South City Kitchen Midtown
Dine on local specialties such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the Atlanta skyline on one of the best patios in the city.
This truly is dining the way the New South intended. (Please note, the restaurant is not handicap accessible.)

Great service, delicious food and presentation. Loved it all!
Sides were lukewarm, which was disappointing
We sent back the cauliflower dish as inedible with parts of it cold and parts of it hot. The sweet potato/brussel sprouts side dish tasted bad. And with no valet parking, we paid $20 to park across the street for a one hour dinner. Won't return.
They were very accommodating to our accessibility needs, and kept a great line of communication as plans changed. Great food and great customer service.
We've eaten at this South City Kitchen several times and it is always terrific. The staff is attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and inventive. It's a great take on southern cuisine.
It was really nice! We were given a gift card by customers for Fifth Group Restaurants. We chose this location! It was amazing! All the items on the menu sounded amazing! They even gave us a $20 gift card for signing up for their rewards program! Great way to get returning customers!
Always top notch!
On a cool and rainy day, my bowl of she crab soup was PERFECT! My guest's chicken salad must've been good too because nothing was left! Great Lunch...
Never again. Its reputation exceeds its achievements.
Great drinks and food!
The atmosphere was great with a southern charm. The food was amazing takes on southern dishes! The drinks were also great and all of it was reasonable priced.
Have had excellent experience in the past. Bhut this time the pork chop was cooked well done and very tough when I asked for it to be cooked medium (still pink inside) WIll still try them again though.
Food flavor & service incredible. Mixed drinks not good at all. Menu left to be desired. Vinings SCK better variety.
Arrived and we’re seated right away. The service was first class, the manager came by to ensure we were taken care of and all was well.
Great service; great food. Server asked when we sat down if we had time restraints which we greatly appreciated as we were headed to a concert later. Really excellent meal and experience.
Outstanding food - unique, appealing and delicious - very friendly staff and a great venue too!!
Server was honest and helpful. Pretty noisy at lunch time, but good food and great atmosphere.
I had a guest (Federal Lobbyist) in from DC. He wanted to have some Atlanta "Icon" food and a Midtown experience... Food was great, weather was cooperative and he was sold on SSK.
The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable!
Super Bowl Sunday brunch...we had a 2 pm reservation, and I presented myself to the hostess while my husband parked the car. She was very helpful and offered up a choice of two tables. The server, upon hearing that my husband had dropped me off, informed me in somewhat of an abrupt manner, that the kitchen closed at 3 pm. I explained that he would be with us momentarily. We were quick to make menu choices, and when we ordered our soup and entrees we were told that the trout had sold out. It would have been helpful to have known that earlier. The main course arrived before the soup. It was taken back to the kitchen. The soup came but I did not have time to finish mine before the entrees came back out and were not as warm as we would have liked. The table next to us was transformed into a set up station.
Great brunch. Great drinks. Very busy. Wish the Midtown space was bigger.
Came to check out the food for a rehearsal dinner but I think the space will be too cramped for an event like that.
Every time I come to a South City Kitchen, I have a great experience. The servers are pleasant, friendly, and professional. The food is delicious.
Loved this one, haven’t been here in years. Such a beautiful jewel
Meat was overcooked, everything else was great. Wonderful service
Always come here for brunch. Love the gluten free option.
One cannot go wrong with the she-crab soup and Carolina Trout.... desserts were wonderful too. I hadn't been here in a while, but was glad it was as good as I recall, especially for my out of town friends from Texas.
South City Kitchen is always consistent with their food quality and service! It's a great meal, great atmosphere and terrific service!
Fried chicken entree is amazing! The fried green tomatoes were unbelievable.
Celebrated my birthday there — great service and delicious food! Would love to visit again!
Everything was delicious and tasted fresh! The pear salad was different than my friends expected with a unique presentation but still enjoyable. We loved the fried green tomatoes and braised goat. There was nothing that we did not enjoy
First time and definitely not the last. Just loved it. Had a 6:00 pm reservation before a 7:30 concert nearby. Seated immediately and Jenifer, our server, was personable, informative and attentive. She made great recommendations. Shared fried green tomatoes as an appetizer-it was divided and plated separately. Beautiful presentation and delicious. Had scallops appetizer as my main course, son had braised ribs - perfect. Sides are extra if wanted and biscuits and cornbread muffins are complimentary. All so good. All the staff were terrific. Never felt rushed but so timely - even manager made the rounds . Great ambiance.
I recently dined at the Midtown location for my birthday. For the most part I enjoyed my visit, however, a couple of thumbs-down for me were: had to send back an overcooked egg for the crab cake dish and was charged for it (the cost should not have been passed on to me, that's on the chef), the table we had was somewhat in the line of traffic for the servers (on a corner in front of the fireplace). The manager and one of his staff members basically had a brief staff meeting right behind me and my husband to discuss what they thought their numbers for the day would be....AWKWARD. So while I wouldn't completely cross this location of my list, it will be quite a while if we decide to go back.
We stopped in for brunch before a show and we seated promptly and the food came out very quickly. The service was good and everyone was friendly.
From the moment we walked in I knew it was going to be an amazing experience. This was my second time dining at South City Kitchen, and I couldn’t be more impressed. Our waiter, Cameron, was immensely informative and pleasant. The overall experience was simply amazing, and all of our dishes were cooked to perfection. I will definitely be coming back here to share my love for this amazing place once again.
Outstanding food, service and wine. We sat at the Bar and our server was excellent.
Got a last minute reservation to South City and all I can say is “Wow!”. This place has amazing southern dishes that do not disappoint. Had the shrimp, pork cheeks and beet salad as appetizers. Shrimp is peel and eat, so be prepared to get a little messy. I had the She Crab soup which is very rich and creamy. For my entree I had the short rib. If you eat anything on the menu, make it the short rib. They have limited amounts and we got the last 3 of the evening. Will definitely return next time in Atlanta.
