This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Houston. The menu, the wine list, the FOOD were top notch. Everything was the best and can hardly wait until we can return A special thank you to our server Fernando; he was very welcoming and well-informed. Much appreciated!

This is our favorite date restaurant in Houston. The piano player is what really sets this place apart from everywhere else and creates the perfect classic date ambiance. If you are looking for an ideal special date night in Houston while eating some great Italian food, this would be my go-to recommendation.

GF and my BD’s are few days apart and decided on Sorrento again for this occasion. Staff knows us, place is warm, food and service is great, piano player is great. The valet took the flowers and GF’s gift out of the trunk at the right time and the staff presented to the GF at exactly the right time. GF was the envy of every women in the place. Can’t say anything better. Great place. Never disappointed.

I went for my friend’s Bachelorette party. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They made us feel so special. The food was phenomenal. The prices were very fair, especially considering how well you’re taken care of and the beautiful atmosphere. Highly reccomend and def hope I get an opportunity to head that way again!

The food and service were their usual excellence. This was to celebrate a friend's birthday, but they have piano music in the evenings which can make it special for romantic dinners, anniversaries, or other special occasions. We have been enjoying Sorrento's for many years and we expect to return again and again.

What separates Sorento for others is the ambience and high level of service. Guests are made to feel special from the moment you enter the door and the servers are of the highest quality. We have dined at Sorento with two different couples, and both have promised to return. Excellent food. Excellent service.
That's what you want.

Absolutely delicious! We were referred to Sorrento by my son's girlfriend. My husband had the bone-in veal with cognac mushrooms. Wonderful! I had the lasagne which was the best sauce I have ever tasted. The service by Sergio and the staff was excellent. The variety of bread was a nice surprise. We loved the anchovy bread. I had a specialty martini with strawberry and pomegranate which was also wonderful! Loved the art and pianist as well. We will be back and will tell all our friends. Worth the drive. Such a nice treat for my birthday.

Just moved into the neighborhood and my wife and I took my college age son there on his first visit to Houston, and it worked, he's super impressed with Houston! Dinner was great, each course was a delight, and the mushroom risotto to start things off was a great call, a must have in my opinion! Wine was great, food was great, dessert was great... and Fernando was the best, I'll be asking for him every time back, and I can guarantee that I'll be back!

The concierge at Hotel ZaZA suggested this place Loved the atmosphere! My husband had just completed his first chemo treatment and spoke to the waiter about his dietary needs and they delivered the perfect dish for him to eat. The bread basket they bring around is amazing. I had the butternut squash ravioli and it was delicious. We will be back.

Food was good, bc it was chilly outside we ate inside/bar area-very loud. Our 9 year old daughter was with us. Bar crowd dropping F bombs----and loud enough for us to hear across the bar at our table. Felt really sorry for the elderly couple at the other end of the bar who had to endure the foul language up close and personal.

My brother took me here a few years ago for a business lunch.
Since then, I have taken my girls for casual and incredible dinners.
Mind you, This is a fancy place. For us, it is a neighborhood "GEM" that exceeds our expectations!
The food is Delicious! The piano player plays wonderful, memorable songs and sets a beautiful tone for the evening. Everything that
I have ever eaten here is fabulous!!
I love the various squash and lobster bisque soups.
The salads are crunchy with flavor flair. The raviolis and lasagnas, veal are lovely.
The freshly baked bread selection is tremendous! Their service is impeccable!

If you are looking for some delectable, try Sorrento. It is the place that I wish I could walk to for my whole life!

We regularly enjoy Sorrento. The wait staff has been changing, with some of the more experienced hands leaving. We were seated at a nice table in the back dining room. The food was a good or better than usual. Unfortunately, we were somewhat forgotten by our waiter, the bread server and the bussers. I think this was just an unusual night. We will be back.

My wife and I dine out regularly but wanted to try something new. I always use Yelp because I trust my fellow Houstonian foodies. So when I read all the positive reviews, I made a reservation. We arrived to find a beautiful restaurant with a very inviting bar which we sat at until dinner. We were pleasantly greeted by the very nice hostess (name escapes me) and seated at what will now be our favorite table each time. The pianist will play anything you request even if it's Elton John and he's fantastic. Pedro waited on us and made us feel like we were regulars. The service was impeccable as was the food; over the top excellent. Not sure how we managed never to have dined at Sorrento but we will frequent this gem often. It's a must try for any occasion.

Complimentary bread was served cold. I asked for hot bread and the server said I could not get warm bread. Had to talk to the waiter to have warm bread sent to the table. Wanted garlic bread and was told it would take awhile to get garlic bread. Had to settle for wheat and sourdough bread. Gee, a Italian Restaurant that would not serve garlic bread.
The clam mussels that were included with my order was too hard to chew.
Will not revisit Sorrento.
Told lady in red dress “assume part of Management “ that the occasion was friend birthday. No one came to sing Happy Birthday, but other dining guests that had Birthday was given the nice treatment of Restaurant workers singing happy birthday. After they finished singing the song everyone in Restaurant clapped. I had to now tell the waiter about my friend birthday and the restaurant workers came over to sing the Birthday song. When they finished, no one in the restaurant clapped.
Never again will I revisit this Restaurant.

Just an incredible experience from start to finish! My girlfriend and I were celebrating our 1-year anniversary and Sorrento did not disappoint! The food and service were both exceptional. Add on two complimentary drinks and a dessert and we were made to feel like royalty on our special occasion. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive and personable. If this review sounds a little over-the-top, it's because our experience was *that* good. We will absolutely be back.

We had a great experience there but we both found the food to be bland. We love low salt, but herbs or other flavors were lacking. The duck with red wine reduction was flavorless, although the grilled veggies were wonderful.

The veal osso boco was cooked to perfection but the sauce was a bland marinara with no garlic, herbs or meat pan dripping flavors one would expect from a pricey restaurant. The service however, was impeccable.

Everything was great other than our table location. Reservations made well in advance and many tables open when we arrived. My wife and I were seated next to a service station and they were continually reaching around her to get to the serving items next to us. They have probably two tables too many in that area of the restaurant.
