Sorrento Ristorante Italiano
Excellent experience all the way around from the valet guy, to the reception person, to the wait staff! Live, upbeat ambience with live piano music in the background makes for a festive evening. The bread basket is always a treat before the food. Excellent taste and presentation for all courses and very authentic Italian flavors!! Highly recommended for a great evening out for celebration or just with friends! Great job guys; keep it up!
Starting with the valet our experience was simply exceptional. Service as good as anywhere in the city and food was fantastic.
Nice Restaurant with good ambiance. Only reason not 5 stars is that my wife's main course (special of the night) was a little bland. She needed to add salt and she NEVER does that. Otherwise a good place for dinner.
George is a great server and made our visit the more rewarding. This is in my top five restaurants in Houston.
Once again, the team at Sorrento provided most excellent service with absolutely delicious food. Thank you, Fernando and everyone.
Excellent food and service. Wonderful atmosphere. Best filet I ever had.
Overly crowded dinning area - too many small tables.
Food took too long to come out and the fish was under cooked.
A very bad dinning experience.
This is the Best Italian quality food and restaurant in Houston. The food is always exquisite and place is comfortable with either the quiet tables or tables near the piano playing relaxing music with amazing service. Enjoy ..BON APPETITO
I have eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants and this is the best dining experience I have had in a long time. I will definitely be returning. I made reservations to propose to my now fiancé and I let the restaurant know ahead of time and they made it very special. A special thanks to my waiter Ferdinand. Awesome dining experience.
One of the best restaurants for food quality, ambiance, and customer service inside the 610 loop!
Romantic and cozy spot with excellent food and great service. Definitely recommend for a date spot and for special occasions. Always warm and welcoming. Piano player adds a special touch. A special treat hidden in the Montrose. Cozy and Romantic with great food says it all.
Come here quite often but filet on Mar 2 was chewy as if I were eating a skirt steak. Cooked to the right temp but quite a disappointment.
Our server Madeline was exceptional!!! The best service we have ever had. The food was delicious and it was a great evening
Great dinner experience for a party of 7, food was fantastic. Recommended.
Beautiful, classy restaurant. Service and food are exceptional. Lunch special is a theee course meal very well served for $24.00
Piano during dinner makes the ambiance great
Last year, my girlfriend and I celebrated our first anniversary at Sorrento. It did not disappoint. In fact, it was one of the better dining experiences, all things considered, that we've shared together - a truly exceptional experience. We figured, why mess with a good thing? So we went back again this past Sunday to celebrate our second anniversary at Sorrento. Was everything as good as the first time? No, probably not. If last year was an A+ though, this year was still a solid A. The food was again outstanding. Our waiter was pleasant and considerate of our special occasion. I highly recommend Sorrento to anyone seeking a superior dining experience.
This meal was stunning. Fresh product, creative yet classic italian cuisine.
Another outstanding dinner! Food and service was fantastic! We look forward to our next visit!
The best Italian restaurant in Houston. Period.
Great place, great food! Our waiter, Raul, is the absolute best!
This is the perfect place for any celebrations/ dinning.
The food is A+, ambience is very nice and the piano music is extra added to the lovely dinner.I could request a song and the front desk lady was very helpful.
It was my husband birthday and we had a great time and service in Sorrento.
I highly recommend this restaurant and would love to go back.(they have vegetarian options too )
Enjoy! Thanks Sorrento and staff
Excellent meal! It wasn’t inexpensive but I thought it was a decent value. I’d definitely go back.
Great restaurant and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.
Overall good experience. Service is great, but the bread is cold. Little things like this make all the difference.
Sorrento's impressiveness starts when the staff greets you like a long-time friend. The 3-foot-diameter bread tray loaded with many kinds of sweet and savory pastries plus the whole roasted garlic with oil and vinegar plate make you feel like a hero from the start. The elegant presentations of the first courses, robust and flavorful main courses, and colorful deserts with the friendly and romantic atmosphere (live piano at night!) make Sorrento my go-to special and any-occasion extension of my dining room because every time I come here it makes me feel right at home.
Great food and loved the piano music.
I have dined here 3 times. Once for lunch, twice for dinner. It never disappoints. Perfect spot for a cozy date. The live piano music is a nice touch. Sorrento is a Montrose gem.
Sorrento continues to set the bar high for food quality and service in Houston. There is no restaurant that does it better. Food is excellent, service is impeccable without being pretentious. The table side risotto is a must try item. Great wine selection, extensive menu selection and personalized service that is second to none. Sorrento remains a top 3 restaurant for me when in Houston.
We go to Sorrento at least once a month a love everything about the restaurant.
Live music was the best
As expected wonderful food and service...piano adds a special feel to a romantic environment and just makes the evening a little more satisfying.
The atmosphere was really romantic. And the service was exquisite! I highly recommend this restaurant. Definitely one of my favorites!
This was Valentine Day. 3 string ensemble music added to the noise level. there were tables added for the evening. Unfortunately we sat at one added near the kitchen door. traffic was heavy food was good and bad. short ribs were very good. steak was tough.
Our Valentines Day experience was over the top in every way! The room was beautiful! The music was wonderful! The food was exceptionally good! The service was attentive, but not overbearing.
Huge disappointment! I requested the same table at which I had met my fiance in 2018 in order to make a proposal of marriage. I explained how important this was to me. They promised I could have it. A few days before, I called and reconfirmed the importance of having my table, and again asked if this would be a problem. Again, I was confidently assured that the restaurant would be happy to accommodate my wishes for my special night. Shortly before I arrived, I learned that restaurant owner Abas Hussein had reconfigured the room to squeeze a few more tables into it and decided I did not need to have my special evening as I had planned. I was offered NO compensation for this—not a bottle of wine, not a dessert, not an extra bread stick. When the Chilean sea bass came out cold, they asked if I would like to "take it home with me" (I suppose to have someone ELSE cook it properly). They did not offer me a properly-cooked entree. And this was all on top of the last disaster I had had at Sorrento, when--while I was paying for my $800.00 meal and helping my 89-year-old friend to her car, Sorrento TOWED MY FRIEND'S CAR (because it was 10:15 PM and they tow "everything in the lot" at 10:00 PM). On that occasion, too, Sorrento offered me no compensation. The quality of both food and service at Sorrento have deteriorated badly since this became one of my favorite Houston restaurants some years ago. I will NOT BE GOING BACK. If you go, do not expect to find a restaurant that has any pride in its offerings, or who will "make it good" for the client when something goes wrong. They will take your money, pat you on the back, and say, "We don't really care if you ever come back."
Set menu is always an issue for the V day table. Price is more than most others for the same type. Meat had to be sent back because it was too tough to chew. Portions were very small.
We were served by Edgar who is top notch! Went there on Valentine’s Day. The food was exquisite, service top notch, and both the grand pianist and violinist all came together to create a wonderful experience!
