Excellent food and service at a price point worth returning for.
I love Sotto. I don’t love that you took the most amazing thing off the menu (gnocchi). I had a really hard time hiding my disappointment about it. Overall the food was good service was okay. My fiancé and I love it so we will be back.
Anthony and all take great care, they are great with recommendations etc. The food is always unique and perfectly prepared
The food is delicious and though the portions are not large I found them to be perfectly sized. Everything I had and my friends had was perfect. The restaurant is underground, dark and full of candles. I loved every moment of my dining experience there. Also, my waitress was amazing.
I would call myself a veteran at Sotto, having visited their restaurant too often to count, and the overall experience is always wonderful. However, this last visit, I did notice a few things that did not live up to Sotto's usual high standards. First, the Black Kale Caesar salad did not taste as it usually does - it was low on salt, lemon, and, flavor. Our Tajarin con Tartufo, Grilled Octopus, and, Goat cheese and Hazelnut Honey Bruschetta were fantastic. For our main, we had the Wood fired Branzino with bulgur wheat, cucumber, mint, and, olive. Again, the bulgur wheat was lacking its usual strong and bright flavors. Dessert was fantastic as usual - the pine nut crostata was so unique and flavorful - a great seasonal offering!
With regards to ambience, Sotto is absolutely charming and a great spot for dates and special occasions. But, I detest the music. It is awful and really takes away from the experience. This happened to us last year, where they started playing extremely loud heavy metal music towards the end of our meal and it just leaves you with a horrible feeling. This happened again, as we were finishing up a fabulous and cozy meal, we were again overwhelmed by the loud, heavy metal music. As a plea from a very loyal guest - please rethink your music choices!
The food was excellent. Tony was our server & gave excellent service. A repeat visit is a must!
Excellent freshly prepared foods, well presented, scrumptious to eat and close to traditional Italian for the USA. Service is engaging, somewhat scattered but delivers overall. Value is average.
Bolognese and rigatoni are delicious! Ricotta doughnuts with the three dipping sauces are a MUST!
Most wonderful and most authentic Italian restaurant!
Wend for a business dinner with a colleague from Italy and he could not believe how authentic and fantastic Sotto is. He is a food lover and enjoyed every bite and so did I. The star is the ambiance, the pasta, the bread and the meat and cheese plate. But everything we had was perfect. Sotto keep it up like that and you will be #1 in Cincinnati soon, you are for me.
