Simply Incredible in every way, we will be back and not just for special occasions.
We had the most fabulous dinner at Sonny's! Appetizer - Scallops with Caviar was simply amazing - both entrees were melt in your mouth delicious - beef tournedos with garlic potato pancakes and the filet special were our choices. It's a very nice place to celebrate and I've heard the bar is a great place to have a drink and a sandwich - we plan to try that next.
Excellent as usual.
It was our first visit. We went there for our Anniversary and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very nice and everyone there wished us a Happy Anniversary. You can tell that the lost art of Hospitality is not lost here.
Long time regular at Nico’s, then Sonny ‘s, unfortunately this last experience was unfortunate. Assistant server was great, food and service was not to the level for a date night to spend nearly $190 was not worth going back.
Prime rib and short ribs were not anywhere near a steakhouse representative, flavorless and somewhat tough. Food and Service was not at the level we ever experienced at that level of reward to the level of restaurant, there. Just sad. No where was the manager to give a comment of helpful advice.
We were at Sonny's to celebrate my mothers 80th birthday. Our waiter did not seem to care for us in the least. He argued with me over my opinion of your Caesar Salad and frankly said some pretty detrimental things about the restaurant when you did serve the tableside Caesar. Regardless, we did end up ordering several salads and I think all but one were not eaten at all.
It appeared to me and my party that this waiter did not enjoy serving us. He rarely checked back with us and had his helper do most of the actual work. She was an absolute joy, and we did did end up tipping her extra.
Such as shame. I will not recommend this resaurant any longer. Our waiter ruined our experience and did not deserve the tip left for him.
The interior is darkly wooded, nice yet not overly fussy. There were people fully dressed up and people dressed casually. I had a Caesar salad, 6 ounce filet and baked potato; all of which were perfect. My husband had the porterhouse and side of asparagus. We split a bottle of wine. The markup on the wine was typical. It was a great meal, although a pricey one. With 20% tip, it hit $300. The dinner was perfect, the service was good. It’s a great special occasion place. If not for the wine, it would have been just under $200.
Sonny's never disappoints. Their team defines "customer service" - very friendly, helpful and dedicated to delivering above and beyond exceptional service. The food is fantastic too!
My husband and I took our 6 children to your restaurant for Easter and were sorely disappointed. After an amazing local dining experience at the Green Briar Inn in Boulder, we expected a similar experience here (they were booked, so we opted to stay in Fort Collins). The food was cold and tasteless. The only thing worthy of mention was the lamb and the cobbler. Otherwise, it was mediocre at best. I could have prepared a FEAST for $360 at home that would have been much more palatable.
We had heard such WONDERFUL things about your restaurant. I'm sure you live up to your reputation when ordering off of the standard menu - but as for the buffet - not so much.
Great as always!
This restaurant had extremely friendly and helpful staff. There were plenty of selections for our six year old as well as for a vegetarian. Their beet salad is delicious and one of my favorites.
I went in just for dinner by myself. The staff was awesome, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. I would highly recommend Sonny Lubick Steakhouse. My only complaint was it's a little pricey.
When my husband and I need a fantastic meal in a wonderful, quiet setting with superb attention from servers-we go to Sonny's. The filets are to die for-cooked perfectly, extremely tender, and just the right size. We are both VERY picky with our restaurant expectations and Sonny's ALWAYS exceeds our expectations!
We usually have Kevin for our server and he is WONDERFUL! So very attentive and provides refills quickly while being responsive to any requests. He is absolutely the BEST server we've ever had-ANYWHERE- and part of the reason we look forward to dining at Sonny's!
Although Sonny's may be a little more expensive than other Ft. Collins restaurants-they are SO worth it! If you are looking for a relaxed dining experience with EXCELLENT food and service, it doesn't get any better then Sonny's!
Awesome food atmosphere and service! Great place for any occasion.
Monday nights are outstanding with no drop in quality. Everything was excellent. We could even carry on a conversation without noise or interruption. Thanks for a great evening.
Sonnys was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. Service, Food and Atmosphere were exactly what we wanted. Very enjoyable evening
from booking the reservations online to the excellent food and exceptional service we will be adding Sonny's to our list of go to places.
Our server Kevin was outstanding! The food and drinks were amazing!
