Delicious food, great service, and pleasing environment. Beautifully cooked Sea Bass over broccoli rabe with a pineapple chutney as well as a flavorful spinach ravioli. Chocolate tort for dessert was nice and light. All in all my face hole was delighted and well taken care of. Definitely recommend, will go again when next in the area.
Great place to have dinner just off the plaza. Food and service were both wonderful. I would have liked to have had more menu options, however what they do have they are good at.
Girls’ birthday weekend in Napa.
Wonderful seafood platter brunch and bubbles. Looking forward to coming back.
Consistently delicious with great service at a reasonable price.
Food was ok, nothing that I would go back to again.
I/we have eaten at the grille a number of times. The food is always delicious. I enjoy being able to choose a smaller meal or enter from the mains. The outside patio is delightful, especially now that it's tented. Only complaint, we asked for an iced tea refill and they charged us the full amount of a new order.
The outdoor dining space for Covid is well conceived and well done. Patio heaters are available, spaces between tables are appropriate. This was our first time to the restaurant. The wine list is very limited so we recommend bringing your own wine. For a restaurant in Sonoma, they should have a lower corkage or even waive corkage for Sonoma/Napa wines like many other places do (currenty they charge $25, but it was worth it given the limited list). The food was fine - the ingredients are decent but the dishes are a little off. A beet salad with goat cheese would have been very good, but it had too much dressing and raisins were added, making it overly sweet. The bread is not good, which is a shame because they charge for it. And the gravy with our steaks seemed to be a pre-packaged sort of sauce. Overall, the restaurant is decent, but not great. I don't think we will go back.
We love this place!! Owner and service so wonderful. Great food.
Everything was excellent. Three of us ordered sea bass but they were out of it. Service was great and they substituted salmon for the sea bass.
Food was average. Not the best fresh ingredients you would expect from this area.
Clams however were delicious, highly recommended.
Excellent meal and service!! Highly recommend!
Windy and cold out back.
Place was amazing. Great food and great staff. This is a family owned restaurant that makes you feel like you are part of the family. Making it a must whenever in town.
We had dinner indoors at approx 8.30 pm. There was a door opened and it was very cold inside. That was uncomfortable. Food was good.
I know restaurants are just getting their groove back so I will try this place again. I definitely didn’t think the cioppino was worth 50.00. The crab could have been pre cracked to make it a little easier. What a mess! Staff was friendly, our waitress was also the bartender. I will give it another try at a later date.
It was a fun place despite the early closing and sparse attendance due to Covid. We liked it a lot and our server was great.
This was a wonderful dinner with my husband and the food was delicious!!
Great food wine service ambiance! Right across street. From Sonoma Bungalows.
Sonoma Grille in short is just okay. Our server Patrick was very nice and extremely professional. The food was just okay. Older crowd so it’s not a great place for fun and excitement
Even with reservation had to wait a lot of time to be seated.
Service on table was exelent.
Great food and atmosphere!
Beautiful outdoor area, had heat lamps to keep everyone warm and the staff couldn't have been nicer! Everything was great.
We (2 people) sat outside and the accommodations were fine. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. I have eaten at The Grille several times and was disappointed in the Gorgonzola/Pear/Pecan salad. The ingredients did not seem very fresh and it was underdressed. I had the mushroom risotto which was okay, but seemed a little under seasoned. My friend had the spinach ravioli and said it was good, but nothing to rave about. I will be back another time, but hope this temporary lack in deliciousness was just a bad night as you get back into the swing of serving a larger group of patrons.
My husband and I went mid week, ate outdoor very nice, will give you a heater if needed
The food and drinks where wonderful.
