What Insiders Are Saying
Sotto 13 is a reliable option for a West Village bottomless brunch or happy hour.
It was great until the kitchen started cutting up jalepeno peppers and everyone in the restaurant started coughing. It was really hard to breath and extremely discomforting.
People let’s not get crazy. This is a decent mid-week place with solid drinks, pizza and pasta. For that, it’s good. But not a go to place.
Great food and cool place!
Our waitress was a bit slow but we overall had a great experience. We ordered a bottle of wine and then the buratta and meatball appetizers. The fig butter that comes with the buratta was fantastic. The meatballs with ricotta on top were perfectly cooked (I find that a lot of places tend to burn meatballs). What can I say about the margarita pizza - it was amazing. Absolutely amazing. We also had the spaghetti pomodoro and it was perfectly cooked. I loved this dinner. The outdoor seating is lovely. We also got the nutella donut holes for dessert and they were delicious. I will definitely be going back.
Parents 40th Anniversary brunch
Service was good, but the place was very noisy, and the primary flavor in the food was salt.
It is just a nice casual place to go to once in a while. Nothing remarkable but pleasant and delicious
The noise there was too loud.
Walking distance from Standard Hotel. Greeted and seated promptly. Front area was just tables and bar and the back area seems more festive. Waiter was attentive and came by frequently. Made recommendations when we had questions. Loved the meatballs and my sweet potato gnocchi. The lamb shank was okay. Thank you.
Social Brunch was why we picked this place - sharing great food, cocktails and a booth. Loved the truffle mushroom wood-fired pizza! Excellent service - plan to return!
This was my 2nd visit to Sotto 13. I had such high expectations after a great first visit. This time as a little bit of a letdown. We got the Social brunch both times but on this visit everything was brought at once very quickly- wasn't spaced out at all. Felt very rushed. So by the time we got to eating the pizza it was cold. On the first visit the pizza was delivered first. Then came the breakfast dishes and side dish - which was much preferred. I will give it a try again but will ask for better timing in the way the food comes out.
It was great!!!
Very nice staff, everyone smiled at us and we were well attended. At least 5 people said goodbye to us on the way out. So friendly! Food was delicious, as always.
Quick, good service. Delicious meal.
Food was delicious. The mushroom pizza is amazing. Great service.
Everything was perfect ! Amazing service and food !
I visit New York from Baltimore 4-6 times per year. I was looking for some new restaurants away from the touristy areas of the city. I found Sotto 13 in a list of best boozy brunches in NYC. Loved that it was in a Brownstone in the West Village. Restaurant was beautiful on the inside. The menu was inventive - we did the Social Brunch pre-fix. We had the Shroom pizza, the Focaccia French toast, the Waffle bit and crispy potatoes. We also got the build your own Prosecco Bar which included Raspberry and Peach puree, fresh raspberries and blackberries, Peach schnapps and another liquor. We enjoyed it all and even though we shouldn't have we finished just about everything - it was so good. Atmosphere, food, drinks and service were all excellent! We also saw a group of 10 enjoying the social brunch and just seemed like the perfect thing for a group of friends. We will definitely be back when we are back in New York in March.
second time to Sotto 13 for a special occasion, they are awesome! food, service, everything. very enjoyable.
Great food and ambiance! Waiter was nice.
Overall Sotto 13 was very good. Food was great but the service could have been a little more attentive. Plus it was hot inside so it was slightly uncomfortable. Meatballs, arancini, and pizzas were very tasty. Would go back but there are a lot of other choices in the city to try.
Great Pizzas and Apps. The service was great and the price was very reasonable!
We waited almost an hour to be seated, totally okay with the waiting part. There was a big party happening so we understood. However, when it comes to ordering our waiter was not the friendliest, I don’t eat pork so I asked if we can get the pizza without “ham” .. he responded NO , kitchen doesn’t do that .. I’ve never had that experience before , how hard is it to omit ham from pizza !! Very disappointed with our service but overall we enjoyed our time.
Dinner was fare at best . Met some friends that I haven’t seen in a while . Well I saw them but I couldn’t hear them. Food was just OK. I couldn’t hear myself think. Never ever will I go back there . Skip this place.
only ever been for din and brunch and loved it so i wanted to try happy hour. it gets very crowded during hh so would rec getting there by 530-545 latest if u want to sit. the waitress gave us a heavy pour👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 and the service was very prompt. tuna tartare and flatbread was delicious and prices were fair. will def be back 🤗
From the moment we walked in to the moment we left I felt welcome. Nothing was an issue. A real positive experience. The hostess sat us our waitress came over with a smile and a warm welcome took our order and checked on us. Refilled our water frequently and was just great! The food was delicious, especially the pizza! Looking forward to going back!
We had dinner there on a Sunday evening. We thought the food was really good. My husband especially enjoyed his pizza. I ordered the cauliflower side dish which was fabulous. The service was very friendly and the ambiance was warm and inviting and not too noisy. We could actually hear each other talking.
Everyone loved their meals!
Beautiful enclosed casual garden seating.
Not too noisy.
We will be returning soon.
My only complaint is that the music was very loud and a bit too energetic for dining. I was barely able to hear the conversation from the person sitting next to me. I prefer soft background music when I dine. The staff was very accommodating when asked to turn down the music to a more comfortable level.
Loved everything. Great food with excellent value.
Overall my eating experience of the place was nice , but it’s a noisy place for dinner conversations.
Interesting and delightful menu, excellent service and wonderful booths for groups!
The waiter was disrespectful and rushed us. Brought out appetizers and entrees at the same time despite our protests. They did give us 2free drinks but in a cursory and rude way. The hostess was also curt.
I have been here many times and the service is usually exemplary so maybe it was just a really very off night.
There were 3 of us dining the evening we went. We all had different dishes, 2 different pasta dishes and a Bronzino special, and tasted each one. They were all spectacular, especially the pasta with lamb & lobster. Prepared simply yet elegantly, allowing the ingredients to sparkle!!
Pleasant staff, good food, nice atmosphere, but a bit loud.
Nice atmosphere and great food. Highly recommended.
Sotto 13 is very consistent in every aspect (food, service, etc.) I will absolutely return.
Loved it. 2nd time there. This time, ate outside on small patio. Pepperoni pizza with jalopena and meatballs with ricotta both outstanding apps. Great Linguini with veal ragu, a standout, and the chicken dish was delicious and ample. Service was great as well. Our new go to for great meals
We were in nyc for a week and I had to visit Sotto 13 twice it was that amazing. Their watermelon frose is out of this world! We started with arancini, and both had a pasta and a pizza to split. the homemade sauce is my absolute favorite. I wish I lived closer to make that my regular weekly dinner spot. The service is fantastic. The owner remembered us upon arrival and graciously greeted us. Everything about this restaurant is fabulous! I would highly recommend it! Cannot wait to come back to visit!
Small menu but Excellent selection. Everything was memorable. We will be back!
It was the perfect place for a Friday night get together with 8 friends! We ordered a bunch of pizzas to share, the large tables had plenty of space for groups, the wine and beer was great, and the massive skylight near the back just pulled the entire experience together. We even had a 1.5 year old and a stroller and did not feel squished at all!
