Friends and I went before a play in Franklin. We were pleased to learn of the happy hour and had a good glass of $5 wine. The guacamole was good and the Mahi Mahi fish tacos were delicious. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. All in all a pleasant experience. And very reasonable.

For years Sopapilla's has offered a FREE sopapilla at the end of a meal. They now charge for this. Personally, it was always a treat to be offered something free, of course, and now that they charge it has taken some of the appeal away. Booo Hisss. The food was still good. We were seated in the room with the bar. There was a loud Christmas party going on in a semi-private room just off the bar. No door to close, so their celebration carried right over to where we were. And, although our waiter was friendly and kind, they also had him in charge of that party. We had reservations so they knew when they placed us there that choosing their restaurant was something we planned and looked forward to. This just did not live up to our expectations.

We love New Mexican/Southwestern food, and Sopapillas did not disappoint. I nearly felt like I was in Albuerquerque, right down to the fresh sopapillas with honey.

Nice local Mexican place with lots of tasty choices.
We love the tacos, the ceviche, and the guacamole.
Good margaritas and beer choices.
Friendly service and semi-loud music.
All good!

The food was very good for New Mexican fare in TN. The chips and salsa were very good, salsa was flavorful not hot so you could taste every ingredient. The stuffed sopapillias were really good and not too much food. I will go back to Sopapillias in the future.

Very noisy. Difficult to have a conversation.

Food was overpriced, small quantities, and taste was average.

Given dirty plates for dessert.

We had reservations;the restaurant was virtually empty when we got there 6 in our party were seated on wall by door very cold every time door opened . 3people in our party ended up wearing our coats. Was told we couldn't move not sure reason why. Then the waitress added 20% gratuity to our ticket. I know this is sometimes done in parties of 6 or more but usually server lets you know. If I had not been paying attention we would have double tipped. I usually tip 20% if service is good but don't like it being added for us and service was not that good even with restaurant empty. Other issue is Soppalias has always given a free soppalia at the end of the meal-this was their signature thing- they have changed that to now you have to pay. This was one of things we loved about soppalias. It just seems to be going downhill and there are other good Mexican food out there that are not so pricey for lack of service and just ok food

What a fabulous place for brunch!! Every dish was better than the last and the bottomless Bloody Mary bar was awesome! I would recommend Sopapilla’s for any meal given my experience with their extensive Sunday brunch. A definite must!! I’ve tried many places for brunch, but this one I would highly recommend!

Food was excellent. Service was by a waiter who looked like he was not happy at his job. Not a smile to be had. He didn't write down our order for 4 people and got it wrong. Waited for a simple ice tea forever (twice). Shame a poor server can put a damper on an otherwise good experience.

One of those bad evenings in the kitchen but sitting outside made it much better. Could recognize when we entered the restaurant there was some kind of “disturbance in the force”. Took a bit to be seated, drink orders taken but........ Starters came out after a bit but drinks still not delivered. 2 of the entrees arrived but there were more than 2 guest. Service recovery was limited to profuse apologies about others not showing up for work. Appreciate knowing the “why” but I hate when we throw others under the bus (even if they failed to show. I expect management to have a plan B).

This was meant to be our treat for some friends. Sorry we chose Sopapillas. The place was not full yet we waited more than a half hour for our drink order (nothing complicated, drafts and wine). We were sorta ok with that because we were enjoying our friends, but we couldn’t even get glasses of water to hold us over. Three friendly requests. Waiter was new and apologetic, said they asked the manager to help get our orders in... just weird. Chips were good, food was ok.

I tried the new Chicken and Sopapillas on this visit and they were fabulous! I would highly recommend. In the past, I have ventured to taste the fish tacos and they were great as well. The Sunday brunch is to die for. We have always had great service. One of my favorite places to go!

One of the primary aspects of Sopapilla's used to be the complementary Sopapilla's you would receive after your meal. (Note I said "used to"

Since they don't offer the complementary Sopapilla's after your meal, they should change the name of their Restaurant to "Sopapilla's $4"!

If they aren't going to offer the complementary Sopapilla's, they should reduce the price of the meals by $1.

The waiter made sure to point out the new Desert Menu. 4 deserts and the $4 for 4 Sopapilla's w/ Honey. I read the desert menu and was immediately turned off by a strange addition to Key Lime Pie, and a strange Cheesecake offering. Two desert items that should never have strange additions, unless your desert maker cannot make two staple desert items.

Needless to say, I will be hard-pressed to return to Sopapilla's.

Good but needs more. The chicken and sopapilla's is very 'brown' looking. Glad I asked for the gravy on the side. It needed something more... something green, not just the garnish, or black beans. Wait staff looks adequate enough but not very attentive and forgetful. Asking for drink refills and not getting them till after the meal. The chips and salsa were good and fresh. It's a little more costly than most southwest/Mexican restaurants but if you're in the area it's something to try. They have a large bar area and outside dining area as well though there's really nothing to look at but parked cars and buildings. The decor was basic wish it was a little more of a southwest theme maybe some pottery, woven hangings, Native American since they use the New Mexico symbol. Music is not what you would expect in a southwest restaurant a little jazz fusion. The ceiling is exposed so the noise level got louder as more people came in. Maybe I was expecting more of a Navajo/New Mexico Native American experience.
