Sonterra Grill Ratings and Reviews
Very tasty, great waiter and service. My only complaint is that we were seated at a very small booth while many of the regular sized booths were available. We were told by the hostess that they were reserved so we could not sit at any of those booths. Many of the larger booths remained open throughout our dinner (at least 7). I felt so frustrated as the tiny booth they sat us in was rather uncomfortable and had very little room. Even more frustrating is the fact that we could have easily sat a a regular sized booth and been gone without disturbing a thing!
Dined at Sonterra with a large group of colleagues. We were very impressed with both the food and service. The Halibut was about as good as I’ve ever had...decadent butter sauce. The only disappointment was dessert, they did not have the sorbet as advertised. I have a pet peeve when you are allowed to order something and then the waitress comes back (not right away) and says they are all out.! In that case I believe the right thing to do is offer something complementary.
Our family was in CO Springs for the weekend and decided last minute to try Sonterra Grill. We were warmly greeted at the door, and escorted to our table quickly. We were asked if we needed kids menus and we were able to order their food quickly. Warm chips, great salsa, and water came fairly quickly despite it being very busy. And the kids’ food came within 5 minutes of ordering the rest of our food. Grilled artichoke had good flavors. Our kids liked their meals and loved that ice cream with chocolate sauce was included! I had the filet and shrimp and lobster enchiladas combo, which was excellent. Great flavors and cooked perfectly. My wife and I loved the spicy margaritas we had, too. We plan to return in the near future and recommend this restaurant. Good ambience (busy, upbeat, a little loud but expected for a Friday night), quality food and drinks at decent prices, and efficient waitstaff.
Sonterra is our go-to restaurant for pretty much any reason. Great for dinner, lunch, whatever. Food is always top notch and service is usually really good. This time, even though we had a great greet at the door, our server was just either distracted or didn't know how to balance her time with her tables. We repeatedly were left to fend for ourselves for extended periods of time while she gabbed with other tables. Definitely not heads up service. We did get a fly-by table visit from the manager on duty but it felt perfunctory and inauthentic.
I expect better from Sonterra and we won't give up on them. Assuming it was just a rough nite in the restaurant.
We came in to celebrate our son’s 24th birthday. We were greeted nicely and seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and professional. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. Our drinks were excellent...the food was quite delicious. We had a wonderful time and made very special memories! Thank you for the excellent service!
quick run down:
Server was pretty good even for having a slow start to get our drinks.
Everyone was friendly and eager to help when asked about certain dishes.
I had the mushroom and spinach enchiladas and they were freaking fantastic! So tasty! My wife had the scallops which I had to try and let me tell you, !get the scallops! Overall we will be frequenting this place often! Very cool atmosphere and great location to start an evening!
Negative would be the fixed price for 2 (if you choose) is $65 and you get one app to share, choice of two entrees and one dessert to share. Not really a deal when you do the math on most of the selections!
Food was good. Our server was stressed out and mentioned that when we arrived. We chatted with the tables around us and the consensus was that they were understaffed. We all had to get up and request chips and the drinks took a very long time to get (15 minutes or so). When we ordered guacamole (3 for the table) the waiter told us he had to make them and didn't know when he would get to it.
Guacamole was average at best but our table did like the queso served over a little burner.
All parties enjoyed their meals (enchiladas, scallops, tacos).
It was way, way, too noisy in the Back Room (with door) there was a party of 15 - 18 standing by their table talking so loud that we couldn’t even carry on our own conversation, we approached the front desk attendants...explained the situation and all she could say was: “We cant do anything about that?” Thats is not an answer that paying customers want to here! The ladies that seat you need to attend “Customer Service Inservice/training” on empowerment. Well long story short, a manager must have been notified and she asked all those customers to “please be seated and lower the conversation level” and they all responded appropriately and stat down and lowered their level.
We were able to get in before our reservations, on a Friday night is difficult! It definitely did not disappoint! All aspects of the meal was phenomenal. The filet was cooked so well you could eat it with a fork! Prices were reasonable for a nice romantic meal. We will be back!
Lunch was excellent. We both had pork tacos. Service was great, our server, Mitch, did an excellent job. It was my friend's birthday, and they served her a huge piece of chocolate cake. The music is way too loud, and the choice of music is terrible. At times we could hardly talk to each other. We did ask that it be turned down, and they did, although not enough. The average age of the customer was probably about 40, and 20-something music, with people screaming, is not appropriate for dining.
Had a pretty bad experience at this establishment. Drink order was forgotten and wrong, took ages for chips to come to table, food allergies were overlooked and food arrived with an ingredient that we specificied and allergy to. It was overall quite a mess of an experience. We were also seated in a dark area near the restrooms in a booth so tiny we could hardly fit. Not a good experience and won't be going back.
