Soul Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Our first time at Soul Café was very enjoyable. We ate outside on the back patio and it was very nice, much quieter than inside. The servers were attentive and had some helpful suggestions. The food was delicious -- it was nice to have some southern style food. The Shimp and Grits were very good.
The Soul Cafe is such a warm place for food and service. The staff is great...the food is great!
My friend and I had a wonderful brunch with Eric and were met by Remona, both a delight.
There is no rush at The Soul Cafe and everything is done with a smile. It is a neighborhood
restaurant that always serves great food and the welcoming staff makes sure you leave totally
This is a place where it is a delight to return for the marvelous treatment and creative food.
Thanks for the lovely experience!
The whitefish from Lake Superior was a special on the menu and was outstanding. Having had whitefish before in Traverse City, Michigan I was not expecting Soul Cafe to beat the Michiganites but they surely did. The service was excellent. My wife's meal was equally outstanding. This is a great place for a meal any night and breakfast everday.
We stopped in for breakfast because it is close to Curves for women. Fantastic food!!! Our waiter Eric convinced us ( did not take much ) to come back for dinner. We were so glad we did. Shrimp & Grits is a favorite of mine and theirs takes a backseat to no one. My wife had the meatloaf with local touches, she could not stop raving about it. Our time in Scottsdale is up, we can't wait to come back and visit Eric and next time we might even follow his recommendations.
It was restaurant week in Phoenix, so we ordered from a $35, three course meal. The appetizer of six raw clams (without the shell) was creative to look at, but lacked taste. The tenderloin steak was right-on medium rare, and the creme brulee was very good. I ordered a Manhattan on rocks, and that was 'right on'.... The wait staff was quick and attentive. So...I have no complaints about this place.
My husband and I went here for restaurant week. This restaurant was amazing. I am a finicky eater and send back food if its over cooked, under cooked, etc. This place was AMAZING. You will not find this food anywhere. Creative and unique recipes, inspired and delicious. My appetizer was a scallop with pickled jalapeno with thinly sliced orange. The spicy jalapeño mixed with the tangy orange was a delicious heat coupled with the cool orange was just a delicious flavor profile. The presentation of every dish was so pretty too! I had the crispy duck for the main course, a nice size portion of crispy and juicy duck with this amazing cherry chipotle sauce! The roasted creamy parsnips was coated in a crusted breading that was just happiness on my taste buds. For dessert I had the chipotle chili brownie with avocado ice cream. The chili brownie was crisper on the outside and soft with a nice chewy inside. Avocado ice cream sounded weird, but surprisingly it was pleasantly yummy! The place has a nice casual unique ambiance, friendly staff. Hands down my new favorite restaurant. They switch up their menu seasonally. Seriously try this place. The food is YUMMY!!!!!! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would!
We had a fantastic time at Soul Cafe in north Scottsdale. We found this place through the Restaurant Week promotion and loved it. The staff was very proud of their establishment. Service was professional and friendly. The menu options were good...and we got a taste of the pork green chile...YUMMMMM! We will be there for brunch next :-)
Second time visiting Soul Cafe. We tried one of their pizzas and it was very good! It was a happy hour special. We live in the immediate area and like coming here. Easy to eat at the bar or if we want more privacy, grab a table. The staff are very friendly. Great wine and beer selection too. Would recommend to a friend.
Always outstanding food prepared in creative ways. This weekend they had fresh Halibut cheeks which were delicious and Octopus; two entrees you don't find in most places in addition to their standard fare. Prices are very reasonable and the homemade personal pies for dessert can't be beat.
We dined at Soul Cafe because we wanted to hear their live music as advertised. We really enjoyed the music but would recommend the female singer to sing to the entire restaurant, she sang to her table of family and friends. She was very good but we never saw the front of her face and we would have been much more engaging as a listener. Overall all night was excellent! Will be back.
The Soul Cafe is alway consistent. The menu offers a good variety of choices and the service is always friendly. It has a Southwwest flair, but not overy spicy. The food is more interesting than other neighbor spots. Their breakfasts are amazing! The Raspberry pancakes will jold you for at least two days.
I've been to Soul Cafe a number of times now and the food has always been exceptional. This time, we were able to order desert after our meal, which is not usually an option at lunch. The homemade fruit pie we ordered was the best pie I'd ever tasted in a restaurant. Kudos to the chef who prepared them, and please consider including these in the lunch menu.
The ambiance is relaxing and not too noisy, a nice change from many restaurants in Scottsdale.
We were seated close to the bathroom even though we made a reservation. We were not told that an entree was not available until after we ordered it. We had to wait over 40 minutes for our food and we didn't get an apology until we asked about where our food was. The food did not come out hot.
