The pasta dish with steak in it was terrible. Steak was very tough and un edible. The lobster was also poorly done. Tough. Waiter did not offer to take lobster out of shell. For a high priced restaurant it should have been better. Avoid this place. Many other better restaurants in the area.
We went here after my wife and I had just got married on Maui. Service was excellent and the food was very good. Be prepared to pay $$, as the prices are going to be what you would expect any very good steak house to charge. The steaks were amazing and we shared the crab cakes which were the best we had ever had. There was not a lot of people sitting around us and it made for an excellent dinner.
Food was delicious and beautiful setting, but service was extremely slow. Our waiter was very apologetic for the kitchen and comped our salads and wine, which was much appreciated!
Three of us had dinner at Son'z Steakhouse and overall enjoyed the evening very much. The view of the man-made pond with the swans and the Aloha sunset was beautiful. Service was friendly and efficient. The steak meals were fantastic, tasty and perfectly prepared. I ordered the local fish and was disappointed because the fish was dry and overcooked - should have had the steak as this is a steakhouse restaurant. Overall it was a nice dinner out but I recommend sticking with the steak dishes.
Steaks were very good, however the fish was just "ok".
Portions were large but could do with being smaller and more flavoured!
Food was delicious and service was excellent. We always enjoy eating here when we are in Maui.
A disappointing meal at Son'z. The old swan court of the Hyatt Regency is converted into a steakhouse. Considering the location the expectation was for a commensurate experience. I would not say anything was bad, in fact, service was very very good. The issue was with what I would call mediocre food. The steak was absolutely cooked to my desire except it was merely warm. Warm to the point that the butter placed on the steak did not melt. I also ordered bernaise sauce which while usually a thickened sauce, came to me as a spread. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a higher end meal.
Incredible experience! Just like we remembered it from 3 years ago when we were there on our Anniversary. I highly recommend it. The Swan Court is beautiful and serene.
Had a great time. My wife is allergic to gluten which was no issue. The only thing that surprised us was the happy hour drink prices did not extend to the main dining area and only applied to the bar and lounge, but all in all that wasn't a big deal. This was a great place for a special occasion, but probably a little expensive for a regular meal. That said the food was really, really good. Would definitely recommend to anyone I know who is going to the area. We really enjoyed the experience.
Customer service was great. Awesome food. Cocktails was on point.
The shrimp were over cooked and cold. They did buy our last round as a gesture which was nice but cooking shrimp should be easy.
Excellent food and service. Good variety on the menu.
We had great service and the food was excellent. Lovely restaurant
Steak was excellent. So was the service.
Service was excellent, but food was very average. Not worth the price point.
Quite disappointing. Sons would be game for a "truth in advertising" claim. When I asked, they said their steaks were prime. I know my beef, and the $55 steak we ordered was definitely not prime. No marbleize; no juice; no flavor. I would not have enjoyed this steak at $20. Service was very average. Would never return.
Very nice atmosphere. Excellent food.
Beautiful setting. We had the short ribs, filet mignon and mashed potatoes, along with the creme brûlée and French toast bananas foster. We were happy and full when we left. It was a lovely evening.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday at this very special restaurant. We arrived about 45 minutes early and enjoyed happy hour at the bar before our meal. I can’t say enough about this restaurant. Service, food, and ambience were exceptional.
The steak was great!
Food was either served cold, tough, or flavorless. Calamari was ok, potstickers very tough and no taste, shrimp over cooked, salad over dressed, filet served was cold where the over herbed butter did not melt. The only good thing was the service.
great food and great service. Beautifull romantic setting
$55. NY strip was tough. Better steaks at a diner.
The steak was wonderful. The spaghetti with filet meatballs was not appetizing. The meatballs tasted like the had a lot of filler.
The Rib Eye was the most delicious and tender steak I have had !!!! The creme brûlée was exquisite !!
We chose Son’z Steakhouse as our Valentine’s Dinner venue and were pleased overall. It was a prix fix dinner and there appeared to be several delicious choices! The drinks, service, steaks were excellent. Must say that we were disappointed with our Caesar salad which was small and not tasty. However, no doubt we will return as it is conveniently next door to the Hyatt Residences - an annual pilgrimage!
Service was the best i’ve Had in years on Maui. Thank you! Not rushed in and out like Mama’s or Fleetwoods.
Early seating Valentine's. Open venue spoiled by mother nature dumping rain and wind. Not a good choice in the storm. Staff and food went long and hard to make up for the wet floor. Hard to relax and lost the effect of the place. Steaks were perfect.
Originally came to this restaurant because of items listed on menu on Open Table - like veal. When we arrived and looked at menu, they didn’t have several things on the menu that we came for. When we inquired about them their answer was we haven’t had those items for over eight years. Don’t they keep their menu up to date online especially on Open Table? First waiter didn’t like the fact that we wanted to enjoy a couple rounds of drinks first before ordering so he left us. He also wanted to collect for the drinks before we had our dinner. The second waiter came and was very kind. Couldn’t get our orders straight though. We had originally asked for separate checks but they brought out one. Then we had to tell them who had what. This is a first class hotel, who ever heard of that? The four of us won’t be coming back here anytime soon if ever!
Outstanding rack of lamb and filet meatball dinners. Great ambience, waterfall backdrop for dinner. Good wine list, a bit too pricey though for vino. Overall excellent experience
The waterfall, the ocean, the sun, the food, the nice servers, all make for an excellent experience!
Looking forward to coming back!
We dined here because we were staying at the Hyatt Regency for vacation. Before dinner, we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar area. This was the highlight of the evening. The staff at the hostess stand when you walk-in were oblivious of who you are and why you are there. The wait staff was very attentive except for the end of the evening. My father enjoyed the ribeye which was grizzly at best. Very disappointing for “prime” beef. The wait staff argued that it was just “marbling” and disregarded the fact that the majority of the steak was inedible. We didn’t dine here again.
Loved everything except the noisy birds! Quieted down after dark.
We were staying at the hotel and dined here twice. The view was beautiful. The food and wine list are good. The cuts of meat are very high quality. The sides miss the boat on preparation and flavor.
A great restaurant with attentive service. The food was exceptional and we ate there multiple times for breakfast and dinner. Recommend the Scampi, calamari, Fish of the day.
The fish special was over cooked. The salads and the filet mignon were good.
Service was decent. I don’t know if I would be back, especially for the price of all the entrees when they are a la carte.
Waiter disappeared after taking our order. Food delivered by others. Food was very good but escargot needed more garlic and steak au poivre needed more pepper. The steak sauces were so so. The location and view of multiple large birds was wonderful although the birds got very loud at dusk.
Inexperienced staff throughout our dining service. Our server did not know anything about the menu. Busser couldn’t use a bottle opener to open our Pellegrino. Food was fair. We both ordered the filet mignon meatballs with spaghetti. Meatballs were fairly good although definitely not made with 100% filet. As foodies, it was easy to taste another protein and even more evident when I twice bit into something that was inedible. Ambiance was great however the poor quality of service and mediocre food would keep us from coming back.
We had the misfortune of dining at the same time as several large groups. While they were there the noise was unbearable, distressing and uncomfortable. Management must place some limit to the unruliness of patrons.
