As always, Sonoma didn't disappoint! We went there for a romantic 40th birthday celebration and it was fantastic!

Sonoma was recommended by a friend for a special occasion. We were celebrating our anniversary. The moment we arrived Scott greeted us and seated us in a nice corner booth. He inquired if this was our first visit which it was so he was attentive to share all that was available at the restaurant. He was very knowledgeable on the menu items and wine list. The food presentation was impressive and everything was excellent that we had to eat. I had the salmon and my husband the lamb. The dessert display was outstanding. We would not hesitate to come back.

we have lived in town for a few years and had heard the chatter about Sonoma for a while. we decided to check it out for my girlfriends birthday. I had high expectations walking in due to the awards and reviews I had heard. my overall impression was a 3.5 out of 5 stars. the food was good but not worth the price point. the pricing is that of fine dining and considering the location and the dust in every corner of the booths, I can't justify the 170 dollars I spent for two people. I don't think this establishment would be as highly acclaimed if it had more competition around it. it is not on the same level as some of the restaurants in Boston or NY but does charge the same amount.

Food and service was excellent, though we did need to wait 15 minutes to be seated for a reservation. The server was very attentive. We had a gluten-free friend in our party and the staff went out of their way to accommodate him, providing a complimentary gluten-free appetizer and dinner roll, and also made numerous suggestions on the menu.

We also enjoyed the live entertainment (a single guitar player).

Sonoma is a food lovers dream. This is a great place to go out on a date. Attentive waitstaff and unbelievable food. It's worth the 40 minute drive for my boyfriend and I. Prices for entrees are in the $30-$50 range and it's worth every penny. We had the caesar salad (delicious!!) steak topped with blue cheese and my boyfriend had the prime rib. Meat was perfectly cooked and I love the variety of sides. Especially the beets!!Desserts are to die for. Can't wait to go back.

We chose Sonoma for a belated Valentine's Day dinner and were very pleased! The food was excellent, as usual. I had the flatbread with duck confit, which was very tasty and ample so I'd recommend sharing it. We had the white anchovy on the caesar salad...nothing like the salty, fishy commonplace anchovies! Our seafood entrees were delicious...pistachio encrusted salmon and seafood en croute. The classical guitar music added to a relaxed atmosphere and an enjoyable dining experience overall.

This was our first visit to Sonoma. We ordered the Lobster Bisque and 2 Filet Mignon. About 15 minutes after ordering, one of the waitstaff came to our table with 2 Filet Mignon. As soon as she arrived, she looked down and saw our soup spoons and realized that the Filet had come out early. She remarked, "My mistake" and abrubtly exited back to the kitchen. 5 minutes later the Lobster Bisque arrived. It was unremarkable. 10 minutes later our Filets arrive and they are bone dry.I asked the waiter(Bob)if they were the same Filets that came out 20 minutes ago. He was clearly rattled by my question and stumbled over his words. Ultimately he said they were not. So either the cook is awful or Bob wasn't telling the truth. $34 and dry as a bone!

We ordered the Sea Bass Special and the Seafood en croute which were delicious. We were disappointed with the rolls, warm but dry and almost a little stale tasting. We also ordered the Lobster bisque as an appetizer, another disappointment. Unusually thick and salty. The only lobster was a very small claw on top. We ate the claw and a spoonful or 2 of the bisque. Too heavy to eat more. Dessert was outstanding. Creme brulee. This is our 3rd time dining at the Sonoma and the only time we have ever been a little disappointed

The restaurant feels like it is made to look sophisticated, but it's a thin veneer. It's but a few steps from chintzy. The first course we got was a lobster bisque with a lobster claw and vanilla oil. It was really more like very salty, coagulated baby food with FAR too much salt. And vanilla, for future reference, does not work well with seafood. It was a salty as canned soup and had bits of claw in it. Our meat was overcooked. Bummer. When we were ordering, out waitress essentially said to hurry up. It was odd. For nearly $200 a meal should be nearly perfect. Ours was merely adequate. When a modest restaurant pleases, we cheer. When a pretentious and expensive restaurant fails, we must jeer. Sorry.

We had a great meal at Sonoma. The waiter was prompt, and could explain the menu. The meal was very good. Note the appetizers were not the small size you find in other restaurants. I'd recommend others to this restaurant with ease.

Classic dinner menu (we had the Osso Bucco and the duck), solid and high quality food with nice presentation and professional wait staff, but for the price (main courses priced at 30 to 40 bucks) it seems to be missing that special touch to make it spectacular. Nevertheless, we had a nice Valentine's dinner and enjoyed ourselves at Sonoma.

We visited on Valetines day with a 7:30 reservation. The food was outstanding! I enjoyed the Prime Rib while the wife went with the blue cheese steak, also very good. Where this restaurant falls short is service. We waited a full 10 minutes before even seeing our server, this continued throughout the evening. I expected much more. On the ambiance side, nothing spectacular.

Nice restaurant but certainly not as highly rated as it appears. My guess is that a number of Princeton residents are over-hyping their local eatery. We paid $200 (including tip) for a meal for the two of us with 1 drink each. The food was better than what you'd find at your local 99 Restaurant chain for sure, but it is wildly over-priced for what you get. Let's not forget you are eating in a small strip mall with zero view. This meal should have been priced in the $125 range AT MOST. The service was excellent but overall this is a 3 star restaurant that charges 5 star prices.

Once again, Sonoma was not disappointing. My carpaccio was outstanding with one of the prettiest presentations ever, the rack of lamb was out of this world. My husbands salad and sirloin blue was terrific. Our waitress recommended the chocolate dessert and it was sinful. We have been to Sonoma several times and I am still waiting to find a flaw. The service was just as good as the food. Great Work

Sonoma is one of the most expensive restaurants I have ever been to. The food was probably the best I've ever had as well as the waitress. The atmosphere was excellent. An actual guitarist performed in the background making me feel like I was getting a fine concert with the meal. I thought they could have given us more food on our main course.I am always a bit wary when I am given rolls, hors d'oeuvres and a huge salad before the main course. Once I'm willing to pay the price don't skimp please. Having said that- I will go back at least once more and see if I feel the same.
