Soto is our favorite restaurant due to the food quality, presentation, and overall experience. Their sushi is top quality and their otoro risotto dish is the most delicious thing we’ve ever tasted.
Had the Omakase, on par with many of the top sushi restaurants in LA and NYC. Great staff, very kind. They stayed late for our late reservation.
Very good service.
Food is so amazing.
I recommend my friend.
What a beautiful experience! This is a must hit when ever in Cincinnati
Good variety of high quality sushi, sashimi, nigiri and rolls.
Outstanding sushi in a hidden location. What a gem to find this place while visiting Austin. We will be back and highly recommend this great Restaurant. Our waiter, Scott, couldn’t have been more professional and excellent with recommendations. Items to order: Fire Salmon, Tuna Flight, Salmon Potatoe Chip, Brussel Sprouts, White Tiger Maki. Monday Happy lasts all day and includes sushi.
Food excellent. Service not so great, kind of tainted the experience.
Ran out of Diet Coke really? Like any other restaurant, they need more people. Service, while waiters did what they could, food took a long time to be served. For the price, I’ll probably give it a time before going there again.
Fantastic food and service. Certainly one of the best Japanese restaurants in Austin.
Spent time at the bar before eating. Pleasant bartender named Chris made great drinks utilizing fruit-infused vodkas prepared onsite. The drink made with mango/habanero infused vodka was my favorite. The food was excellent and presented well.
The food was great! Every piece of sushi was meticulously dressed with delicious seasonings, micro greens, editable flowers. The presentation of each dish is dramatic. Lots of truffle oil which I loved. The chocolate foie gras was one of the most amazing things I have ever tasted.
Always a positive experience. Slightly pricey (compared with some of the other top sushi joints in Austin), but the fish is always fresh and the service tends to be top notch as well.
Amazing super fresh sushi! So far the best Sushi restaurant in Austin, I’d even say better than Uchiko.
Very good sushi Not americanized and they have very high quality fish but it comes at a price just like any great sushi. Not the best value because I spent 200 and was still hungry but it almost the best. I compare it to Zushi Puzzle in San Francisco.
Our server Nate was very gracious and took the very best care of us. Very kind and knowledgeable staff. Food was delicious and the drink menu was very fun! Overall, great experience. Excited to be coming back soon!
Such a great restaurant. I’ve been here the last two times I was in Austin. The menu is fun and creative - it’s hard to choose because everything looks so interesting. The service staff is knowledgeable but very approachable. Highly recommend.
The service was unbelievable and the food as always was fantastic! I LOVE THIS PLACE!
Waiter (Shawn/Shane?) was very attentive and intuitive to our needs. His recommendations from Sake to dishes was spot on. The presentation was impressive and the food was delicious but a bit pricey in some cases ($60 for the Kobe Beef Ishiyaki feels a bit much, but we ordered it and loved it nonetheless). The Fire Salmon is a must for the experience. The Chef’s Choice Special Sushi and Sashimi was well worth the price of admission. And the Tuna with truffle oil stole the show. All-in-all an expensive meal, but we thoroughly enjoyed every bit and sip.
upscale sushi at an upscale price. Better than your average wine and dine sushi restaurant but not by much. Wait staff was excellent but for the price...the sushi was not up to its price point.
The service is more than 5 stars. Food is creative and presentable. Cost is reasonable comparing to another high-end Japanese restaurants. Authentic. Thanks for the team spirit.
Excellent quality Sushi with menu items not found elsewhere. Reasonable prices and high quality service. Absolutely will return.
Overall everything great! Food was excellent. The lighting felt a slightly cool and bright which wasn't super pleasant for an evening out with my wife. Warmer / dimmer lighting might have brought the ambiance score up a little.
First time to Soto. Did not disappoint! We will be back!
Soto is an unexpected gem in Cedar Park. I honestly don't know what it's doing there. The food is elevated Japanese, not just your basic sushi and tempura. They have a great sake selection, as well. And our server remembered us from our last, not-very-recent visit. Really excellent!
A must stop when traveling to Austin. Very affordable lunch. Exceptional price quality ration.
The greatest sushi experience we have had. Excellent presentation and flavor combinations. Totally unexpected. We will be back!
Delicious food, presentation & awesome staff!
Always fresh & delicious!
Amazing staff - extremely polite and friendly
Great job! I will return.
We typically love Soto - but this time everything seemed too salty - so I was disappointed. The sushi was very fresh and tender - but it seemed too salty - maybe it was the rice.
Otherwise we had a great time. Scott, our waiter, was a lot of fun and gave us great service.
This is one of THE BEST sushi experiences in the Austin area! That tuna truffle dish is addictive. Love Soto sashimi roll. Everything was fresh and cocktails were exceptional. When I can’t get to Uchiko or Uchi, I gladly drive to Soto in Cedar Park and prefer it to Soto Austin (less pretentious).
The staff MAKES this place. Also the food is Delicious
Scott, our waiter was very knowledgable. The food was delicious. We had a very enjoyable dinner.
By far the best Restaurant I've eaten since I arrived in Austin !
I had reservations for myself and my friend. It was to celebrate her Birthday and I specified that. First of all, the food at Soto is exquisite and very worth the price. The service must match in excellence. Our waitress, Tara, was extremely unfriendly and inattentive. She seemed predominantly preoccupied with clearing our table and expediting our dining experience. Never smiled, never made any suggestions, explained about any specials or simply welcomed us. We were given only 1 menu and she took that away also. We might have ordered more items. To top it off, there was never a mention of the Birthday. When our desserts came out, there was not a candle. Neighboring tables with different waiters were all getting the attention that we deserved and were paying for. $220 for dinner for 2. We only tipped her 10% and that was excessive and she didn't deserve it. She definitely shouldn't be working with the public.
Fish was mediocre - was really excited because their offer looked great but the presentation and cut quality was just bad.... they attempted to do a traditional style nigiri offering but they just Hobbes wasabi underneath and most of their fish was blan. You could tell the prep everything before the shift so it wasn’t fresh cuts which leads to drying out of the fish and kills a lot of the flavor. Real bummer considering the price was not cheap. Won’t be back.
I personally hate sushi but I loved this place!!! It's pretty pricy, but if you can go at happy hour that helps out some! Food is top notch and so is the wait staff! Food is quick to come out and comes kind of in courses. Really loved it!!!! I'll definitely be back! Really nice setting for a date night or special occasion.
Great food and service!! We will be back!
It was our 20th Anniversary and Soto made our evening very special. The service was excellent. The food was spectacular.
I have been eating at Soto for six years and it is always a relaxing and fulfilling experience. There are many vegetarian options and Soto is the best sushi restaurant in Austin.
Food taste was good
