Beautiful spot on a quiet street. Got the pomodoro pasta and caesar salad - very delicious. Great ambiance and a great evening. Would be the perfect date spot
Asked the waiter specifically while ordering, if it was a bottomless brunch, he confirmed yes and we can refills for the drinks. When we finished our first round of mimosas, and wanted to get a second round of refills for the carafe, he then said its extra charge. At $39 PP, it was not a fair value in my opinion. And a extra mimosas for carafe would have been $40, so we decided to go to another round for more drinks.
We found this place on Google, and what interested me was the boozy brunch. Went with 2 girlfriends and loved the place. The servers were super polite from the time you step in , to them walking you to your table, the the menu, food and drinks.
We loved the family style service as were were able to try small portions of different foods. The atmosphere was friendly and the music perfect volume.
I would rate it a 5. Definitely recommend it.
Absolutely delicious pasta. Only negative is the outside dining is very close to the bike lane. I will definitely be back.
Fast service, great food.
Food was great, music not too loud, service not so great. We wanted more food and drinks and had to hunt down the waiter. The busboy was helpful bringing out the additional food that sat and waited to be picked up.
Also: no one working there was wearing masks. Not the maitre d, not the waiter not the guys making the pizzas. Not cool and will not return because of that. The patrons wore more masks than the staff. C’mon guys. Do better! Stop the spread!
We're not usually around town for dinner on a Saturday evenings but we've always enjoyed Sotto 13 and were able to get a reservation. We had an excellent meal, and the restaurant went out of its way to seat us, since there were parties who'd paid but refused to leave so that their tables could be re-set. We preferred to dine inside, and the host actually moved a table from the sidewalk back into the restaurant for us. Unfortunately, there was a huge, loud (obnoxious, actually) party in the back of the restaurant that also refused to leave, and brought their loud conversations out into the rest of the restaurant. Our waiter was very apologetic, but it was not possible to move them out. I don't know if it's like this every weekend, but when we return (and we will) it won't be on Saturday night. My complaint has nothing to do with Sotto 13, since the offending party outnumbered the restaurant's staff, but with the rude people in the party who seemed completely unaware that their behavior affected every other diner. I hope some of them read my review.
Such a nice time!
Great food, ambience and time. The spicy pizza was one of the best I've had in some time.
the vegetables were excellent, the hangar steak, halibut and carbonara all quite satisfying.
Fresh simple food, well prepared. Casual ambiance with a quick, knowledgeable and friendly staff. It's one of the few places I can go with friends where we can have a wonderful conversation without shouting. Highly recommend.
We really liked the place, the food. The man who took us to our table was AMAZING. So nice and helpful. Got us a great table even though we originally had outdoor seats. It was too cold and somehow he got me inside and it ended up being packed. Really loved my food and drink. My son lives there and will be going back often!!! Wish I new the mans name that sat us.
The food was good but it wasn’t enough especially for the price.
Had the best time with a small group of us. The space is so light and open. The food was fantastic! Even though it wasn’t bottomless drinks it was totally worth the price and worked out great! There was plenty of food to go around. We left super happy and full!
Sotto 13 is an excellent Italian restaurant on 13th street. We were seated on time, the staff was friendly and attentive. The wine list was limited but the staff had excellent recommendations and the wine was very good and reasonable. The food was also top notch. They had a black linguini with clams that was fantastic. We were not rushed and their outdoor seating is very comfortable.
We were fortunate to find you on yelp & had a wonderful dinner. It started pouring rain right after we arrived so the restaurant never got overcrowded. The food was delicious & the ambiance was delightful.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE. WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND
Food had no flavor and portions are small the carafes are mason jars
Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating. We went for dinner and dinner was delicious. We plan to go back for brunch.
The music was bumping, Tiësto bangers at a high volume.
We were seated in doors, but the times we’ve sat outside have been very pleasant
The food is fine. Not bad, not great.