We had a reservation on the outside patio. Excited to be going out for 2 hr drive to Sonoma again and dining in public. But when we arrived we were told that no pets were allowed on the patio (we have a 6 lb. toy poodle, well behaved). (There was NO indication of this rule on the Restaurants or Open Tables website!!!!) The Owner offered us the 1 small table at the parking lot ( gas fumes and all) area by entry in the shade. We were disappointed but agreed. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay, the "Vegan Flatbread "and the "homemade Saffron pappardelle w/ tiger prawns". The Vegan Flatbread was fabulous! an explosion of flavors on the tongue with artichoke, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, a super creamy pesto and feta cheese- A 5 Star appetizer for $11! The Prawn pasta came with baby arugula, sun dried tomatoes with a light lobster sauce. The only good part of this dish was the tasty lobster sauce. The prawns were overcooked and like rubber, and the veggies were minimalistic. So for $26, I would NOT suggest this dish. I did share my review of the food with the Manager/Owner, passed on dessert menu and left $100 lighter. - I would still recommend but stick to the appetizers and Oyster menu.
Neima, owner and host, greeted us warmly and provided a wonderful table on the patio. We each had very different meals: scrambled egg special, salmon spinach salad, and oysters and a filet mignon. The food was fantastic, service excellent so what could be better.
Lovely patio area, tables spaced far apart. Great tent canopy which covers the area and space heaters. Our waiter, Kameron, was terrific. Great food!
A must for seafood! Everything was delicious. They have their own parking lot, which was a bonus.
We have eaten at the Sonoma Grill and have always had a great time and meal. unfortunately due to Covid the outside area was where almost all patrons were and the ability to try and heat the area was not great. We arrived and noticed that there were multiple space heaters around 2 small tables and when we asked if one could be scooted over a few feet to try and give some warmth to the large party table we were at, they said they were sorry, but they couldn't. Wish there could have been a little thought put into the comfort of the guests (more heaters)..... I would recommend the Sonoma Grill but, after either the weather is warmer or when the occupancy level inside increased to sit inside.
I would not go again- we sat on the back patio, and it was for a birthday celebration. There was nobody there- no energy, and the food was fair. A friend chose it and I trusted her (remind me not to do that again!).
The food was excellent. Best French fries I have had in a long time, and their BLT is exceptionally good. Very fresh and flavorful ingredients. My wife had a shrimp salad that she is still raving about.
The restaurant is not luxurious, but comfortable.
Prices and service good.
We were visiting the area and we picked this restaurant because of the great reviews. They were right.
We will be back the next time we are in the Sonoma area.
The food was really just down home comfort food. Everything was just good. Steak
cooked to perfection. Steamed clams great.
Would eat here again for sure.
Need to hire more waitstaff. Service was lacking. Took far too long between being seated and being attended to by a waitress. For example, It was over 15 minutes after we arrived and seated that we were even offered the wine list
Food was good but not a great value for the price.
It’s also tacky to charge for bread, as this restaurant does.
This is a lovely venue, but they haven't changed their menu in YEARS. Also, four prawns on a prawn salad is a bit meager, don't you agree?
Beautiful patio dining.Plenty warm even in winter monthes. All food delicious, but pasta off the charts.
no service of any kind for 25 minutes!!!
no water, no menu. nothing.
food was okay.
loud loud loud group that yelled and was extremely loud for our entire visit.
not even the owner seemed to care that we were disturbed.
I finally nicely asked them to please respect the other guest.. they rudely said
lady is isn't church?
I won't come back for Sunday brunch. perhaps lunch as I've had some pleasant times here for lunch.. but gee... what a disappointment.
We wanted to take a spontaneous drive to Sonoma on Sunday. The options were limited.
Once we arrived we realized we had been there in the past. The square was very busy for a sunny Sunday. We were grateful that this location is close to the square but just off of it. That allowed for a comfortable and for the most part a quiet dining experience.
The service was great. The food was extremely good and very fresh. We enjoyed the salmon salad, and added some prawns. In addition, we enjoyed the scrambled eggs (brunch on Sunday only). We would highly recommend it. I look forward to returning soon.
Enjoy!
Oysters were out of this world. Linguini with scampi were outstanding. Friendly amd attentive service. very pleased.
Great regular menu options as well as excellent specials. Reasonably priced wine and drink menu. Great IPA which is brewed right there on site.
