Horseradish cream, grilled lemon
Tarragon, lemon, pickled celery. Served on grilled brioche
Food was great, but definitely slow and not very busy. First 2 wines choices they were out of so had to go to third choice which is not great. Also their drink menu was still full of Christmas drinks so very out of date. Been there several times before and overall this was the least satisfying
Literally the only people in the restaurant at lunch on a Sunday. With no background noise or music, it was a strange visit - just hearing the few employees chat and walk around. Food was completely average for the huge prices.
Great food and great service. Nice ambiance. Very quiet.
This is not the original Sonoma of Princeton fame so I may sound a bit pickey. Our server was super. The food was good but most would probably think it overpriced if trying to compare with what you were served in Princeton. The atmosphere was good in that it was pleasantly quiet with subdued lighting. For what is now a hotel restaurant it was good.
Would probably go back.
Professional service, outstanding food. Beautiful atmosphere
You should request a booth when making reservations.
We had an early reservation and were seated at a nice table for 2.
The 1/2 bottle of wine ordered off the wine list was not available in a half bottle. The waitress did a great job providing a list of additional half bottles that were available. We chose wine by the glass which the waitress provided several samples to select from.
I had the oysters which didn’t sit well in my stomach, which I called the Resteraunt to let them know, so they could check them.
Very disappointing. We went for breakfast. Wanted the continental breakfast but were told it had ended at 9 am . We were there at 10:15. Nowhere on he menu we were given or on the Open Table information were any time limits listed for the menu. So we left without ordering.
This was our first (and last) visit to Sonoma since it moved from Princeton. What a disappointment! Sonoma was always a special occasion place for us: a bit expensive but worth it for the food, service, and ambiance. This time, however, there were problems in all those areas. It's too bad because having celebrated several Valentines Days at the former site, we were very much looking forward to this one too.
Our first disappointment was to find a fixed menu for the holiday, with only four selections for each of the three courses. While the meals we ordered where okay, there we problems with both the appetizer and main courses. My cup of soup was only lukewarm; my husbands tasty chicken mousse was served with two small crackers for an amount of mousse that required more. My main course short ribs were good. My husband's salmon was served on an oily sauce that detracted from the taste of the fish.
At no point did the person who took our order or any of the servers who brought the food or cleared the plates check to see if we were satisfied, or even refill my empty water glass. When I thanked a server for bring bread, his response was, "No problem." I'd certainly hope not. Even when we were initially seated, and my husband chose a seat other than one that was set, no one moved the place setting for him. The servers were young, so we left them a good gratuity despite the poor service. We place the blame squarely on the management for not training them well. That's the the Sonoma we remember.
The deserts were very good, but a three course meal with some problems and poor service at $85 per person was simple holiday price gauging! Finally, in honor of Valentines Day the heterosexual couples were presented with roses. The same sex couple that always received roses when Sonoma was in Princeton got nothing but the bill.
The restaurant has lost something with the move to Worcester. However, the service and atmosphere are both lovely. The menu was limited since it was Valentines Day but they have a great wine selection. I wish I knew of the limited selection when I made the reservation but the cog au vin was tasteful. I look forward to a return visit with a greater selection of entrees.
We were frequent visitors to Sonoma when it was located in Princeton and always had a wonderful experience including many special occasion family events and milestones ! Since it has relocated to the Beechwood Hotel we have been at least six or more times and have had mostly positive experiences, but also a bit uneven. During this most recent visit on Valentines Day, I made reservations via OpenTable for 4 pm as we had plans later in the evening. I received a confirmation via both email and text. When we arrived promptly at 4 pm the hostess informed us there had been an error with OpenTable and they didn't open until 5 pm. When we pressed the issue with her she became snotty as if it wasn't their problem and said we should come back at 5 pm. INCREDABLY POOR response from such a high-end restaurant!
There is a bar right next to the hostess stand and instead of offering a complementary cocktail she pretended to ignore us. For such an upscale restaurant you would think they would have hired a more mature and professional hostess! When we asked how could they accommodate at 5 pm when there appeared to be no openings for the 5 pm setting, we were told it wouldn't be a problem. When we expressed our concerns the hostess became dismissive. Again INCREDABY POOR!
When we were seated the food was very good, but though the servers were friendly, the service was very uneven! I still can't believe nothing, not a single thing during the evening was comped for the inconvenience the restaurant!
With so many other wonderful restaurants in and around Worcester we won't be going back to Sonoma anytime soon nor would we recommend it to anyone else!
Awesome lobster roll! We will be back for sure!
Went for lunch, only one server on at time, poor service, burger undercooked.
Food was ok. Service was A+ and so was atmosphere.
We haven't been out to Worcester since our daughter graduated from the Worcester Children's Choir. We loved exploring all of the amazing restaurants there. Sonoma was an old favorite when we had a client up in Princeton their first location. So a last minute, where should we go on a Friday night was a boosted by a recommendation on Open Table. WOW are we glad we went! Just off Rt. 9 at the Medical School, Sonoma has kept the lovely and comfortable furniture and architecture of the dining room and added the outstanding menu influenced by former Sonoma Executive Chef and owner Bill Brady who has opened Brady's in Leominster.
We really enjoyed the service Andrew lavished on our table. Along with the lovely menu there was a very reasonable and varied wine selection by the glass and bottle. The cocktails were well mixed. The very fresh warm bread and soft, salt topped, butter started our evening on all the right notes.
