Sonoma has been our favorite dining location for many years. They recently remodeled/updated the restaurant, which is beautiful, and they still have the same great food quality. We treated our friends to dinner this last time since they helped us out taking care of our animals when we were away over the holidays. You cannot go wrong if you decide to try this out. Most meals are reasonably priced.

This used to be my favorite restaurant. They have remodeled and changed their menu. They no longer have any specials of the day. We ordered Lobster Bisque soup like I do every time I have eaten there. There was lots of bisque but no lobster. One small cracker floating on the top. First disappointment. I ordered a Ginger Ale that never showed up. I really wanted seafood specials. There were none. I got Lobster tail. Nothing special just ordinary for $30.00. After dinner we wanted the Chocolate layer cake that was on the old menu. Chef has taken that off too. I will not be back. Should have left a good thing alone.

I have eaten at Sonoma Cellar Steakhouse a few other times and it has always been exceptional. This time, it was awful. Maybe it was because it was New Years Day. My rib-eye steak was good and my wife's scallops were good but everything else was almost uneatable. The portion of Lobster bisque was an absolute joke. It came in a very small dish and was only 1/2 full. I bet it wasn't even 4 ounces and it had shells in it. The mac and cheese was extremely bland and tasteless. The side of asparagus was uneatable, it was even served with the dead end bottom on the stalk, and it was extremely tough and stringy. The hassle back potatoes potatoes was a joke. A side of golden Yukon potatoes (2 very small potatoes), that tasted steamed with a little butter and a few bacon crumbs on top. The wedge salad was by far the smallest wedge salad I have ever received and was extremely drenched in dressing. If that amount of dressing was on a normal size wedge salad it probably would have been okay. We were also almost half way through our dinner before we received our bottle of wine that we order first. Also I ask the server for a side of horseradish for my steak which never came. What was very sad is that it wasn't even very busy the night we went considering it was New Years Day. This review may seem very critical but I hold this restaurant to a higher standard, because it has always been extremely good. I feel extremely disappointed and let down. Not sure if I will ever return.

Unfortunately for me, I became ill do to a flu bug that hit me out of the blue. The food though is wicked pissa! I had one of the best bone-in ribeye's of my life, just had it today in fact. I had to take my entire meal home in a box. Only ate one bite in the restaurant. When you order you side, do yourself a favor and get the broccoli, yes the broccoli. It is so good that I am trying to find the recipe online. There are two reasons I didn't give this visit a 5 star was 1) it is pricey, I mean like you read about. 2) Our waiter was on the condescending side. Like a cross between Tom Arnold and Jon Lovitz. When asked about having an apple cider this guy acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. It's my wife's drink of choice. Being from MA where we have dozens of great ciders. Then I re-questioned him and he mentioned he might have an apple beer. This and his mannerism made me feel like we were a bunch of hillbillies, though my wife thought he was ok. Anyway, I would go back, food is awesome.

Dinner was on Christmas night and the place was busy. It seems like it’s typically busy, mostly due to the quality of food and reliability of service. We were a bit late being seated but this was llikely due to the slower turnover with a holiday crowd.

The food was delicious and served hot, fresh and prepared well. We had a challenge with our server not always being around for refills but someone was typically there to assist without too much fuss.

The place was recently remodeled (6 months ago?) and looks fantastic. It’s always been an upscale place but now has a more modern look and cleaner feel.

Having said all of that, and with the knowledge that the average plate is North of $30, it is very discouraging that there is no dress code enforced here. Several males were wearing baseball caps, some wearing leather vests and a few ‘hoodie’ pullovers. I’m not trying to pretend that everyone has to wear a tuxedo to eat out. But, when selecting a location to celebrate a ‘formal’ dinner, I don’t think it’s too much to enforce a minimum for dress (no hats, no tanks, collared shirts...).

All in all, the experience was only ‘ruined’ by my above comments. I don’t know if we’d go back for a ‘big dinner’ but if this sort of thing does not bother you, please do go. The food is very good and the service is as well.

It was busy for the holiday, yet the service was prompt. Our steaks were done as we ask. The wine list is not large but has enough choices to be interesting. We shared a dessert. A very nice Christmas dinner.

I went with my family for a Christmas Dinner. I have been going to this restaurant for 5 years. I was VERY disappointed this time around. My family was looking forward to a great steak & an expected wonderful dessert. Imagine when I asked for my usual Sonoma Foster dessert & was told it wasn't available any longer. I complained to the manager, Aaron who told me some BS story about how the Henderson Fire Dept wouldn't allow open fires in this restaurant anymore. Funny, they've allowed it for the last 7 years this restaurant had been allowed. I checked old HFD fire logs to see if there were fire mishaps there and there were NONE! Brian, the waiter, did an excellent job & apologized about the steak selection (or lack of...) in this restaurant. Since your 'redo' of the Sonoma Steak House, your food/dessert quality has diminished considerably! I won't be going back! You might bring this up with your Food & Beverage Management! My cheesecakes were dry and tasted old as well.

