Great atmosphere and food.
Celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday here. Excellent food and service to make a memorable night.
Food and service were excellent. The tables are a bit close together and the noise level is high, but overall, a great dinner and enjoyable experience.
Dinner with friends. Good food. Noisy.
Nice spot to go with friends. We were a group of three there for lunch to celebrate a birthday. Ambience is great. Food is very good. Service is excellence. It's just a little loud--making it great for small groups. I would go back!
Love the porkchop for dinner and fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. And the biscuits are very good and doughy!
Expensive "gourmet" food. Very good gastronomic delights but overpriced for the artistic combinations. Best for a business lunch or dinner with a high profile client, not for a date or quick lunch outing.
Food is still high quality after all these years. Nice place for a lunch meeting and quieter if you eat on the outdoor patio (enclosed for the winter).
My wife and I had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at South City Kitchen Midtown. From the friendly and helpful service/staff, to the intimate and cozy environment, to the amazing meal and wine list. Simply wonderful experience! We'll definitely return!
My wife and I had dinner at South City Kitchen for the first time on Sunday November 10, 2019.
This is a small restaurant - so reservations are a must. It gets crowded since it is very popular - unfortunately a crowded, small space does get a bit noisy - making conversation a bit of a challenge.
Dress ranges from smart casual to just casual.
Service was excellent - prompt without being overbearing.
Food was a mixed bag.
My wife had the she-crab soup which we both felt was just OK. For her entree she had the goat and pasta. She felt it was under flavored and was short on goat.
I started with the fried green tomatoes - which we both thought were outstanding. Frankly, the best we had ever tried.
I had the duck breast as an entree - and it was perfect. Medium rare, succulent, and tender. It could not have been prepared or presented any better!
We will go back at least once more to see if my wife finds something on the menu that is as good as the meal I enjoyed.
We went to South City Kitchen for Sunday brunch to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday. We had an enjoyable meal, service was excellent. We were upstairs so the noise level there was much less than downstairs in the larger area. Will definitely go back!
Real "Southern Food" with a modern twist. Excellent value for money.
Would definitely go back next time I'm in Atlanta.
It was my wife's birthday, and I wanted her to have a special dinner. And this was our second time. Our server name was Sandy. He was very friendly and attentive, and made the evening so pleasant. The food was amazing. We will definitely be back soon.
They have Southern comfort foods cooked with their hearts. The Shrimp and Grits are the best. Crabcakes are really good too. The Fried Chicken and Waffle are good but not exceptional. I was disappointed by some of the cocktails though.
Great southern cooking and wonderful service. Very attentive to our need to be at a concert on time.
Always an exceptional meal, service and experience.
Great food & good atmosphere! Word of advice - do not park your car in the uncovered parking lot across the street! Last time we did, our car was broken into.
Great food and even better service!!! The food came out quickly and was hot
Service is always amazing. The food is always spectacular. This is one of my favorite places and it never ever disappoints.
Loved it! South City Kitchen Midtown never disappoints.
Every time I have lunch here it is a win!! Saturdays and Sundays are always busy, but the staff and the food hands down are the best! I love this place. A romantic date or a day out with friends and/or family you will never be disappointed!! So cute and cozy!!! Definitely a must when you visit Atlanta!
The biscuits and apple butter were amazing. Chicken and waffles there are my favorite.
I was visiting hot-Lanta and this restaurant was recommended. It did not disappoint. Make a rez so you won’t have to wait because it was constantly full. (A gr8 sign of a gr8 restaurant) I had the king biscuit dish. The egg and bacon were wonderful. The biscuit? OMGosh. Crispy-ish on the outside, tender on the inside. Pair it with apple butter... and the angels will sing!
The service was excellent.
Great meal with good service would gladly go back again
delicious dinner - ordered the she crab soup (lots of crab, creamy!), Crab cake, and fried green tomatoes. All were spectacular. Wait staff was attentive and very friendly, but not overbearing. Highly recommend.
Great experience! Service was incredible by Pablo....food is very good. Highly recommend!
Food was great and service was excellent. Thank you for another great dining experience!
Good place, not real fancy, but delicious southern fare.
Great food. lovely service. But don't expect to have an intimate conversation. It's very noisy.
The dessert is extremely delicious. Strongly recommend the upside-down pineapple cake and the banana pudding.
You get FREE HOT FRESH Biscuits and Cornbread after you order. Enough said!!!!
Getting together with old friends
Fabulous food, interesting and unexpected flavors (pineapple cake with cardamom), and professional service. Wonderful.
Our food was amazing! The waiter was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and personable. I can’t wait to go back.
Cool space, excellent food, superior service. Wish it weren't so noisy!
server was great; fried chicken on a salad was extremely dry. that was quite disappointing. other food was good.
As a popular venue of Crescent Avenue in Midtown Atlanta, a reservation at South City Kitchen is your best bet. I was just in a party of two today, but larger parties quickly came in after the 12 o clock hour and filled the establishment. Although it was boisterous at times, the service and taste of the food were great. We were served at lightening speed and the waiter gave us great recommendations when undecided between menu items. Great Friday visit overall.
Excellent. Loved our waiter and always love South City Kitchen
