We went there after our son graduated college - our waitress was wonderful, the food was good, and I have no complaints at all.
Meal was good, service was good, will come again
Was a great choice for Mother’s Day. Amazing food every dish everyone one ordered all loved it. We had nice seating and an amazing view looking into Downtown Hartford.
Very disappointing. Not sure what happened but always liked Sorella. The artichoke appetizer was awful. I ordered eggplant parmigiana which was so tiny and I needed a knife to cut it. I could go to other places and need a doggie bag for the same price as Sorella’s. My husband did like his meatball appetizer and bolognese but we agreed overall food has gone downhill. Sorry!
The food was delicious, my daughter had chese and pepperoni pizza, I had patata pizza (fingerling potatoes, bacon and sour cream). Very friendly staff, quick service and great atmosphere! We will come back for sure!
Disappointed with salmon add on for salad. Very small piece for price
The drinks were fabulous, followed by the delicious bread and butter...and our meals were chicken marsala and chicken parmesan. The service was excellent and the staff take care of their customers... dessert was a perfect ending to our dinner before the show at Hartford Stage. Definitely a must try!
Sorella's is our go-to place before the theater. I shared the Quattro salad and the individual pizza. Scrumptious! Although it's not on the menu, they serve arancini balls (rice, cheese) w/ a rich tomato sauce. Worth ordering. They also serve warm, crusty bread w/ an amazing garlic aioli. I wish I could figure out what else is in it. I could eat that for dinner. I have also had a full meal there a few times. The pasta is yum. Large portions can be shared. This place is a gem!!
We were told by a waiter at Dish, which we like and frequent often, that their sister restaurant Sorella was excellent, so we tried it. We were very underwhelmed and won’t return. While the calamari appetizer was very good, our entrees were greasy and bland, respectively. My shrimp scampi with angel hair pasta had small, tasteless shrimp. My husband’s orrechetti with sausage and rabe was swimming in oil. The ambiance was dull and the ventilation system ran hot and cold. All in all, a disappointing night out.
We had a lovely dinner with our son prior to a really fun show at the Hartford Stage. He enjoyed Chicken Parm and we shared a yummy pizza and salad.
The server we had she was fantastic. Wish I remembered her name. The food and drinks were on point.
Delicious food, a little hard to hear over the noise, the service was excellent
We were a party of four. I shared the autumn salad and black linguine with my friend. Even at half portion she and I had leftovers. My husband had the chicken parmigiana and my friend’s husband had a pizza. Everyone enjoyed their selection. The jalapeño margarita was very tasty as well!! Good friends, good food, great time!!
It was my first time there and everything was AMAZING, would definitely rec
Food was as good as our recent meals in Florence and Rome.
The food was delicious and the service was great. The restaurant is bright and cheery. My only complaint would be that its overpriced for lunch. It would be nice to have more luncheon specials (there was one however).
We enjoyed our dining experience. We were not rushed. Our waitress was great and the staff very accommodating and attentive.
Great apps. Delicious pasta. Must go.
NCAA Regional tournament was in downtown and the staff was awesome with every detail.
Seated right away, friendly wait staff and great food. It was our 1st time there and would definitely go back again.
It was very crowded given there was a concert nearby that evening. There was some confusion about whether we had a reservation upon arrival which was sorted out pretty quickly. Given the crowd, it seemed like the restaurant was short-handed. Service was pretty poor. Food was pretty good, but my entree was cold - perhaps it had been sitting for delivery. The most important feature of the experience was the sound level. It was unbelievably loud. I literally could not hear a word the people across from me were saying. In fairness, we were sitting in bar area and, as mentioned, it was wall-to-wall people. Perhaps it would have been more quiet in back. Overall, the experience was fine, but I probably would not go back.
The chicken marsala was delicious - tender and full of mushroom sauce. My husband had the penne w/meat sauce, loved it. Would definitely go here again when we are in Hartford.
Food was expensive for the amount we got. Small portions and quite bland. Burnt my first pizza and sent it out to me. Smelled burnt and it was inedible. Made me a new one and it was out to me in just a few minutes. Great service, mediocre food.
We were visiting Hartford for an event at the convention center. Made a reservation for 10 people. Sometimes it is hard to meet the needs of a big group but the service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Will be back should we visit Hartford again.
Very disappointing. The nicest thing I can say is the waitress was lovely. Don’t waste your time. Hartford needs more Italian restaurants - I was hoping this was it. Sadly, it’s not.
Dinner was amazing! Service was a bit off. Our meals all came out separately and my sons really late...how we the other means were very good
Amazing food, great service. Black squid linguine, scampi and orrechiette with sausage are delicious!
Pre-stage dinner. Ravioli was excellent as were the Brussels sprouts. Nice timing on our service.
I'm Italian, I'm a cook. The best pasta you're going to get in Hartford is at Sorella. This visit, their calamari appetizer, sauted in a piccante tomato sauce, was spectacular, along with the broccoli rabe and sausage appetizer. It's consistently great food.
The food was good except for one dish, the carbonara had very little guanciale and a ton on caramelized onions. Menu mentioned nothing of the onions so it was very unexpected. All the other food we ordered was very good so it was disappointing about the carbonara.
High top table near the entrance to the kitchen is in a slightly awkward spot and sometimes feels uncomfortable.
Sorella is a solid pizza place, good for a casual work lunch or after work bite. Small bar area, so not great for standing, but good if you get a seat. Pizza is yummy and service is friendly and attentive. Appetizers are a bit overpriced.
Second time eating here when in town for business. The food is very good, as is the service. Portions are large so be ready or bring home a doggy bag !!! I'll definitely be back.
Server was excellent and provided us with the appropriate amount of attention. The food was exceptional and very tasty.
I would recommend arriving after the typical "families with kids" dinner hour--probably after 7 would be a good time.
Our 3rd visit. We decided to try the pizza. While good, it did not make up to the pasta dishes we had on previous visits. The brussel sprouts appetizer was very good.
There were a lot of kids making the restaurant very loud today.
Mediocre food. Chicken par was deep fried and overdone. Same for Brussels sprouts. They were derp fried and awful.
Expensive for what you get. While food is good, it’s a bit pricey to pay $18 for a personal size pizza. Salads were good, Betty tasty, calamari not too heavy or greasy.
Brick oven pizzas were fantastic. Loved the Brussel sprouts. Service was great. We will be there again.
I enjoy Sorella for the food, service and the setting. All excellent.
Five of us ate at Sorella on Sunday night after the Wolf Pack game. The restaurant had a good crowd in the dining room and at the bar. We had reservations and were seated right away. Service was very timely and friendly. Quality of the food is 4.5 stars. Prices are very fair and portions are spot on. We had three Salmon dinners, a Chicken Marsala dinner, and a Margarita Pizza. The Salmon was excellent, the Marsala really good if a tad salty, and the Pizza also really good. We will be back and will order the same meals again, plus get an extra pizza to go.