My wife had the salmon accompanied by tiny roasted brussel sprouts and squash puree. I hate the duck breast medium rare sliced and presented on a bed of quinoa. It was all beautifully presented at the perfect temperature.
To top off the evening Andrew suggested we have his favorite Sticky Toffee Pudding....he was right!
Sonoma, as highly recommended as it was in Princeton.
My wife and I had dinner at Sonoma after a show recently and thoroughly enjoyed everything. We got there early so had a cocktail at their bar which is very cool (white bar top, lit inside). I had an excellent Espresso Martini. We then went to our table for dinner. We started with appetizers - the Tuna Poke and Shrimp Cocktail. The Horseradish sauce with the Jumbo shrimp was pretty awesome. The Tuna was very fresh and prepared nicely with excellent flavor. For dinner my wife had seared scallops and I had one of the best Filet Mignons I have ever had. It was perfectly cooked medium rare and the rub on the outside was mouth watering. My wife's scallops were also pretty incredible. For dessert we shared a Toffee "pudding cake" dessert that was delicious. We enjoyed a bottle of Merlot during dinner which was quite nice. Service was excellent and our waitress Maria did a great job. All in all, an excellent dining experience.
Andrew was awesome! It was perfect from start to finish! Kudos to Andrew!
Excellent service. Food was terrific . We really like the place . Hidden Gem in Worcester. Prices are comparable to the better restaurants in the area. PLENTY of parking. Safe, Secure area.
Andrew our server was the best
Great family dinner on Christmas!
Service was excellent, but our meals were no more than adequate - not nearly as good, or as well presented, as what we enjoyed when the previous chef/owner headed up the kitchen. We were somewhat disappointed as we expected more from Sonoma. Quite expensive for the quality we got - poor value.
I was there for a holiday celebration with friends. There was soft music playing in the background and the place was quiet allowing my friends and myself to chat and catch up. The waiter and waitresses were very attentive but not over bearing. The four of us had chosen sandwiches , two of the girls got burgers and they both thought they were juicy and tasty done medium just as they asked. I chose the chicken sandwich which was delicious with just the right amount of pesto. Th fourth person got the turkey club and enjoyed it. The fries were crispy and hot. We weren’t rushed and appreciated that. Would dine there again.
i dined at sonoma restaurant in worcester ma. on dec. 16th for dinner. i consider it to be the best seafood restaurant i have ever been to, the menue is extensive with many fresh fish dishes cooked in the manor that each patron prefers. each entree comes with soup or salad and is fairly priced. the food that we had was wonderful there is also a great appetizer list and i loved the bang bang shrimp appetizer. i highly recommend sonoma in worcester ma.
This was our first time at Sonoma. Loved the place! Great food and drinks. Spacious, I could hear my husband talk meaning that it was loud, but not too loud. We will be back.
It was a wonderful dinner and the food was excellent
Terrific service and wonderful meals. We even met the chef afterwards! Highly recommend.
Wonderful waitress, best duck I have had in a long time, and complementary champagne for our anniversary. We had a wonderful time.
Unexpectedly wonderful. This restaurant is overlooked in Worcester.
Service was great to start but slowed down at the end. It took forever to get our check. Other than that, food was great and ambiance was fantastic!
Food was amazing! We had the mussels in an amazing sauce which was perfect for dipping bread. It was our anniversary and we were surprised with glasses of champagne when we were seated. The staff was pleasant and friendly. We had a great dinner and look forward to dining again.
Our party was celebrating a birthday , and Sonoma was the best place to celebrate. Wonderful food, and our waiter was so responsive and delightful.
Meh. I’ve had much better meals elsewhere for less money. Purée was not a good match for the halibut, nor were the vegetables. Halibut was a little overcooked
I was impressed with Sonoma. The restaurant is lovely, comfortable, and conducive to enjoying a quiet dinner. I have food intolerances (dairy, gluten) and the server and chef were both very helpful. I had chicken with roasted vegetables and all were cooked and presented beautifully. The prices are on the high side but the quality of the food and the service made up for cost.
As always, a perfect night. Thank you
We had an enjoyable meal--lovely complementary champagne for our anniversary. Mixup over our order delayed our meal but we didn't mind Have ; it was a delicious meal. We have gone to Sonoma many times in Princeton but the few times we've gone recently the fine dining standard is missing. Not a bad meal but not up to previous standards.
Wonderful and attentive service! Creative use of tasty seasonal ingredients in menu items.
From the moment we walked in the night was special. Andrew our waiter was wonderful.
Food was a 5 star for sure. Thank you all.
Was wonderful all around. Look forward to going again. Was the perfect place for our special night. (Our wedding anniversary) they even specialized our desserts ❤️
Thank you to all for helping make our meeting memorable with the wonderful atmosphere, service and food.
Also, Andrew our waiter was splendid.
Food and service was outstanding.
Got there a little early and sat at the bar. Jeri took great care of us and made a great sidecar and got us some appetizers. The rest of the party arrived and we chose to sit on the patio as it was a nice night. Nicole, our server was attentive but not at all intrusive. She made sure we were well cared for, watered and fed. The food was great as usual. I had the swordfish but changed the sides and the chef made some recommendations to adjust the sides to fit the dish. It was amazing. My brother had the salmon. Also amazing. My fiancé is lactose intolerant and they adjusted her shrimp scampi to ensure it was just as delicious as my mother’s scampi which had butter and cheese. Overall, another great experience at Sonoma.
It was pleasant but pricey for a tier III market (Worcester)
