Excellent service, the risotto/hazelnut/honey bruschetta and the tiramisu were outstanding.
Outstanding food. Really loud room made it difficult four our 4-top to hear each other.
Cool atmosphere, but the smoke from the fire grill was overwhelming. My wife and I had to get all of our clothes and coats dry cleaned after this meal.
The cocktails we ordered (Lemoncellos), were far from authentic Italian, and in the best case tasted like a horrible medicine, it was undrinkable. Our server notices that we did not consume it and kindly replaced it with two glasses of prosecco, which was very nice.
The wine selection was nice, but highly overpriced. The food was disappointing, we will not be back.
Great place for a special night out or simply a great meal. Ambiance cozy and romantic. Service is personable and attentive without being intrusive. Highly Recommend the following: Appetizers: Goat Cheese Bruschetta and Grilled Octopus. Salad: Insalata Baby Greens. Entrees: Special Lamb with Potatoes. Desert: Ricotta Donuts with Caramel, Chocolate, and Pistachio.
Was the usual great meal. Thumbs up for clam pasta! My new favorite entree. Was slightly crushed they ran out of rhubarb crostata :(
Great ! Fooddd and serviceee aweesomee
The service is second to none. Very attentive without being over bearing. We feel like we are at a friends house. Lauren took care of us once again.
Fantastic experience! Such a cozy enviroment with a simple but lovely menu. The wine list was killer. Get the donuts!
This was our first time there and I was with my mom and two sisters. We loved the look of it, how we had to go downstairs and the entire candlelit, brick wall ambience. Everything we had was delicious. Our server was very good. We thought the place was very neat and would definitely go back. There was one problem and it bothered all four of us the entire dinner. It was so loud in there, some music that didn't seem to fit the look or mood of the place was playing loudly the entire time. We found it confusing and had to kind of yell to talk. It didn't seem to fit in with the place at all and just turning it off, or down, or another type of music lower in the background would all have made more sense. But regardless, it was a delicious dining experience in a really cool place and I will definitely go back.
Great food and menu, highly recommended for a fun time with friends.
Food was outstanding! We all took bits of each other’s food and everything was amazing. Only downside, it was so dark that we had to get our cell phones out to read the menu
From the moment you enter the door and head down the stairs to the basement, the ambience of the restaurant tells you, this will be a good meal.
We arrived a few minutes early for our dinner reservation and rather than make us wait, the hostess immediately found alternate sitting for our party.
Our waiter was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. The dishes were perfectly timed and all wine and food recommendations were spot on.
We started with the chicken liver mousse topped with pistachios which was melt in your mouth delicious. Our next course tender grilled octopus followed by short rib cappellacci home made pasta.
The combination of supreme service and excellence food made this is one of the best dinner experiences I have had in a long time.
Best restaurant in Cincinnati, hands down! Exceptional service, atmosphere, and menu! I’ve never had a less than outstanding experience at Sotto.
I love Sotto!
Not recommended for a pre-show dinner. Service between courses was extremely slow. Our server clearly understood at the beginning of the meal that we had a 7:30 show. We had to rush to get seated before the curtain. Not recommended.
Sotto never disappoints!
Took a friend for her 50th birthday and she was wowed!
Food was on point (as usual), service was above the top and you all helped make her big day very memeroable.
Thanks for always being a favorite dining destination in Cincinnati.
Best Italian food!! Very cool vibe! Excellent service! Highly recommend the short rib pasta with Amish butter. Literally the best pasta dish I ever had! Make room for their amazing dessert... Ricotta Donuts!
Perfect spot for sharing a meal with friends. Best to share everything. We ordered the salumi plate for 2-4 (melt in your mouth), blue oven bread, octopus, goat cheese & honey bruschetta, the cacio e pepe pasta, and the breaded pork loin. All were delicious and it was the perfect amount for four people. The dimly lit, private atmosphere is just what I love.
Our first visit and we will be back loved it!
A lovely restaurant with an even better atmosphere. It was on the darker side, but it set a nice mood. The food was outstanding. That being said, the portions are a little small for the price. All in all though, the food was great and we will be visiting again!
Expensive but unbelievable flavors. Small portions but expected
Everything was amazing! Hilary was our waitress and she made our first experience awesome! The doughnuts are a must!
Food was absolutely delicious ! The restaurant is stunning. I love the decor and how dark it is. It really gives a romantic feel. I will absolutely be back!
Fantastic as always. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Sotto exceeded my expectations
Food was delicious
Ambiance was great
Service was amazing
A fun birthday dinner at one of my favorite spots!
Just love Sotto! Food and service are spectacular. It's an incredibly beautiful restaurant. I wish I could have the branzino and short rib cappellacci dishes weekly. I love "energetic" restaurants but would sincerely love to go to Sotto and be able to easily hear everyone at the table. When there are more than 4 of us - you really need to "use your outdoor voice"!
Everything about Sotto is incredible, the food, ambiance, etc. definitely recommend for a special occasion or amazing, authentic italian meal.
Excellent every time
The food was overpriced and poor quality. Also the portions were way too small for the price.
Sotto’s food is delicious. They have vegan options. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. What a wonderful Easter dinner.
Wonderful as usual. Best space in Cincinnati. All of this chefs restaurant are good but this space is amazing
The first time I ate at Sotto everything was delicious, atmosphere superb, and had the best Manhattan ever! Second time dining we were taking friends out for dinner. We were seated by the kitchen which was very noisy, our server spoke so fast we could barely understand what she was saying, had the worst Manhattan's, and one dish was VERY salty. I was so excited to take our friends here and to get our Manhattan's. It was disappointing, but I would give it another try. The atmosphere is awesome and the food is very good, though portions are very small.
Our server was excellent. He was able to help us pick a wine and had great suggestions about the food.
Pretty cool place but kinda hard to find if you’re not familiar with the place
We love sotto. It’s a must every time we visit Cincinnati. Not much has changed on the menu since the last time we dined.
Very crowed for Wednesday evening at 8. Service was efficient but not intrusive. Atmosphere was very romantic.
Excellent flavors a bit too expensive for pasta!!!
This is a great place to eat. That being said it does get very loud at times
Exquisite, as always! Probably our favorite restaurant in the city, Sotto never disappoints. Perfect service, beautiful dishes, great wine list.
