It is a concept of casual intimacy and communal romance. Sotto is the art of simplicity, a steward of restraint. It’s undressed, gutsy and human. It is fire, meat, wheat, and laughter. Above all, Sotto is Italian.

Sotto Ratings and Reviews
Sotto is a lovely place with a warm, friendly atmosphere. The food is excellent, a bit different, but not extreme. It's healthy and well done. The servers are thoughtful. Our group of 5 was served and out in an hour because we indicated the need to go back to work. I wish we could lunch there at times other than the holidays!
Had a nice dinner. Just note that It is loud. My mother-in-law couldn’t hear our conversation, which was sad, but she still enjoyed dinner. Very vibrant atmosphere. The bruschetta w goat cheese was delicious and I don’t normally care for goat cheese. Kale Caesar salad?? Awesome. Very spicy and I liked it. I had remembered the black pepper pasta from my first visit, but it tasted a little salty to me this time. Maybe just a fluke. Pork cutlet was fabulous. And best of all - the donuts. Unbelievable. Skip the other desserts. This one was a standout by far. Would come back just for the donuts alone. Thanks !
Never disappointed! Can’t think of anything but praise from my taste buds to yours to try their braised rib stuffed ravioli. Then use the sauce for for dipping your bread in. Instead of ripping the bread in “trying to justify yourself for eating the bread”the olive oil. I mean if you eating bread you might as well add joy to the list of emotions you feel when you eat here.
Oh yeah forgot the Goat cheese and honey guess what it’s on bread as well!
I have been here a lot I don’t think I have had any dish that wasn’t amazing
You can’t go wrong!
My wife and I went to Sotto for the first time for our wedding anniversary. We had an incredible time. The ambiance and the food are truly amazing. The service is excellent as well. I had the breaded pork loin and it was the best meal I have had in a long time. A nice dinner will cost you around $100 for 2 but it is so worth it, especially for a special occasion. Highly recommended.
Sotto is so special every time we visit. We were out with our friends for a special occasion. Always excellent from the greeting to the service and most of all the delicious food. We have tried almost everything on the menu but always gravitate back to the incredibly tasty rag alla bolognese and short rib cappellacci - wow! Lauren the server is the best and always makes it a very fun time. It is so wonderful to have a restaurant of this caliber in Cincinnati!
Awesome, as always. First time going for lunch and I will most definitely be back. They got us in and out in an hour, which is perfect for a business lunch meeting. And the best part is they serve a complimentary ricotta donut hole with Carmel as dessert - SO GOOD!
This was my third time to Sotto, and I’ve consistently had the same experience. Each time we get 1 or 2 appetizers, a main dish, bottle of wine, and dessert. Each time the appetizers have been delicious (this past time i had the polenta and hazelnut honey & goat cheese bruschetta). The apps are only big enough for 2 people, but are reasonably priced. Consistently, the main dishes have been excessively salty. To the point where I could not eat half of the dish. I’ve had a combination of dishes (some pasta, some meat) and each has been the same way. The best part of my experience is always the dessert. The doughnuts and the chocolate budino are amazing. The wine has always been good (I usually get one of the less expensive bottles of red). From now on I will return only to get apps, dessert, and wine. The main dishes are just not worth the money.
My girlfriend and I went for an anniversary dinner and it was wonderful! I got the recommendation from a coworker, I actually hadn't heard of Sotto before, but we decided to go, and I'm so glad we did! The wine was amazing, we got a three course meal where everything tasted wonderful, and it was totally affordable. I definitely think we'll be back.
Everything about this place is cool. The atmosphere, the staff, the menu. It's an experience that is like no other place in the City! Our sever(Hillary) was sooooo helpful and her knowledge of the menu was amazing. Get the donuts!! Trust me! Just get them !
The setting was unique and reminded us of a speak easy. The overall vibe was relaxing but a bit noisy. My wife and I went here for the first time for our 22nd wedding anniversary . The menu was very limited and our found was not what we expected. The food seemed bland and not we have experienced at other authentic Italian restaurants. While the environment was neat the food needs a lot of work. I wouldn’t recommend the food.
Fantastic place. Had heard so much about Sotto and was not disappointed. Love, love the warm, inviting , cozy atmosphere so hard to find these days. The staff was lovely, courteous and professional. Food was delicious. I had the short rib cappellacci so flavorful it melts in your mouth - to die for.
Also the bruschetta with Goat Cheese & Hazelnut Honey -delicious!
Can't wait to go back!
My wife and I had another great meal at Sotto. We start with an appetizer and then share one item from each of the courses. Everything is well prepared and delivered at the right temperature and nicely paced between courses. Although we're not big dessert fans, we always have room for the ricotta donuts. Don't miss them!
We love the warm, cozy atmosphere so much that we have been coming to this same place for 50 years, starting when it was LaNormandie and the bar floor was always covered with peanut shells from the bowls of peanuts that graced every table.
