South City Kitchen Midtown
Dine on local specialties such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the Atlanta skyline on one of the best patios in the city.
This truly is dining the way the New South intended. (Please note, the restaurant is not handicap accessible.)

Everything about South City Kitchen exceeded our expectations. We sat out in the patio as it was quite noisy inside. The servers here very friendly, helpful with suggestions for the meal and food arrived in a timely manner. The food was creative, delicious and beautifully presented. We highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
The Shrimp & Grits Entree was the best I have ever had throughout my travels to date.
The food was delicious as always but the service was slow
Great menu!!! We did rabbit, quail, trout and fried chicken. Fried chicken was the winner.
THE NOISE LEVEL AT SCK IS POSITIVELY TOXIC, PEOPLE YELLING ACROSS TABLES TO BE HEARD, NOT CONDUCTIVE FOR DINING OR CONVERSATION. MANAGEMENT COULD MITIGATE THIS IF THEY WANTED TO DO SO. NO EXCUSE FOR SUCH A DISMAL DINING EXPERIENCE AMONG SCREAMERS.
We were greeted at the door with a friendly face. That person actually came to our table and checked on us. The hosetess was not as friendly but our waiter was awesome and food amazing. We really enjoyed the evening. Thank you!
Service was supreme! Good was best ever! Ambience awful due to zero presence of any noise reducing efforts throughout entirety of restaurant. Prob won’t return as a result of not being able to carry on conversation w/any degree of enjoyment. Buckhead location does not have this problem.
Went for brunch on a Saturday morning with a reservation. We were promptly seated at a beatiful table upstairs. The server was knowledgeable and helpful in taking our order. The food arrived in a reasonable manner and was absolutely perfect. We highly recommend!
Pre-concert dinner with friends prior to ASO concert. Awesome chicken livers and house-aged bourbon
My chicken was perfect and I asked everything to be separated (I dont like my food touching) and it was as I asked. My aunt said her lamb ribs were very dry. They looked very dry. I have been there many times in the past over the years & am an FGR Rewards member. It was her first time. (The server did well walking her through the menu and answering questions. We went specifically for her to order the lamb ribs. After the server stated that was his favorite dish, she got more excited.) We asked if there could possibly be some that were more tender. The server explained they were all going to be tough since they are smoked. She was disappointed but ordered the crab cake instead. She liked it, but it wasn't filling. She was really disappointed about the ribs. I asked to be sat outside when I made the reservation because the noise level inside is always way too high. It was perfect outside. Not noisy and the server was attentive.
Service was noticeably attentive! Very appreciative and helpful!
Springer Mountain Fried Chicken was excellent!
We come here every year for our anniversary. I always make reservations on Open Table because we can make requests for seating and notify the staff of a special occasion. This was the first time our seat request wasn't honored and no one mentioned our anniversary. It was super busy on a Tuesday night, so maybe it was a little detail that was overlooked or not recognized. It was sad to us though to not have it mentioned when it was a natural part of the evening in years past. The food was amazing and our server, Sandy, was attentive.
Delicious food, attentive service, and cool setting are all hallmarks of this midtown staple. The fried green tomatoes and she crab soup are a must. The dessert options are worth saving room for at the end of your scrumptious meal. Bon appétit!
Lively dining in Midtown
Three of us had a business dinner on the patio. Food was delicious. Service was a bit disjointed, but overall experience was positive. As a bonus, we had a thunderstorm and the restaurant lost power! Fortunately, we had cash. We had fried chicken and the vegetable curry. Everyone ate every bite.
Our waitress, Ashley, was engaging and attentive. Her recommendations were great. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would visit again.
The food and environment is Always great! Alittle crowded and snug but nice.
A great spot for a girls dinner out before heading to the ASO for a show.
Sat on patio away from the noise inside. Beautiful evening.
Service was extremely friendly. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. The she crab soup was well above average, but the New Orleans BBQ shrimp was underwhelming. Not much flavor, and the sauce was more like a BBQ broth than a sauce. The shrimp were an excellent size, and deveined, but the legs were still attached which greatly slowed the process of shelling them. I would not recommend it.
We attended brunch at the restaurant and it was great. We ended up sitting at the bar and had such a great time talking with the bar staff and the people next to us. Food was awesome!!! We will definitely be back.
The food is outstanding at South City Kitchen Midtown, especially the she-crab soup and the fried chicken. We also got great service! The only issues were that it was freezing in the restaurant and the noise level is pretty high. We were upstairs, though, and maybe both of those things are better downstairs.
Excellent food and service.
Restaurant a bit loud.
Will most definitely return.
The chicken and waffles were great! Would recommend South City Kitchen
Service was great, and fried green tomatoes were amazing!
Great ambiance, food, service and selection. We enjoyed the entire experience.
We were seated immediately on the patio area. The inside is smaller than I expected, so I was grateful to be outside. Sandy was a great server.
We were in a cold corner but it didn't dampen our enjoyment of lunch too much.
Staff was great.
Food was AMAZING
The food is always great here! Love the ambiance.
Birthday get together. There was three or four going on. A lot of fun
Great food and atmosphere, and Cam was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend!
Great service. Food was quite good. Bathroom situation horrendous.
A lively venue with a relatively high noise level. Our waiter was great but peach salad while large was not attractively plated and not especially tasty. However crab soup and collard greens were delicious. I would vote for the sides.
Great food, great service!!
I would eat here every day if I could.
Great food and service..loved the chicken and waffles ..and the cornbread was to die for 😁
My only complaint was the noise level. It has gotten much worst. Impossible to have a conversation.
Food is excellent, service was great and the prices were moderte
