It was less than we expected based on the prices and the renown of the restaurant for both the food and the service. We've had better experiences in other wineries of the region!

It was wonderful. The service was great the food was also very good. The wine a bit over priced.

Amazing view, amazing service but the food was a huge disappointment. Bland and lacking presentation, the bread and the complimentary birthday chocolates were the best part of the meal. It was ridiculously expensive for the quality of food.

Too Quiet. Open Table had 5:15pm slot available only but there were no other tables after 6pm. Not sure why.....

Great food. They used local ingredients.

Such a lovely venue. Our server was amazing. We were there in the middle of the day and had the place to ourselves. Thoroughly enjoyed!!

Although the proportions were not huge, the food was good and beautifully presented. Service was very good- attentive but not hovering. Great ambience and beautiful view.

We treated ourselves after riding in the Axel Merckx Granfondo road ride. When you stay at Burrowing Owl Guest House you must eat here!

Our visit was somewhat a comedy of errors. We arrived for our 8:15 booking only to find that we were the only ones sitting indoors. It also took a long time for us to get service. It is not a lot of fun eating in an empty restaurant and it was a beautiful evening so we eventually asked to move outdoors when a table became available. The hostess tried to discourage us on the basis of mosquitos arriving at dusk but we insisted. The move took a very long time but we finally were relocated to a good spot. Unfortunately, it also delayed the delivery of our food. Not long after we got the main course, most other people moved back into the restaurant because of....mosquitos! Having pushed hard to get outside, we were not going to give in so easily. So, we stuck it out and enjoyed the very well prepared food, notwithstanding that we now were the only ones outside in a complete reversal of the earlier scenario. Part of the problem seemed to be confusion between the hostess and a server as to who was responsible for our table which meant that we were eating much later than originally intended. In short, the food was great but we would have enjoyed the evening more with a friendlier hostess who would try to facilitate our request rather than treat it as an inconvenience. It makes such a difference when you feel welcomed rather than as a problem.

Beautiful location. Very good service. Mixed good experience. Salad under dressed and boring. Pea risotto good. Octopus salad a bit tough. Salmon bouillabaisse very good.

Excellent service, wine and food. View was nice but would rather not have overlooked the swimming pool as the view was variable depending on who was using the pool.

The service was excellent, but the value for the cost was not outstanding. The prices of both the wine and the food are high for what you get. The view is beautiful and the servers do all they can to make your experience great. As it was our anniversary they provided us with a complementary glass of port, also we know some of the staff. That was very nice. I dont think we would be in a great hurry to go back though.

I made this reservation based on very positive feedback from friends who had been to the restaurant last year. I had anticipated great food for the price of the menu items. On arrival I felt there was limited selection on the menu for both appetizers and the main courses and was underwhelmed by my main course meal. I would say that the desert was better than the main and it is a wonderful venue with beautiful views. I would not go to this restaurant again and would not recommend it. Better to taste the wine and look at the view than spend the money and dine in the restaurant.

A truly excellent restaurant. Terrific creativity in the dishes, but not pretentious. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable servers. Sensational view of vineyard and valley. Well worth a detour to visit. Hats off Chef.

Pros: Food was amazing. Nice view out on patio. Good service overall.
Cons: We did have to wait slightly longer for entree course after first course. It's probably a reasonable pace for those are not too rushed or hungry but we did notice the table beside us getting their food way before us & almost finishing it despite they ordered after us.

Have been before with amazing service, gorgeous views and amazing food. This visit was a bit disappointing. Again gorgeous views and very good service but our main meal was disappointing. Had the venison. Over cooked for medium rare and sides were not appropriately pared. Sides were not complementary and small. Wine pairing was extremely well paired with the venison. the sommelier was entertaining and well versed.

Definitely not what it's cracked up to be on the reviews. The chefs need training to be sure. I had the chicken with truffles, ha-ha. The rolled chicken breast was bland and the truffles were the size of your trimmed thumbnail. There was one small trimming in each cut of the rolled breast. (7 or 8 pce). Boring and virtually tasteless, never, ever again, for the price I could have had an enjoyable evening in Osoyoos...

I lost out due to all the hype about Burrowing Owl, my advice go to A & W or Denny's, save your money. Plus the fact that when they ripped out the natural ground cover to plant their grape vines they made homeless many small desert owls (or killed the defenseless little critters).

We live in the area and have been visitors to the Burrowing Owl over the years. This time, we were disappointed with the meals. I had the strip loin and the portions of four cubed tiny pieces that were completely unseasoned along with the white fish meal the guest/birthday girl received, equally as unseasoned, made it a discussion to choose from our other higher end establishments in Penticton and not bring people here for special occasions. We did mention to staff in hopes it was just a missed dish. But for the price and reputation of the Burrowing Owl, it shouldn't happen. The prices are high enough that we should be expecting excellence and delicious.
