This place was recommended to us and it’s fantastic! The table side guacamole was delicious, the chicken tortilla soup was delicious and the tempura fish tacos were some of the best we’ve ever had! We had a group of 8 friends to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday and it was the perfect atmosphere and had options for everyone! And the margaritas were amazing!
My husband and I have been to Sonterra Grill before and loved it. The food is alway good and the service is great. We were celebrating our son's 28th birthday and the waitress didn't know it was his birthday until she checked his I.D. and she asked if she could bring out some cake for him and she brought out a hugh slice of the most delicious chocolate cake with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate. He really liked that. My son ordered a Jalapeno Margarita that was spicy but tasty. I want to try that next time. Great experience for the 3rd time. We will go again and I recommend it to all my friends.
The scallops were good but the coconut shrimp were way over done for others in the party. Waitress was very attentive. Bar made a few drinks wrong. We would give it another try when we return.
Well we had a reservation for 7 and came in early at 6. Thinking surely they would have something available a little early..sat at the bar spent plenty of $ on drinks apps, etc..didn’t get seated until after 7:30..and then only when we forced our way onto the end of a large table that had been lingering for hours..only to be very neglected by servers, no manager came over to apologize. We suggested a free round of drinks for our trouble, which they did but why should we have to suggest it? Once we ordered food, it was very slow to come out and when it did the Filet and Lobster enchilada was disappointing. The filet was delicious! But was only about 3 Oz. It was literally the thinnest filet I’d ever seen about 4 tiny bites worth and the enchilada had a bout 3 little shrimp in it and that was it..not worth $10 let alone $20..we were quite disappointed, while somewhen eventually came over, ( after we asked to see a manager) they weren’t terrivbly interested in our plight of the difficult evening.. I won’t go back..spent over $80 and we both left hungry😑🤔
I gotta admit.....I was a little disappointed. It's Cinco De Mayo and they don't even have a drink menu. The food was very avg. Nothings really changed on that menu in 5 years. Still has the best banana's foster in Co Spgs.
The blue corn tortillas and menu had me sold. The outcome was as delicious as it sounds and looks. The price is low for the quality of the food, great value!
Great food, fabulous service, will go again!
Overall exceptional dining staff very freindly and helpful definitely be back
Sonterra Grill has only grown better over time. The menu is now genuinely innovative, the draft beer list is impressive, and the service is just wonderful.
We flew into the Springs to see our son who is going to school there. This was where he wanted to eat for his belated birthday dinner. It was our third or fourth time there. Always good food and we’re never disappointed with what we order there.
Sonterra Grill is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the service has always been great.
Delicious food and wonderful service. Maybe a touch over priced but overall great restaurant
We had a very nice dinner. The food is not traditional American Mexican. Very good flavors and well prepared. Service was fast.
Terrible, arrogant service. Sloppy delivery by waiter in every way and aspect. Food was not what we are used to here. Did not even bother to take our left overs. This is our third bad experience in as many months. Not sure what happened, but we actually had friends who refused to go there again after their last few experiences. Guess we should have listened. Waste of time with family and friends and waste of money. VERY disappointed. Bad service seems to be the only consistent thing the past three months.
As always, it was lovely. Good food, great staff and nice ambiance.
Our family visited this restaurant on a trip to Colorado Springs. What a find! We are a party of 8 with ages ranging from 5-75 yrs old and everyone enjoyed themselves. I don’t know if they have something bad on their menu because we enjoyed everything!! This is a great place.
Delicious food. Loved the warm salsa. Also loved my lobster enchilada. Service was slow and disappointing. Server took 20 minutes to bring water to the table and introduce herself after I flagged her down. Will probably return because my food was delicious and hope that the service is better this one.
My wife and I are Sonterra regulars. The food is consistently excellent, the margaritas are exceptional, it has that great “downtown people-watching vibe”, and it is a really good value.
The only negative on this particular visit was that the staff made it quite apparent that it was closing time (read: leave NOW!) as we were finishing our dinner. I can empathize with them being anxious to go home, but that took the shine off of an otherwise great experience.
Jalapeño strawberry margarita was excellent as well as the table side guacamole. I had salmon and my husband had the shrimp and lobster enchiladas. Both were delicious. Would definitely recommend to our friends.
I enjoyed my first outing at Sonterra, loved the atmosphere & the quiet, the waiter was respectful & fun themselves I wanted to try this place because I’ve heard nothing but great things about it. So wanted to try for myself & loved it!!
We loved our food! We will definitely go back! If you’re looking for a great date night, this is the place.
We were super excited to try the food. We had family in from out of state. Service was ok at best. Waiter spilled margaritas on my daughter. They forgot most items asked for or requested. Some food was cold when brought to the table.
Amazing food! But if you have a big appetite the portion sizes are pretty small. The desert in the other hand are huge and amazing!
The food was excellent. My wife and I were especially impressed with the fact that Sonterra has a smoker for their smoked pork enchilada; it was amazing. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and really took care of us. We would definitely go back.
Food and service were outstanding! Can't wait to go back!
We only go to Sonterra once a year or so, and I'm not sure why we don't go more often. Every time, it is amazing. This time surpassed the others. We got the blackened halibut special which came with a coconut ginger sauce, and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly. Ended with a shared bananas foster cooked tableside, something you don't expect when going to a 'southwestern' restaurant. Could not have been better!
Excellent food and service in a great setting. The room was quite cold and they had heaters placed throughout.
My wife and I decided to give a try at Sonterra for the first time and it really surpassed our expectations in every way.
Food was amazing. Ambiance was very calm. Will come again. Good place for a date.
We had the Valentine's Day special. It was a 4 course meal that was very tasty. The prom sizes were a bit small for the price, but it was still a good meal.
Excellent menu with lots of variety. Food and service were both outstanding. A wonderful dining experience.
Some tables are quite small which makes them crowded. Caused us to spill a drink into the dinner. Ruined the dinner. No offer to replace dinner. Server just removed the plate and walked off. Weird, don't you think?
Went there on the night of a big downtown event. It was also my birthday. Erin was an awesome server and Sophia, the manager I believe, checked on us several times. The food was awesome and they treated me to birthday cake. Food, drinks and service were all excellent. We will be back!
They changed the menu to offer limited items. Food is not as good as the prior menu. I am disappointed. Same restaurant as Salsa Brava - both restaurants are no longer on my list of favorites.
Always great food and excellent service! Sonterra Grill is great at accommodating special requests.
Excellent food and great wait staff. Only down side was trying to find parking downtown.
The food was okay. My son had the shrimp and lobster enchiladas and he loved them. My daughter and I had the steak tacos and they were pretty salty. My husband had the mushroom enchiladas and he said they were good. The rice and beans were not hot, but had decent flavor. Drinks, server, and the music were the highlight of the meal. On the fence if we would go back for food, but will be a definite for drinks and music.
Family enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of Sonterra Grill. The Grill was certainly worthy of the Trip Advisor rating and lived up to expectation. When back in Colorado Springs, we would certainly return to the ambiance and high-quality Mexican food options . The enchiladas were superb and enjoyed by all as were the chips and salsa. Service was responsive, efficient and friendly. The result.... a great evening!
I enjoyed our experience at Sonterra, it was very laid back and comfortable. I was not thrilled with the scallop dish but I always enjoy the grilled artichoke and their salsas. My friend had the ahi tuna tostadas and ahi tuna salad. Our server Cody was quite pleasant and accommodating.
Was disappointed to learn happy hour prices are only valid if seated at the bar. However, we were fortunate to find enogh seats to move from our more ideal table setting to the bar to take advantage of happy hour.
