Sotto Sotto was a more high end option, making it great for special occasions and dates. The staff were all professional, informative, and kind. The food tasted fresh and delicious, and the cocktails were fabulous. I loved the whole atmosphere. I would definitely recommend it to couples traveling to Atlanta.
One of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. The food is just exceptional, delicious, scrumptious in fact. From appetizers to entrees, with so many wonderful choices, and everything is simply elegantly served and expertly prepared. Its hard to decide what to choose! A little loud but that is because everyone is having so much fun! Can't wait to go again...the pasta is amazing.
Though a little late to rate, I wanted to mention that though the food is great. The service is not up to par. Also, the waiter we had was no help in getting in and out from the table, as the tables were all too close together, making it uncomfortable and awkward for all. He just basically watched us struggle and just said, “Thank you”? Does not make sense. Left a bad impression to us, sadly. Maybe after they fix the patio, they can update the waiters on manners and helpfulness,
Amazing meal! Lovely restaurant and ambiance...everything was creative, fresh and delicious. What a find! We are not from Atlanta but visit frequently and this will be one we must revisit again and again! Love the Inman Park area too...it was fun to walk around after dinner. The service was exceptional too. Our waitress was so knowledgable about the wines and food. She gave great suggestions.
I had never eaten here before and I found it using various apps and google and it was even better than I expected! The service was great and we never had to waive down a waitress/waiter and they were great about refilling water. The food didn't take long to be prepared and the dinner was very smooth for my moms birthday! Highly recommend for great Italian food!
It was a nice anniversary dinner. Wait staff was attentive and ambience was nice for the occasion. House made pasta was fantastic. Only complaint is we were running 15 mins late for our reservation and the host was acting like he was doing a favor saving us our table when the place was empty when we arrived.
This is one of my go-tos in Atlanta. I can count on the food being exceptional with fantastic service. All the risottos and pastas are available in first course size plates which is great on a date to if you and your date are into food sharing and sampling.
I highly recommend both the carmelized onion and mushroom risotto. The carmelized onion can be a touch on the sweet side if you're ordering it for an entire meal on your own, but it's perfect to share. The mushroom risotto, however, is fine to eat all by yourself and stab anyone who comes near it. It's that good.
As far as the pastas go, I'm always a fan of their lasagna as they make it when a bechamel sauce instead of ricotta (just not a huge fan of ricotta's texture). This is a wonderful dish. The priest strangler is exception as are their gnocchis.
Really though, I'm here for the dessert...specifically the panna cotta. That damn thing is so smooth, creamy and milky, but then they add the 12yr aged balsamic vinegar drizzle. This is really the kicker. It adds a sharp tartness and a sweetness to go with the milky cream of the panna cotta. It coats the full inside of your mouth and assaults your taste buds with the taste of victory. You expect it to be over after you finish your bite, but then there's a lovely lingering mouth feel. It's like you get a second course out of it. Ridiculous.
So basically, go there and get all the things. You won't be sad...unless you need gluten free. I'm sure they have those options, but I'm not the person to ask about it.
Sotto Sotto was Soso Soso. Our first visit was wonderful. 2nd time around was just a standard night out. We went for a celebration and left feeling like we went to an Olive Garden. No dining specials were offered and the waiter was not experienced with the tastes of the menu and could not confidently offer suggestions. They would only say "A lot of people order this." Willing to give them another shot down the road, but for the total price of the meal we expected a much better dining experience.
My family went for Restaurant Week and had three course menus. The choices were very good and the pasta dishes were delicious, especially the Tortelli di Mele. The service was slow and unenthusiastic, as everyone around us arrived later and was served sooner than we were.
The tables were too close together. In order to sit down the hostess had to pull the table away and then push it back in. It made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The hostess was also wearing a dress that was too short for all the table moving she was doing.
Waiter seemed a bit stressed by restaurant week- huge pause before taking order and had to ask for check after dinner. Otherwise very attentive. Didn't like it when I asked him his name at beginning to be friendly. Table next to us had same impression
Very disappointed I was looking forward to enjoying this restaurant with my wife and granddaughter and the service was very slow Fortunately, the general manager (Patricio Alaina)came by and was helpful and at least helped us get our wine and martinis Our waiter kept telling us the bar was too busy Had to wait 30 minutes for the first drink (took 20 minutes to get a second martini ) The pasta appetizers and the risotto were very good but but by the time they came we were so aggravated we truly didn't appreciate the food to its fullest extent The fish special was just so-so and I had to move my plates over so the waiter could debone it on the relatively small table we sat at Our table was in the patio which was very pleasant and quiet
5 star experience including wonderful food and service from Albert who made us so welcome. We found Sotto Sotto in Atlanta on our penultimate evening and enjoyed it so much that we returned for our last evening. Their risotto is amazing and the mango sorbet is delicious (and I don't usually even like sorbet!). Highly recommend for food, service and ambiance.
Fantastic restaurant. Each item ordered was excellent. We started with beet salad, caprese salad, and a tuna carpacio. The entrees were the mushroom risotto and the best part for me was that our server Justin gave great advice on both the sweet sausage ragu with priest strangler pasta and the Michelangelo ravioli. I could not decide so he reminded me that I could order the appetizer portion for each. Brilliant advice. The only small star reduction was that to start service was spotty, no water until we asked again and a mistake on the tuna order and slow wine service. But they were busy and once the core reason to be there - great food and wine - were going all was more than well, it was great. We are heading back this week. One note is that the tables are tight in places, so it is intimate but a loud neighbor means you are part of their chat. Then again I'd rather have tables enough to let folks eat than have fewer tables. So the tip is about what someone wants as far as vibe goes.