I believe our server was Brian, who was very attentive and nice. We both ordered your filet and lobster special and it was exceptional. The filet was actually the best I have ever tasted. We also loved the big band era music, although it was a little too loud. We will definitely return for another fine meal.

The management is bean counting so much that this place is not what it use to be. We use to come here and order the huge seafood dish as an appetizer along with a full meal for each member of the family and deserts. We loved it. Now the seafood platter is gone. The deserts have nothing to offer for diabetics, nut allergies, and milk allergies. The portions at dinner are smaller. The steaks are not as thick. The staff work really hard to compensate for the changes but the looming manager is a constant reminder. He watches the staff like a hawk and made our visit very uncomfortable. He really needs to trust his staff more and leave the guests alone. He actually approached our table and asked if we needed more bread at the end of our meal. Really weird.

Having eaten at the other Station Casino steakhouses, T-Bones, Austins and Hanks, my husband and I were looking forward to eating at Sonoma Cellar, since it is only five minutes from our home (we moved to Henderson from NLV and had always visited Austins at the Texas). I had the veal chop, which was okay (would not order it again) and my husband had the filet which was very good and very tender. The sides we ordered were the Hasselback Potatoes and Charred Sweet Corn, which we both were order again, as they were both delicious. The service was not up to the standard as in the other steakhouses. My husband just assumed they didn't have any sauces to accompany the steak, since the waiter failed to mention any, and it wasn't until dinner was over that the subject of sauces came up. My leftover veal chop was not removed from the table and bagged for me, but I was given a container and had to do it myself, not that I can't, but other upscale restaurants always bag the leftovers for you. The table was not cleaned of bread crumbs prior to dessert. When dessert came my husband ordered coffee, but I didn't want any, until my husband was served his, as the waiter did not mention that the restaurant serves French Press coffee; that was a definite plus to the evening. The ambience is just so-so. I understand they did just do a remodel, so do not know what it looked like before, but feel it could be a little more intimate, like Austins. We will try the restaurant again, since it so close to our house, as maybe it was just an off-night for the establishment. Our ranking of the steakhouses are: T-Bones, Austins, Sonoma Cellar and Hanks.

We decided on Sonoma for Thanksgiving dinner because of their excellent food quality, and we were not disappointed. The turkey dinner was reasonably priced, delicious, and tons of it. Definitely enough for leftovers. Sonoma continues to be our favorite place for dining out.

We were celebrating our marriage and when we arrived we were greeted with a bottle of champagne at the table. We had a few appetizers, which were all amazing. The bone marrow was probably the best app, with the bacon wrapped stuffed shrimp being a close 2nd. My wife loved the crabmeat appetizer and she normally doesn't like crab. Our steaks came out cooked to perfection. One person ordered the lamb t-bones and absolutely loved it. The sides are big enough to be shared, which we did. The chef and manager both came to the table and congratulated us on our day. Very nice touch! Chef Britt definitely shows off his New Orleans roots in his cooking. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Vegas.

We are the "testers" for our food group... Sonoma Cellar's Food undercooked and bland... did not bring ordered sauce... atmosphere not fine dining... people wearing dirty blue jeans, untucked ragged shirts, baseball hats, and shorts... extremely noisy... cannot have quiet conversations... waiter is bothersome, interruptive, and talks too much... A la carte entree's all overpriced... need a flashlight to read the menu... Two people drank water, had an appetizer, meat, veg, and potato for $152... very disappointed... will never recommend or bring our group.

We have been coming here for years. Now with the recent renovation the atmosphere is even more enjoyable. The wait staff is always friendly and personable. This time we had Jason and Poom and felt like we were treated as vips. Of course they knew it was our anniversary, and Sandy's birthday. Yes they are both on the same day. We even had birthday and anniversary cards on our table from the staff. This was a nice touch. The food was great as always, as one of our favorite wines, Hands of Time. If I had one criticism to make it would be to go back to the old sauteed mushroom recipe. I don't care much for the new one. Other than this you will not be disappointed with your experience.

The steaks were outstanding and cooked to perfection. The Rib Eye house special was as good as any steak I've ever eaten!
From the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by the two young ladies, you are in for a treat!
On top of this, I found out that they have a great happy hour with some really cool beers half price!
No need to go to the Strip anymore for a steak dinner!
