The warm wooden barstools, chairs and tables create a harmonious balance of elegant American bistro and a comfortable neighborhood bar.
Pan Seared breast, Agave nectar Glaze, butternut squash puree, sage & marscapone risotto cake, smoked paprika aioli, baby arugula, cream of balsamic drizzle
Roasted Chicken, Baby Spinach, Smoked Mozzarella Cream
Char-grilled baby octopus, baby arugula, basil, tomatoes, lemon vinaigrette
It was good but with social distancing, the ambiance really was different. Not the restaurant fault.
The maitre d' was exceptionally helpful - though we got caught in two different sets of boat traffic and were 45 minutes late - when I explained the distance we traveled and the events - he was kind enough to find us a seat!!!
Everything was very good - but my younger daughter had noodles with butter - they charged $24.00.
They were kind enough to reconsider to $15.00 - still surprising...but I was thankful for the consideration and sincerely grateful for being able to get in!
Sat outside which was nice, but tables in a heavily trafficked area flanked by pedestrians on one side and cars on the other. Service was ok, the girl was in and out a lot, so made me wonder if she also had tables inside. Table was barely wiped down with only 1 disinfecting wipe (and being a nurse, I know that was not enough to properly clean the surface in any environment). The food, however, was outstanding. I would definitely return again just for the gnocchi, and I usually don’t like the texture of gnocchi. The goat cheese was delicious, as was the chopped salad.
This was our first night out for dinner in a couple months and wow did they not disappoint! Everything from our appetizers, entree’s to the wine was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back.
It was our first time out after a lot quarantine in IL, and our experience couldn’t have been better. The service was excellent, and the food was tasty. Will definitely return!
Great even duringCovid!!
It was my birthday. I’m happy my husband picked this restaurant! It was delish😋
This self proclaimed foodie was very excited to go as I had heard good things and read up on the restaurant and chef before going.
We were seated in the upstairs at a table for two. It was quaint up there but as the night went on, it was extremely loud for the amount of tables in the small area.
We ordered drinks and an appetizer. I highly recommend the grilled Caesar salad. It was fantastic. A great blend of charred Romaine with creamy dressing and topped with capers and shaved Parmesan. Possibly the best salad I’ve had in a while.
The main course was a New York strip steak. Presentation was sloppier than expected. The steak was served partially sliced which looked more like someone was testing for doneness vs aesthetic purposes. It was accompanied by grilled asparagus that was hidden beneath the steak and a very large portion of fries with a heavy hand of truffle oil.
Plated better this may have been more appealing, but it certainly would not have me returning to order it again.
Overall my first experience was not as I had hoped.
Drinks were great but when it came to the food the orders were never right, including diners surrounding us had the same issue. Steak that was asked to be rare came out well done not only for myself but the people next to us. The waiters also rarely check in. Would not recommend for food.
Great meal and I highly recommend it for a nice dinner!
Food was outstanding! The Lobster Won Tons, the parsnip soup, the whitefish. Oh and the margarita was divine!!!
Excellent food every time! Love Sopra! Every thing is made to order and is wonderful. I especially like the spinach salad with the homemade ranch dressing.
Best restaurant in Lake Geneva for farm to table organic experience Cannot edit your try more items on menu. We had a wonderful Valentines Day there!
The food was delicious but you have to order your entire meal all at once...appetizers, mains, etc which made it a little awkward and rushed. Our server didn’t come back to check on us very often, but the atmosphere was really intimate and pretty. Great for a date night or special occasion.
Wonderful meal with interesting preparation. Busy when we arrived, the room has a lot of hard surfaces so somewhat noisy. Very creative food combinations, deliciously prepared
Great food and atmosphere. Great specials love the roasted olives
The experience is comparable to the better restaurants in Milwaukee's Third Ward or Walker Point. I'd expected some issues dining during prime evening hours of the very busy Lake Geneva Winterfest. Pleasantly surprised, seating was prompt, service was very good, and food/wine was excellent, tho the place was packed. Have visited several times over the years, and they've made strides in dampening the noise level, but I wish they'd still knock it down another notch somehow.
A wonderful experience! You can tell they care about the food that leaves the kitchen.
The food was delicious, but it seemed a bit overpriced. For an appetizer of fried goat cheese, you got two fried goat cheese rounds. The pastas were delicious, but once again pricey for a pasta dish. Our waitress automatically charged us for doubles when a tequila on the rocks and bourbon on the rocks were ordered. The dessert menu wasn't appealing so we skipped it. Overall, the food was delicious, but it was expensive.
The ambiance is great. The food and presentation has great taste and presentation.
Lovely experience overall! Great food and service.
We've been there many times. This meal happened to be the first time we were disappointed. The service was lacking. The wait was excessive. But, the food was very good. We will be back again but they better get their act together.
Sat at the bar and really had an enjoyable time. The food was amazing and there is a nice wine selection.
Food was very good. We ordered from the evening’s specials, however, can’t wait to return to order from their regular menu. We had wine but the drinks looked interesting. Will be back soon.
A QUALITY dining experience. The food WAS TOP NOTCH. Cant wait to go back again. Put this on your "must try" list!
Our meal started off poorly with a fairly long wait for water and any attention to get drinks. This was explained and excused later when we were told our server had left not feeling well. Unfortunately the bad impression continued with the complimentary bread cold and the crust rock hard. We had the pre-fixe specials. We choose the roasted chicken broth with croutons and poached egg as a 1st course. While the croutons and egg were flavorful the soup was lukewarm at best. But when our entrees arrived things got better. We had the meatloaf and the shark. Both were prepared and seasoned perfectly. The dessert course was also well prepared so the evening ended up much better than it started. But probably because they were short staffed (our new server was nice) we never felt welcomed or included, we felt almost as an after thought. Not sure we would come back right away.
Brandon is an outstanding server! The food, as always simply amazing. Brandon made our night spectacular.. lots of laughs! ❤️❤️👍🏽👍🏽😊😊😘😘
The gnocchi was a bit rubbery and bland, and the cheese on the radiatori had an off smell.
Lobster wontons had a consistency that suggested they came from a frozen box
I absolutely recommend Sopra to enyone. Great food and friendly servers.
Also, the best Caesar Salad I've ever had (it's grilled).
Good and service was great. Will def be back again!
Wonderful restaurant on Main St. in Lake Geneva, WI. A delicious and creative menu and a friendly atmosphere.
Great food in a really nice setting. Server was terrific.
Had chocolate flourless cake and gelato for desert. Was very very good.
Have been to Sopra several times, one of our favorite in Lake Geneva. Servers are always friendly and attentive, and food is always delicious. Do yourself a favor and order one of
their specialty cocktails.
Food was Excellent. Great atmosphere. A little pricey, but worth it. would definitely go back
We have dined at Sopra numerous times and never been disappointed. We started by sharing the mussels which were very good; the sauce could have been spacier but the mussels were big and tender. I had the fettuccini with prosciutto and my husband had the duck for our entrees. The fettuccini was very simple and delicious and the duck was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and medium rare meat. The service was very good; we sat upstairs which is quieter than downstairs and nice to look out the window at the holiday-festooned stores. Over another really enjoyable evening at Sopra.
One of our favorite places....always delicious and great people!
We really enjoyed the dinner! Service was fabulous and the food was delicious. Prices are reasonable for a high quality meal.
We loved sopra. The meal was awesome! We walked there from the Maxwell mansion for an anniversary dinner! Would suggest it to everyone!
Lovely dinner for different menu for different things from the menu entrees every one of them was fantastic
