Our server was never around. We waited over 10 minutes for our check and that’s after we found someone to go find our server. We then have her our credit card. She asked if we were in a hurry. We said yes. She then went and did something else before bringing our credit card back.
The servers in our section were a trainee and a trainer. It was a little rough. Didn’t acknowledge us until we got the attention of the hostess. Drink refills were slow (at one point a member of our party got up and helped himself to the pitchers sitting on a table near us.)
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the margaritas are really good. The servers are attentive. Convenient for eating dinner before a show at Pikes Peak Center.
Excellent. Food was outstanding. Cody was superior.
A must if you are in Colorado Springs. The food is devine and the service is top-notch. They are very attentive and friendly. Great food for vegetarians and vegans. They are ready to accommodate.
Had carne asada. It is always good. Very tender meat and flavorful.
This is my third time eating at Sontera Grill. Once again I had a wonderful experience. I brought my husband, daughter and granddaughter. Everyone loved their experience. I will never hesitate to bring guests, friends and family to Sontera for a unique experience.
First time at Sonterra. Food was excellent (steak and avocado enchilada's especially good). Green Chili had a fabulous flavor, however, if you don't like spicy, you might ask if they have something milder.
Wonderful tortilla soup and margaritas . Ate too much chips and salsa, as usual
Number 1 - your menu got a lot smaller deleting some great stuff like the ribs. I ordered the pork belly tacos. They were tapas not tacos, the pork belly that I got, literally had 1 piece of meat about 2 inches long at 1/4 thick, come on guys, that was just plain bad. Mu husband had the steak and it was really good.
This is my sister and I’s go to place when we have a night out on the town. The food is always good and service is always amazing.
Everyone we encountered were very friendly and respectful.
Great food, great service!!
Pricey drinks but food was really good although portions were small. Fantastic service!
A really great place to go have drinks and food. Colorado Sprongs has come along way in their restaurants!
The food was fantastic! At first we thought the portions were pretty small, but it's very filling so the portions were perfect. We went later in the evening before closing so it was pretty quiet. The service was great! It was definitely a nice little place to go for date night.
The food was amazing, as was the service. I loved the lobster and shrimp enchilada. My husband had the special- it was a salmon dish that was perfectly prepared. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Very nice place and it is enjoyable to sit in the back where it is more quiet. The staff was a little “too much” (managers, etc.) checking on our “dining experience”—although it was nice they were concerned, they did intrude on conversation at times.
Thank you Ron!! See ya at Frisbee Golf at the 'wood!
This was my second visit to Sonterra as I was happy with my first experience, as well. Matthew was our waiter. He was very attentive and helpful. My wife ordered the Seabass and was very pleased with the flavor and serving size. The margaritas were tasty and the experience was delightful. We will very likely return for the food, the fun and the convenience.
Our waiter was excellent and recommended the Seabass dish. While this was pricey, it was also some of the best seabass I have ever had. I can't say I am a big fan of the ambiance - the tables are not terribly private and the surroundings are a bit noisy. In our case, I found the good service and the excellent food made up for this.
Sonterra Grill was Beautiful on the inside and the food was delicious. A mixture of Mexican Food and Southwest Food was the perfect mix. It had the best location right beside the Thirsty Pirate si me and my Wife had a couple drinks there then ate at Sonterra Grill. Excellent Service and Food Overall I recommend to everyone!
Great spot for some excellent Mexican food. Service was very friendly and fast. Will be back for sure!
Great place for a downtown dinner. The southwestern menu items are all tempting, but I really enjoyed the grilled Scottish salmon. Excellent service and a great selection of wine and beer.
Wait staff left “unused” plates on table when doing a reset.
Finally found excellent Mexican food in the Springs! I'm from Houston and know how Mexican food should be. Their signature drinks are delicious as well.
As usual the quality of the food, the service, are superior. This is our "GoTo" restaurant with guests. Thanks!
Delicious food and great service. Our waitress was really sweet! will definitely go back
Excellent service, delicious food, not much more we could ask for. Keep up the great work
The shrimp enchiladas and complementary chips and warm salsa are always excellent! We also had the pork belly taco, which were great, but could've had a little more meat inside. One of our favorite restaurants in town.
Sonterra is a very nice space, not too crowded for a small restaurant, with a low-key atmosphere. The service was quick & friendly. Both the hostess and our server asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. Jessica, our server was very helpful when asked for recommendations and personal favorites from the menu. The food was excellent. I particularly enjoyed the bread pudding dessert. Prices were very reasonable and Sonterras proximity to the Pikes Peak Center made for a relaxing walk after dinner.
Staff tends to ignore you, food tends to come out wrong. But when it's right it's delicious, if not over priced for the quantity and quality. Unfortunate that they have so many staffing/management/ownership problems. It's been pretty down hill since they changed their name to Urban Steam. Wondering if the name change was also a change in ownership.
Menu included some modern takes on typical southwestern food. Pork belly tacos were great. Seared sesame tuna salad was fabulous. Queso was very tasty and the flame to keep it warm was a nice touch. We sat at the bar and had very good service. I would definitely eat here again.
From the delicious ahi tostadas, yummy mixed drinks, and a variety of dinner options all perfectly made, we were all very happy with this restaurant choice.
We will be back!
This restaurant was a favorite for my husband and I that we frequented from 2013 to 2016. After our daughter was born we briefly moved out of state and have recently moved back to Colorado. We knew we had to check out Sonterra again and see if it was as good as we remembered- it was just as great as ever! This time we had our 3-year old daughter with us and though I rarely see young children in this restaurant, everyone treated our family with great care and consideration. They even gave her a toy "etch a sketch" to play with (even though we brought toys and coloring books of our own for her). It was a small thing but it made a big difference to enjoy a high quality meal at a reasonable price, with great service and not have a tablet on the table annoying us like you get at most chain restaurants these days. The food is so fresh, even the complimentary tortilla chips! We had a great time, and we can't wait to come back.
Awesome. Service, food, ambience, couldn’t have asked for more.
We had a fantastic dinner at Sonterra! I ordered the scallops and my husband had lamb chops with risotto. Both were excellent! Our server Ron gave us fabulous recommendations and service. We’ll be back!
Our meal was fantastic and Jasmine, our server, was excellent! Really great in every way!
Wonderful meal, great service, will definitely be back...many, many times!
Great service and food quality was excellent!
