Italian
Sorrento’s Ristorante at Tsillan Cellar’s owner, Dr. Bob Jankelson, admits that the food of Italy captured him before he developed his interest in wine. Dozens of teaching trips to Italy instilled an appreciation of Italian cuisine paired with food friendly wine shared with friends and family. The same meticulous attention to detail evident in Tsillan Cellars stunning Italian architecture and grounds, transfers to a kitchen that brings world class dining to the shores of Lake Chelan. In winter, the inviting Italian fireplace and panoramic views of Lake Chelan and snow clad mountains blend with award winning food and wine to leave indelible memories. Outstanding ambiance, food, wine and service--- four reasons Sorrento’s Ristorante at Tsillan Cellars was named OpenTable Top 100 Scenic Restaurants in America in 2014.

Roasted beet salad should have cooked beets not hard as a brick. Food seemed low quality. Canned and frozen ingredients.

Been there several times... This is the first time the food was not a good as expected. Chicken Marsala was dry. Meatballs were dry. Roasted beets seemed under cooked.

We visited Chelan to take in fall barrel tasting. It was a treat to finish off our day at Sorrento’s. We sat on the outer edge of the dining room, ambiance was beautiful and noise minimal given the open seating. We paired our meal with the reserve Malbec for an elegant evening. Our server was attentive and kind. We didn’t meet chef but the kitchen was on point with each dish.

Sorrento's is a local favorite and by tourists, located at Tsillian Winery conveniently offers their full selection of wine in the restaurant. This time we visited for Thanksgiving, the traditional buffet with all the fixings also included prime rib. The quality, preparation, and taste of all the food was excellent. The cost per person was only $35.00 including an array of dessert selections. Highly recommend!

Food was tasty, however our enjoyment of it was negatively impacted by A female server who wore a strong perfume that we could smell each time she walked near our table. Really?

The Caesars had a tasty dressing, but was one single whole leaf of romaine. My wife had the prim filet. Cooked perfectly, good flavor and texture. I had the prawn and scallop pasta. Pasta cooked perfectly, scallops appeared to have just been boiled....no flavor at all, prawns were ok at best. The pasta dish had literally no seasoning making the whole bowl very bland. Most definitely not a $32 pasta dish. Our server spent more time chatting near the wine bar than hustling like the other servers. 15 mins after finishing I had to ask another server for our check. 3 stars only because they nailed the filet.

Spectacular views and ambiance. We had the scallops, steak, and the lava cake. The food was cooked perfectly and the Syrah was delicious. Even the happy hour was impressive! This is a beautiful place with great wait staff and amazing food. A definite “must visit place”

The setting is lovely and the service was fine, but the food got mixed reviews. My roasted beet salad and clams were very good. However, I can see see how some people might be taken aback by the pepper flakes in the clams. I like spicy food, but if you don't, ask them to leave the pepper flakes out. My husband did not like his cannaloni and did not finish his meal. The crusty baguette with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was excellent-I judge a restaurant by its bread.

Brought wrong meal even though waitress already knew it was wrong when she brought it. Then had to wait 20 minutes for correct meal. Waitress had promised to discount price for her mistake, then "forgot" to do so.
Food was good though, but portions very small.

Wonderful friendly service. Good food. I enjoyed the cannelloni fruit de mer with shrimp (described as prawns but were shrimp) & scallops, flavorful & filling portion. Other dining companions had the following: a) side meat balls & side risotto which was reportedly very good b) linguine il crustaceo which was disappointing, not flavorful & was shrimp NOT prawns as advertised c) chicken marsala which was reportedly good d) filet which was so delicious she ate it all! e) side gnocchi cremoso & side meat balls also reportedly very good.
Drawback was that it was SO loud we had a difficult time conversing with one another, disappointing in that we were celebrating our friend's upcoming nuptials. Also they put the 6 of us at a 48" round which felt tight on space given the lovely succulent centerpiece, 2 plates of bread (yum!) and all of our wine & water glasses, plates & flatware.
A bit too warm interior temperature for some of us & they had all the doors closed (chilly eve). The grounds are gorgeous & I would definitely recommend going during daylight hours to see the view of the lake. Beautiful interior with high ceilings & expised wood beams. Softly lit.

We treated ourselves to dinner at Sorrento’s after a long weekend in Chelan, Wa. We wished we had made an earlier reservation because the view is fantastic! Although we arrived after sunset and didn’t see too much of the view, the dining room was very nicely appointed with a fireplace and ambiance. The service was great and the food/wine delicious! We will definitely be coming back on our next trip through this area.

Had a party of 9, weighter brought 8 pieces of bread. He then broke a glass, dropped silverware, delivered a chicken Marsala dish that said had mushrooms on the menu but none were on the plate & we asked him about it, instead of asking the cooks he instantly just said it doesn’t come with any. The portions were ridiculously small for the price. Pasta is cheap to make & the portions could easily fit in the palm of my hand. Of all 9 dishes we ordered only 1 had any flavor to it at all, the rest were bland & tasteless. Mashed potatoes had no seasoning in them, the butternut squash ravioli was so sugary & sweet I couldn’t even finish them. The cannelloni meat sauce had a mushy texture. The chicken on the Alfredo was a plain boiled piece of meat, disgusting. Over all super disappointed as this was my wedding dinner. Not only was the food terrible we then had to pay the mandatory 20% gratuity for bad service.

Service was good as always. Server was attentive. The manager is very attentive and always greets us

Caesar salad was poor. Small with too large of croutons truly disappointing.

I had the Chicken Marsala. The chicken was dry and not tasteful. Small portion of vegetables and mashed potatoes.

My wife had the cannelloni and it was good.

My overall impression is that portions have been downsized and quality Friday was not as good as we are accustomed to here.

I wish I could have tried the restaurant. I got a message on my cell phone saying that my reservation was not valid since the restaurant had a private event or something on the same date. Spent a week end in Chelan with my family to celebrate a birthday and had to change plans at the last moment because of this. Luckily I found a different winery that was open that evening, good food and good wine there :-), Sorrento... I don't know.

We had a 5:15 reservation for my birthday on a Saturday night. We were going to be seated at a four top in the middle of the restaurant. I asked for a four top by a window and was told that was reserved. I over heard the hostess tell another girl they were saving it for a co workers mother. I stated that I too had a reservation and really wanted a table by the window. A manager got involved and told me they needed the table to extend it at 7:15. He was kind and helpful, the hostess not so much. It colored my entire dinner. I was really disappointed in our initial experience

The dining room for a lovely winery, Sorrento’s needs a manager. It was packed, including two huge tables of teenage girls there for a 18th birthday party and a dozen senior ladies on a wine tasting adventure. Three waiters and 2-3 bus boys attempting to manage the full room - meanwhile 3-4 wine stewards stood behind the large bar with little to do. Need’s a good manager, as our dinners proved.
Our dinners were lovely, but my wife’s Cannelloni came out almost cold. Sent it back and it came back lukewarm. Meanwhile I sat there watching my Alfredo get cold until I gave up and started eating it. Finally on the third try the kitchen got it right and we finished up. They comped the Cannelloni, but we really should have just shared the Alfredo and let it go.
Loved the winery buildings, the scenery and the wine.
