Sotto Voce Wine & Pasta Bar
The food and service was great, and I have already recommended it. VERY friendly and almost family-like atmosphere with the staff. I loved the hostess! She looked very put together which impressed me a great deal. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Toronto. My only issue was that the music was too loud.
I would only recommend to eat at this restaurant when patio is open.
The smoke from the open kitchen fills the restaurant making dining a very unpleasant experience not to mention hair and clothes reeking of cooking smells! Too bad because the food was very good.
Better ventilation is needed!
Yes, already did on Trip Advisor. This was an excellent choice.
Place was Smokey from kitchen and clothes smelled after of grease
Food has great flavour, nice variety of dishes. Great selection of drinks.
Always a great experience - Sotto Voce never disappoints! Food is great, service is excellent and ambiance is really good. Don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience here!
Fantastic experience, food was amazing and the people were friendly.
Great wine list, delicious food and a good variety at a very reasonable price point.
Excellent food, excellent service, good value and the music was great too.
Only complaint was its a bit small and we were sat by the door so people were always standing over our table, but the food and ambience more than made up for it. Will definitely be back!
Amazing service and food! Definitely recommend
I recommended to a friend that we go to Sotto Voce as I had been a couple months ago after many years of not going and the food and service were both great. However, this past visit was NOT the same. After reserving a table, we were given the table directly inside the door & wind curtain, which the owner . manager assured us we would be grateful for as it was so hot inside......this was NOT at all true. We were freezing and were ready to leave if we had not been offered another table after asking a couple times. When the owner / manager saw that our server had accommodated us with a new table, she was not pleased and that was obvious. Our server did her best but it seemed very obvious that it is a stressful place to work on a busy night. Our food was 100% average which made the evening that much more disappointing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Sotto Voce; The staff and owner were so helpful in assisting us to choose our meal; they were extremely attentive and friendly. Our appetizers were very interesting , consisting of a wonderful variety of flavors. My husband loved the grilled octopus salad and my "Pesce" (Italian sea bass) was light, delicate and grilled to perfection. The dishes are very well priced and are prepared with care and imagination. The desserts, while not made on site are some of the most delicious tortes and cakes we have tasted. We will be back !
As soon as we got inside we were greeted, sat and had our coats put away. Here was always someone checking in on us and our food came fairly quickly. The two dishes we ordered and our app was so tasty! We loved it so much I wish there was more in our bowls! This cozy, dimly lit place gave off a sexy vibe that could only make you smile. Highly recommended.
Anita the owner was very welcoming and very involved with a hands on approach. This speaks to the success of this charming restaurant.
The food and service are always good there. They have a good wine list and in the summer a lovely little patio in a great location.
This was our first visit and it won’t be our last! The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations and the food was quite good. Overall, this was a great experience.
Birthday. I surprise him with something new every year. Another hit!
Great food. Great service. Great prizes. And the desserts were to die for
Great little Italian place with a fabulous proprietor who made us feel welcome, had great recommendations, and altered menu items to accommodate tastes. Tremendous cocktails, and the food was outstanding. She told us how she writes the menu to keep both sides of the small kitchen working. Will be back when next in Toronto!
An all time favourite place for 20 years
Somehow manages to be hip and sophisticated and casual and upscale all at the same time.
The service and food was en pointe and the team went above and beyond to make sure our group dinner was perfect. We will definitely be booking future events there!
Excellent and cozy restaurant in Little Italy in Toronto. The restaurant has a cute outdoor patio and fireplace. The staff was great, they kept checking up on us, gave us a complimentary dessert due to noise level that didnt bother us at all. The appetizers were delicious and the mushroom risotto with truffle oil was mouthwatering. The stuffed ravioli with butternut squash and pecans was rich and perfect. The restaurant has a cute seating bar area which a variety list of wines. I would definitely go back or highly recommend this beautiful gem.
They were very pushy on bringing the bill after we finished eating. I understand they want to attend more customers, but they went all over to make us feel uncomfortable and wanting to leave. Aside from it, food was great and I liked the place.
Wonderful staff, great food
Great place to eat. Food tasty , wine excellent . But the noise level was way too high. Not possible to talk normally. On top off the choice of music was not really what you expect in an Italian resto called ‘Soto voce’
Great spot in Little Italy, highly recommended for a night out.
Thank you for a delicious and enjoyable evening. Friendly atmosphere, caring staff, great for an evening with friends.
Food was good. I had fish and others in party had pasta dishes. Chocolate cake was delicious. We sat outside and thank goodness. It was too loud inside.
The service was excellent and the food fantastic. Good value for being in the heart of little Italy.
The Bogel Chardonnay is an excellent addition to the wine list.
Four friends got together in the city for a summer evening dinner on patio. We chose Sotto Voce because of previous visits. The staff are knowledgeable and professional, the food is well prepared and creative and the wine list is long. Scallop ad dill pasta is a winner. Branzino was crispy and tender, (but with no side...at all...hmmm). The risotto was a little dry. We missed the creamy, velvety texture of a good risotto that requires a big spoon.
Only criticism is the desserts. House made would have been a brilliant way to end our meal. We all agreed there was a slight taste of fridge about the bland chocolate truffle cake.
We all would return however, after a TFC game or for another relaxed weeknight dinner.
Good food and good service made our night out with friends memorable
This was our first visit and we will certainly return. The inside is quite small and the outdoor patio was very busy. The hostess was very friendly and gave good recommendations for our food choices. Very good wine selection and our meal was delicious, well presented and good portion size. The music inside could have been a little quieter, but overall a good evening out.
First time here at Sotto Voce!
We live in East end of city and would definitely come back here.
The service was A1, friendly, warm, very accommodating and the food was so deliciously superb.
All the service staff were smiling, pleasant and treated us very well.
Great food, great service, wonderful staff. Made us feel welcome and special. Highly recommend!
Took my mother for a special dinner out and we couldn’t have been happier with this restaurant. The food was exceptional, service perfect, vibe was cool. We’ll be back!
Fantastic as always. Food was unbelievable and service is exceptional.
Food, atmosphere and service were excellent. Really enjoyed the authentic Italian food
Ambiance was awesome, food could have used some more flavour, the green tile in the kitchen was ill suited to the rest of the room. Drink and service good. Friendly wait staff.
Great food. Great service. Great night out. Wonderful stalwart in the neighborhood.
