cocktails.
First time visiting. Excellent overall experience! Server was knowledgeable and welcoming. Will be back again soon.
Great dinner before the symphony. Service was awesome and food was delicious.
Food was incredible, don’t miss pork chop or chicken.
Pablo is a 5 star service ! Ask for him when you arrive there
Great food and service but very noisy
Pablo was our waiter and he was excellent. He's very knowledgeable on the menu and made good recommendations. Hit wit and personality were great as well. This was my second visit to the restaurant because I enjoyed the first visit so much.
Great environment and service!
It was great!
We ate at the bar and had a great experience. I went back the next night.
Had dinner on a Sunday night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Like it so much we went back on Tuesday...just for dessert (the banana pudding is a great treat!). We were welcomed and treated just like we were there for a full dinner. Outstanding. Impressive staff. Keep it up!
The upside pineapple cake was amazing!
Really enjoyed the atmosphere. Our waiter was very good. We enjoyed the fried green tomatoes and the she crab soup was very good. The entree were okay. I will have to come again for dinner. The dinner entree, shrimp and grits and salmon were bland, not much taste. The trout was dry maybe overcooked, had to send back. The chicken, greens and potatoes were pretty good.
It’s a little noisy during Saturday brunch to have a serious conversation, but other than that, it’s wonderful!
