South City Kitchen Midtown
Dine on local specialties such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the Atlanta skyline on one of the best patios in the city.
This truly is dining the way the New South intended. (Please note, the restaurant is not handicap accessible.)

Great experience in the midtown location! If you want a quick and quieter experience, getting there early is the way to go. Otherwise, get ready for a full kitchen and atmosphere, which isn’t bad at all either. Outstanding food and service, as well.
Went for brunch. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. The manager came over to ask about our service. I’m sure I will come again and recommend this restaurant to all my colleagues and friends.
I, along with my friend, had chicken and waffles. It was really good. Service was awesome too. I recommend it on everyone's bucket list.
A great place to visit for a food experience. Brunch was a flavor overload, and the vibe was comfortable. Will definitely go back.
Food and service were very good. The music was very loud and we had a hard time talking at our table of 4.
South City Kitchen is always a great time. I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years now and it never disappoints. The fried chicken is superb and I really enjoyed the apple salad. Keep it up South City!
Love everything about this place!
It’s been several years since we enjoyed SCK. We invited friends from Spain to join us this time and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Only gets better each time we go!
Service is typically good but they were off their game on this night. Felt like we were bothering them to be their guest. Not what we were expecting based on past visits.
My favorite spot in all of Atlanta if not the entire South!11
They were so great to able to seat us right away after being 1/2 hr late for reservation.
Food was incredible along with the service.
I will definitely be back!
Every time we come to town we always make certain we go to South City Kitchen in Midtown. It is always top notch!
Great food and service! Only downside was the restaurant was packed and therefore noise level was extreme.
We went to South City Kitchen for Sunday brunch. And I gotta give it to them, the food was really good. But, this is easily the loudest restaurant that I have ever been to. My husband busted out the sound meter on his phone and it registered the same levels that he recorded at the Mercedes Benz Stadium during the Saints-Falcons game!
Upon arriving, our table was nicely set up and our waitress quickly greeted us. Once we ordered, food arrived within 10 min. And it looked like it had been just thrown on the plate. After eating for 10-15 min. Boxes were brought to us by waitress and she started clearing appetizer plates, which still had food on them. Checks were bright to us, we asked about desserts and felt very rushed. Our reservation was for 1:00, by 1:44 checks were on the table.
Wonderful meal and dining experience with friends. Smokey grilled pork chop, hangar steak and Carolina trout were all delicious as were craft cocktails.
amazing southern experience!
amazing southern experience!
We came in after a visit fo the High Museum. The only reason I am not giving five stars is that we were on the heated patio and the heat was clearly turned off after we were seated. We asked and were told it was on. We had to put our coats on to finish our meal. It was FREEZING.
Great food, relaxing surrounding, and friendly &attentive service.
Really great place. Our server gave us great recommendations and great service. We ordered the KC Bone in Strip and the fried chicken. They split the fried chicken for us and we split the steak. Great amount of food. Dessert was great as well!
The patio is less than desirable, especially when seated next to the exit door.
Because of the service alone, we will come back.
Food was just ok, nothing special. Desserts not good. I would have expected more especially for New Year’s Eve When we had a discrepancy on our bill the server who had been previously friendly
Went for New Year’s Eve and loved it! Great options. We loved the appetizers and the main entree choices. The fried chicken will not disappoint!
OMG,the food is outstanding! The bread basket consists of warm corn muffins and biscuits with apple butter and I could have been done with just that! Have never tasted better. I had chicken and waffles(upgrade to a pecan waffle) and it was just fantastic! Didn’t even need a knife to cut the generous portion of chicken,it was that tender. Skin was perfectly seasoned and crispy, not greasy at all. I am not a waffle person, but these were just amazing.
My daughter had the egg white frittata which she said was fantastic also. Portions are generous, wish I had had room for dessert, but no way!
The atmosphere is wonderful;fits in perfectly with the food.
Make a reservation, they were turning people away. Do not miss this place if you are in Atlanta!
was a great experience in collaboration with the open table app. the restaurant was very attentive to the special requests i noted on the reservation and made sure it was a great birthday meal experience! great food, service and ambiance!
Everything was great except the bathroom situation. In my personal opinion, a restaurant with more than 100 seats should have more than just 2 one seater bathrooms. I don't want to spend my time in a restaurant standing in line. And that was for both the mens and ladies. Otherwise, the food is great, the service was spectacular, the ambiance was nice. They have a lot of trendy dishes. For instance, my nephew and I both had the Shakshuka. He's a vegetarian, I'm not. But, I do love a good shakshuka and they do it well (not quite as good as mine, perhaps, but, I'm prejudiced). My husband had the chicken and waffles and said it was marvelous. For dessert, we ordered two and shared around the table. The pineapple upside down cake which was a favorite of my niece and the pecan pie, which my nephew preferred. Got to tell you, the pecan ice cream that came with the pecan pie was TO DIE FOR! Creamy texture, but interspersed with pecans for a bit of a crunch factor. The pie, too, was very nice with just enough of the pecan filling to crust ratio. And plated beautifully in two rectangles rather than your traditional wedge shaped pie slice.
Great food. Great service. Comfortable dining space.
Great meal, kind waitress who gave us good advice on what to order. All five of us enjoyed our meal. Shrimp and grits was amazing.
Cannot wait until next Christmas Eve.
The food was delicious.
There was a hair in my food. It was packed and very loud, too.
We loved everything from beginning to end! Our waiter, Chase, was fantastic! We will be back soon.
The food and service were good but the ambience was far too family friendly for a special occasion Saturday evening dinner. Poorly behaved children next to first table so we were moved. Second table in totally separate part of the restaurant we were (unintentionally) seated next to more poorly behaved children - along with their poorly behaved parents. Sigh. Ruined my birthday dinner. Not a fault of restaurant per se; just our experience with the clientele.
We love SCK! We had family in town and what better place to take them then South City Kitchen. Food was fantastic, servers are always top notch.
Everything about this restaurant is excellent. Killer food, above excellent service and overall just outstanding.
Looking forward to returning sooner than later :-)
Early dinner to give us time to enjoy ourselves before going to the Atlanta Symphony Pops. Fried green tomatoes were awesome as always. Fried chicken was delicious. One of our favorite restaurants for the last fifteen years. An Atlanta favorite. Thank you
This is the best of the South City Kitchen locations. The She-Crab soup is the best I've ever had and the pork chop was perfect. Our waiter was exceptional. It's my favorite restaurant in Atlanta.
We were late for our reservation due to traffic, thus pressed by our tickets to the symphony. The staff made note of our situation and accommodated in EVERY way to still make our dinner exceptional, but also timely. The food is always delicious: pimento cheese, crab cake, brussel sprouts/carrot, fried green tomatoes, and bread. Creative/exquisite, yet tasty. This is one of our fav picks when we go to mid-town! Great job, South City!
Outstanding food and service!
You must have the Venison! Everything we had was an explosion of flavor; Chef David is a gem and an artist!