The carbonara had way too much sauce. Needed more bacon for flavor.
It's a nice place. The acoustics are terrible. It's way too loud. The crowd is a very young drunk NYU type crowd. (but it was a Friday night). Might be better earlier in the week. The server was a bit pushy. We got the entree while we were still eating the apps and the restaurant was not about to close. It's terrible to receive the entree when you are still eating the appetizer. You need a few minutes to breathe in between meals.
I came here on a rainy Sunday for brunch--honestly, a perfect restaurant for that kind of day because the West Village in the rain is lovely. Sotto 13 has a great weekend brunch deal too. For $39 per person, you get a big mason jar of a cocktail (ours was the equivalent of 4 cocktails for two people), one side, one large dish, and two smaller brunch dishes.
We ordered the champagne mule, side of potatoes, the mushroom truffle pizza, waffle BLT, and black currant french toast. We loved eeeeverything except the potatoes (next time I'd try the bacon instead, because the potatoes were just meh). I especially loved the french toast (nice and crispy, not too oily) and the waffle BLT (the sauce was really tasty). We were so full that we could only finish half the pizza, so we got the rest of it to go.
I would definitely come back here for brunch; it's great for large parties too, because there's quite a lot of space (the back room has a nice sky light).
Incredibly friendly staff, a comfortable environment and fresh dishes I’m looking forward to going back to again soon.
Lovely atmosphere! Excellent service and food! Highly recommend
Our party of four really enjoyed our meal, including my friend who is gluten free. He said it’s one of the best gf pizzas he has had!
They were kind enough to seat me even though my guest had cancelled. The service was very good. My wine and tuna tartare appetizer were outstanding. The Branzino was a little overdone but the haricot vert were very nice. All in all a good meal and a lovely Friday evening out.
Great seats under a beautiful skylight, very attentive (and fast!) service. High-quality Italian food and delicious cocktails- we will be back!
We were there for a wedding day brunch. We had a wonderful time and the food was excellent.
Great food, service and ambience! I hadn’t really heard of this place before but would definitely go back. A great Saturday night dinner spot!
My husband and I went out for an early (5:30p) dinner Saturday night. We had the best experience at Sotto 13. The place is so modern and cute. We sat at a high top booth table in the sunlight room. Service was absolutely perfect - never felt rushed but he was always there when we were ready for next course, refills, etc. Food was amazing. We shared Brussels sprouts and arancini for apps. Then my husband had the pomodora with added spicy ground sausage. I had the carbonara with added grilled chicken. All delicious and good sized portions. Moderately priced for NYC. Two apps, two entrees, two cocktails, and two sodas - $96 before tip. Worth every penny!
It was a very nice place to eat. Great deal for brunch, and great drinks.
Good but service was not nice and made us want to leave when we weren't done yet
First time eating here with a friend for his birthday. The food and service was very good and the staff was really nice when I sneaked them a few birthday candles while my friend was in the bathroom. They asked me his name, and they came out with the Tiramasu singing "Happy Birthday" with the candles lit. I would return again, even if there isn't a birthday to celebrate.
Third visit. Always love the food! And staff is friendly
I have been to sotto 13 for a work holiday party, brunch, and casual dinner and I have not yet been disappointed. Food is always delicious and the ambiance is great for events ranging from a dinner with friends to a romantic date.
Birthday. They sat us in the front because the back room was full. We had to ask to change our table. The only thing I didn’t enjoy about the front room was that the music was too loud. But once we sat in the main room. It was spacious and bright and the music was manageable. Other than that. The food was amazing and the service. Thank you it was a wonderful experience. The vegan gluten free pizza was amazing
The Brunch was fabulous and Wirth the price
Always predictably great and friendly and efficient staff!
great food and service. Do the brunch that is served family style
Wow what an amazing place to go to for an anniversary with some of the fastest and nicest service that I have had in NYC in a while! So looking forward to going back soon!
