Waitress was great and our order came out very quickly - great experience
We love this place. It's beautiful, the food is great but the service is the best. You always feel welcome.
Awesome date spot!
Great place to grab brunch! The food was very good, but also the same standard brunch fare you can get at most brunch places.
The tomato avocado Benedict was amazing! Definitely would go again
Casual atmosphere with great quality service and food !
Great location !
Service was so accommodating to me as I wanted a table outside. The waitress and cooks were also very accommodating to my godchildren with their food order. I appreciate the hard work and understanding the staff there does every day. Thanks!!!
There were bees everywhere. But the good was amazing
From service to taste, Sonsie Boston did not disappoint. Simply amazing. Our server Arthur was the best - friendly, funny and on point! My husband & I visited Boston for the weekend from PA and read great reviews. We had the Eggs Benny and Avocado Toast (Sonsie version) ...delicious. We certainly will dine here again when back in Boston
We had a great time! Great food and wait staff!
The food was absolutely delicious! We came for brunch, ordered oyster (outstanding!). My husband had smoked salmon and bagels. The bagels was soft with a perfect crunch I order smoked salmon eggs Benedict it was my 1st time having eggs Benedict and they were out standing!
Really cute outdoor sidewalk seating! I got the breakfast sandwich and a coffee and thoroughly enjoyed the fall sunshine.
Waited for outside table 20 minutes and hostess gave it to another couple who walked in w out a reservation
Mee Krob back on the menu is nothing close to the original, very disappointing
The location is great! Food was okay. There are better locations along Newbury although this was a nice change of pace. Waiter was new so there were some first day on the job issues. No big deal though. Would go again if I was invited, but not a first choice.
Ordered drinks and an app, but our server went on break. Had to flag another who then started over. Took 30 min to get our appetizer (pork belly was amazing) and then 35 min to get dinner. Seems like a long time to wait. Food was excellent, highly recommend the Peking Duck. Nice out door seating, but disappointed in how long it took to get our food.
Sonsi's is an old time favorite of mine. I haven't been there for a while and it was great to see the service and food had not changed. Always great! The banana foster french toast is a must have!
Delicious meal, great location and nice indoor/outdoor area. Lots of syrup on the French toast. Great bloodies
Amazing brunch, great service, great outdoor seating options. Would definitely recommend.
Wonderful night! My wife and I have a two-year old and haven't had a date-night in a while.
Food and drinks were fantastic and we had fun conversation/ laughs. We needed a night like this! Thank you!
Very comfortable at Sonsie sitting just outside the main restaurant and Sonsie has always been great for their outdoor seating. Menu had a lot of Asian flair options which were all delicious: miso braised eggplant, Szechuan green beans, red curry tuna which was seared to perfection. Cocktail options were deliciouis as well! Staff maybe a little bit too busy as the evening wore on so service was a bit slow, however very friendly. Would definitely recommend for a great evening!
We had a bee issue and although there were plenty of staff we weren’t checked on at all after we got our food. We kept looking for help as the bees were a problem. We finally had to go to hostess to request to go boxes.
Food was absolutely horrible. Not how I remember it from dining there many times in years past
Went out for a dinner date with my girlfriend. We were sat outside immediately with our reservation but waited roughly 30/40 min for menus/ any attention from the waitstaff. Food was good and came out in a timely fashion.
great location, very attentive servers, very quiet
Customer services was lacking.
Went for brunch. The eggs benedict with avocado and tomato
was terrific. Eggs cooked perfectly. Having halved and crispy red
new potatoes (instead of hash browns) was great idea!
I love everything about Sonsie, the service was really fast and I was able to sit down outside on a nice weather, so it was a great experience!
The food was amazing and the restaurant is beautiful. I definitely recommend going there for any meal! The staff is welcoming and nice.
Incredibly delicious food at an affordable price - feels like you’re sitting out in a street in Europe! Love this place and their brunch
Went here many years ago for our anniversary and we loved it.
This year we went for a birthday dinner. It was a very disappointing meal. Our server was not personable. Menu was limited. Will jot be returning
The food was amazing and I love the inside outside feel of the restaurant when the front wall is open. Our waitress was so kind and had the coolest mask with a tiger on it. Bonus points for Sonsie because there were some parties with dogs near us too :)
The pork and ginger gyoza appetizer was delicious! The margarita pizza and Chianti wine were a perfect combination. Delicious thin crust. Unfortunately, we weren’t crazy about the shrimp patata pesto pizza. Never had potatoes on pizza before, and not sure we’d order it again. The pesto covered all the chunky potatoes and shrimp. Visually, not appetizing. The waitress was delightful. Very friendly. Will definitely go back.
The food at Sonsie was great! I ordered the Avocado Eggs Benedict, and it was fantastic. My party sat on the patio. There was adequate social distancing, and we were able to enjoy a very nice outdoor dining experience.
Sonsie was overall an okay experience. The food was delicious, and if the review was solely based on that, it would have been great.
However, there were other issues. The waitress was lovely, however, the staff somehow lost our ticket. It ended up taking over two hours to get our food, while tables around us who had been seated for much less time were getting their food. Though we were supplied amply with water, it was a long time. Mistakes happen, and it is understandable, but I would have to say that the reaction was not ideal [i.e no consolation for the long wait]. If this hadn't happened, I would say it would have been a much different experience.
They are offering both inside and outside seating. We went for the outside seating. Please be aware that it is on Newbury Street which sees a lot of foot traffic. As long as you are ok with folks walking by, you are good with outside seating. We were there for brunch and ordered the Avocado toast, which was exceptionally fresh, and the Banana Fosters French Toast. The caramel rum sauce was really good. It depends on your personal preference but the banana slices were too soaked in the sauce for my taste. I would have liked the fresh cut banana taste to compliment the caramel rum sauce soaked French toast. It did take a while for them in the beginning to bring out our coffee but it could be because they are short staffed due to Covid. The overall experience was very good.
Horrible experience ever! I would not recommend to any people of colors going to this restaurant! Because I'm Asian. They are allowed, white people to order whatever they want from the menus. But, not us!!!!! I have no choice; we have to order food from the dinner menus, not breakfast, or brunch. I found out after going to the bathroom. Hoster has no personal skills. Unprofessional....GO SOMEWHERE ELSE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS RESOURCES!!! The food is ok! Not great for $28 Thai noodles and $18 for Kale salad. 🤢🤮🤮🤮
There were a total of three of us and we ate outside. The waiter was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. We ordered a few different apps and then a salad and pizza - all to share. The food was phenomenal!! The best I've had there!! I highly recommend Sonsie!!
Their umbrellas literally kept falling down as they are not weighted down enough at the base of each umbrella. It didn’t look like anyone’s food or drinks got knocked over but I’ve honestly never seen so many umbrellas just fall over like that back to back (2 or 3 fell while I was there) at a nice restaurant - they need to replace those ASAP.
Also the eggs on my tomato avocado benedict were cold, so I would suggest bringing a meal containing eggs out faster.
