   Ariana was our waitress. She is excellent. Food was tremendous and service was perfect. Sotto is our "go to" for family celebrations. Asked for recommendations on a dry white wine and was offered several in different price levels, which was very thoughtful.

   Love the ambience, more of a speakeasy but cozy. Food was phenomenal with subtle sauces and flavors we couldn’t get enough of. We ordered the Branzino, which did not come whole much to my daughters delight. Wonderful mild filet with crispy skin in a light sauce with white beans. Awesome! The Cappellacci was ordered for the table, ravioli stuffed with short rib. Had a light buttery wine sauce. Worth it! Any of the breads are a hit. They were out of the Tartare that night so we tried the oil-packed tuna appetizer. What a fabulous trade off. Plan on the doughnuts being an automatic order at the end of the meal. Go, just go but plan ahead as they are very popular and reservations fill up.

   As with previous visits this one did not disappoint. Food and service was excellent. Love the dining room with dim lighting. Can be a bit noisy, but it is a lively atmosphere. Nice wine and cocktail list.

   What a wonderful experience! An impromptu visit to Sotto last night turned into a special evening. We received such special and knowledgeable treatment! Thank you to Charlie who immediately welcomed us to the table while Paxton was finishing up at another one. Great interaction, and found out that he and Brennan are good friends (Brennan and my husband know one another). Then it was all Paxton! We can't believe he's only been there for a short time! He knew the menu so well, with excellent delicious descriptions of the items, where some of the ingredients came from, and helped us make the right choices. His wine recommendation was superb! And went well with a variety of first and second courses. Service from him was personal, and made our evening great! In addition, thank you to the rest of the staff who delivered plates, food, took away plates, etc ... Excellent!

   We had a great first experience at Sotto! Brandon was our server and went through the entire menu with us, plus gave his honest recommendations to help us curate the best meal for us. He was enjoyable to talk to and would definitely be happy to have him again on our next visit! The goat cheese appetizer was awesome, but the true star was actually those ricotta donuts and hazelnut mousse! (Truly all the food was great though!) We loved the dark and moody vibe, drinks were excellent, even the bathrooms were lovely. It feels like a world away from the bustle of downtown Cincinnati. Absolutely will be back!!

    Simply the best. Always a top notch experience from the service to the food to the ambiance. One of our all time favorite restaurants - one we can always count on to be excellent. I love going with a group and eating family-style. I’ve tried so many things that I wasn’t sure I would like (chicken liver!) and ended up being delicious!

    Amazing!! Got a last minute reservation by setting alerts for openings and had a nice date night. It was phenomenal. I tried something new this time, it was hard to stay away from the Capellaci, but the cacio e pepe was delicious as well!

    Food was delicious and came out gradually at the perfect time, great espresso martinis and Leah was an awesome server. Both of our first times eating at Sotto and both are looking forward to coming back! Beautiful ambiance, as well.

    As always the food at Sotto is delicious and the service spectacular. The problem with Sotto is the music is too loud and it’s too dark. Just tone down the music slightly so you can have a conversation without screaming. If nothing else lighten up the stairwell bc I almost fell down the steps after coming in from the sun. It’s dangerous and having to use the flashlight on your cellphone is obnoxious to the guests at the table around you.

    From the moment you enter Sotto to the first steps out of the door after an amazing dinner, the staff is warm, inviting, and on top of their game. The menu doesn’t change much, but that’s part of the charm. You know what to expect from Sotto and they never fail to deliver. The wine choice are plentiful and the cocktails are always expertly crafted. Every time I’ve been to Sotto it has been a 5 out of 5 experience and this time was no different.

    Originally from the east coast, I come from a large Italian family. Being in the mid west it’s hard to find a good authentic Italian style meal. This is my second time here and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I brought my mother this time and she was over the moon with how good everything was, it made her feel like we were back home! We will be back for more great food!

    Sotto is our favorite for world class service and truly exceptional Italian cuisine. The preparation for the Branzino is simple, rustic, and so decadent. I’ve ordered twice within just a few weeks! They also prepared lower sodium linguine alle vongole for us and it was divine. Can’t wait to go back!

    Started with the goat cheese, hazelnut honey grilled bread. The bread was fresh, and the goat cheese was light and paired with the honey superbly, while the hazelnuts gave a nice crunch. Shared the wood-fired branzino with escarole, white beans and peperoncini. Seared and cooked to perfection, this was one of the best seafood dishes around town. The fish was meaty, and not "fishy." The crisp on the skin was perfect. The beans, typical, seemed canned, could actually change this and use something else, it did not detract from the fish, but added nothing to the dish. Next, we each went our own ways on the pasta dish, but obviously had to share and try. The pappardelle alla vaccinara with braised oxtail, tomato and pine nuts, was heavenly. The oxtail was tender, the sauce was excellent, but the star of this dish, the fresh, and when I say fresh, I mean prepared to order, pappardelle pasta. The cacio e pepe with tonnarelli, black pepper and pecorino, was superb. The cheesiness, and the freshness and snap of the noodle, made this dish shine. Cooked to the perfect doneness, this pasta dish was a big hit. On the drinks department, we had the lusso d'arte with mezcal, italicus, earl grey, lemon and lavender, and this drink was everything you can expect from mezcal. The perfect drink with the hints of the agaze mixed in with the lavender, and a backend note of the earl grey left us wanting more. The piccolo fiore with gin, amaretto, black raspberry liqueur, lemon, and prosecco, was a miss. Unless you enjoy a swig of robitussin, you might skip this one. Something about all the combinations of flavors, made this one seem as though it came straight from the medicine cabinet. Overall, this place was perfect. The service was excellent, the timing of food, fairly quick, and the wait staff, some of the friendliest and helpful in town. Although, after 6pm, the noise level does tend to get higher, it still makes for an excellent venue for the perfect Italian meal.

    Sotto continues to serve up an awesome experience. The food, drinks and service are amazing. The food is perfectly portioned to try different things and share, but not feel over or underwhelmed by the amount. My only suggestion would to be to add a NA beer alongside the NA cocktails.

    Never disappoints! I only find occasional normal dinner hour reservations here but when I find one, I grab it. Forever the Casio e Pepe is the #1 thing to order, but everything I have ever tried is great. I also LOVE the pistachio cream sauce that comes with the doughnuts.

    The food was amazing, the capallaci is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The goat cheese bread is so simple, yet delicious. My only issue is that the restaurant is just so loud. Yes, everyone is having an amazing time, but there is nothing to dampen the sound.
