Sorrentino's South Ratings and Reviews
Food was great, service was friendly but very slow. Definitely a place to go to and take your time at as they were not in any sort of hurry throughout the night. They were very accommodating to a few modifications I requested for my appetizer and meal which was appreciated!
I enjoyed a wonderful lunch with some dear friends. We had an absolutely amazing server that was very respectful of allowing our group time to have conversations and wasn't trying to rush any part of our luncheon. He was also very helpful with one of our group that is vegan and made some excellent recommendations for her meal which she thoroughly enjoyed. This guys was a true professional. As always the meal was delicious!
We planned a leisurely dinner, but we were rushed through our meal. When we asked our server for a little more time to peruse the menu, (we had barely sat down) he was back within a couple of minutes. We had received our bill barely an hour after we sat down. We stayed and chatted, and our server came and asked us to pay the bill since his shift was ending. We paid, but stayed a while longer. The restaurant was not full. and we noticed that our server was still around. We left the place about 2 hours after we sat down. I do not expect to be rushed in a restaurant at this price point, especially when it is not busy.
Food was way below average quality and a small serving for the price. Went to try the mushroom festival menu and was disappointed with the main. Mushroom soup was good but main course was so full of garlic it drowned any possible flavour from the mushroom ravioli. Main course was just fried in butter and garlic, could've saved $28/ Plate and cooked way better myself. Server was very good, polite and observant and was probably overqualified to work there. Pretty disappointing , too many good Italian restaurants to try before I'd go back there...
Had a greater expectation as we have dined at the down town location. Service is not as intimate, and food quality does not compare. Experience was more of an 'Olive Garden' event. Both my wife and I did enjoy the main course, but appetizers were poor at best.
Again, another wonderful dining experience at Sorrentino's. Made last minute reservation and they were very accommodating to get us in quickly. From hostess to servers all seemed to appreciate us being there. The service and the food were, as per usual, excellent! I will be back! My clients were very impressed, so thank you!
A friend and I met for lunch here today ... it was not a very pleasant experience so you may wonder why the high rating? We both had the roasted veg salad and it was delicious but, my plate had a long black hair in it which I unfortunately found in my mouth (yuck) and my friend had a bug in her salad ... groan!! But, the day manager, Natali, did all the right things a manager should do when these kind of unfortunate things happen. Apologize, offer a replacement meal, apologize, speak to the kitchen, apologize, give a card for complimentary meals for the next visit, apologize, waive the bill, apologize while personally escorting clients from the restaurant asking them to please return to give it a second chance.
Sorrentino's has been around a long time ... this was an unusual occurrence. I have dined in many of the locations on many occasions. The situation was handled professionally and swiftly ... I will go back.