My husband received a gift card for this restaurant before we moved here from Atlanta. It took us a couple of months to get settled and decided to try it out one night. We were extremely impressed with the staff (especially Brandy & Madison) and truly enjoyed the food and ambiance. We will be coming back to eat here again. We were not sure if we could find fine dining in Colorado - but Sonny Lubick's changed our mind!
Food was very average. Very little flavor in both of our filets. Unfortunately we will not go back. Was not worth the money.
Delicious food, extremely professional staff. Pretty pricey but you're getting really high quality foods so it's worthwhile! Definitely a business or professional dinner kind of place if you're looking to impress! Same could be said for a date!
Remains the best steak house in Northern Colorado. And, my husbans had salmon which was excellent as well!
Went here for my birthday. The dirty blue goose martini and cumber martini were amazing! I had the tenderloin medallions...they were so good. We ended with the warm butter cake...so amazing. The service was fantastic. We will definitely go back. Oh, and the wine menu was great too!
Service was great. Tasty tomato salad. Prime rib nothing special and bread pudding not great either.
My most favorite place of all - great food, great service. A perfect evening!
Went in to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and participate in the "Great Plates" charity event. Girlfriend ordered the salmon and asked that the sauce be held, as she had an allergy to the onions in it. Waitress very curtly said something to the effect of "no changes allowed". Tried to work with her, but got no where. Both ended up with the prime rib, which was ok, but not great. We both felt between the food and the service, it wasn't worth what we paid, which was almost half off regular price due to the event.
We had a great time for my boyfriends birthday
We participated in Great Plates. The dining choices were good, wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable, nice atmosphere.
My wife is handicapped and the restaurant is below street level with no obvious elevator access. It was very difficult just to get in the front door. We ordered our meal, received our appetizer and were then told that the prime rib special advertised with a special menu insert and highlighted by the waitress was sold out (I understand running out of a special but then remove the inserts and inform your staff) - I substituted a prime rib and my wife substituted a New York strip - my steak was just a poor cut of meat, greasily and tough (I am a chef myself I know the difference) - my wife's was under cooked - our daughters Cesar salad had a very strong anchovy flavor which she did not care for. Near the end of the meal we were asked how liked the food and we expressed our concerns - we were told we should have brought it up sooner - which is true but they knew we were not having the greatest experience by this time so they could have checked in sooner also - by the end of the meal the staff had simply given up trying to make this a decent experience - we were comped two beers for our trouble - and then had to tackle those stairs again with my wife handicap - we won't be back
Service at Sonny's is usually amazing, but this time it left a lot to be desired
Good price for the fundraising event, otherwise overpriced on meals. Drinks are well priced and good variety. Wonderful servers!
We came for Great Plates fund raiser. Service was the best! Food was delicious. Prime rib could have been sliced a tad thicker. Will come again.
Everything was perfect. Service was excellent. Great way to spend our 13 year anniversary.
Always delightful. Well prepared food accompanied by excellent service. A pleasant serene environment where there is abundant table talk but it doesn’t get drowned out by your neighbors
We have visited this restaurant numerous times. This time we all agreed it was “different.” Our table wasn’t ready which is fine. I understand that happens. After watching the hostess seat a party of two then a party of four while we were still waiting in the bar I had to say something. The hostess kept on talking about the “dining experience” and by this time we just wanted a table, the talk of the experience meant nothing. Finially the bartender said this was ridiculous and he went and set a table for us. The food was very slow but good tasing. The waiter was not as attentive as what we have experienced in the past. Not sure I would go back but would tell people the food is good but service iffy.
We think this is the best restaurant in Fort Collins, and that's saying something!
We have lied in Loveland for 18 years now. Always heard about Sonny's place. Finally made it. Man what we have been missing !! Food was excellent. Service was most pleasing. I'm on vacation this week, we'll be back before the week is out. EXCELLENTAMUNDO !!
Excellent service. Waiter was outstanding. Food was not great. Lobster was like chewing on rubber. Not much butter with it. Price for what we got was expected but way to high. Won't go back. Had to try it once.
OK food, for the quality of the food I thought the prices were on the high side. not great, very nice staff .
Best overall dining in downtown Ft Collins. Tranquil dining room, very energetic bar scene and great local performers provide high quality music with great acoustics in this cozy underground space. Terrific specials add to already great menu with seafood, steaks and well prepared vegetables and side dishes. We already booked our office holiday party here-9 months in advance!
