Sonny Lubick Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
Food is always consistent. Worst service experienced in 8 years! Server was more interested in chatting about kids to other guests than attending to groups in serving area. Manager had to take dessert order - poor showing buy server, good pick up by manager at the time.
Went to Sonny Lubick for an early Valentine's Day dinner, service and atmosphere were excellent. My wife and I both ordered the filet, it was just a bit dry and slightly overcooked, but nothing to complain about, excellent flavor and the wine selections were fantastic. Would recommend going here for the outstanding service, quiet atmosphere, and great wine.
Our dinner was around valentine's Day, so the special on the menu we chose was Chateaubriand which was for two. We also chose the table-side salad which was prepared at the table, adding ingredients of your choice. The meat was excellent, tender, and tasty, and was accompanied by roasted vegetables. We like it served with Bernaise sauce that we found out later was an additional charge. The service was not up to Nico's standards (previous owner) but was very good. We plan on making this our special occasion restaurant.
Service was great. Had the bison steak and was very flavorful although I’ve had more tender bison before. Oysters on the half shell were outstanding. Great service. Friendly staff that checked on us often enough to be helpful without being overbearing. Desert was a little underwhelming compared to the rest of the dinning experience.
We arrived at the time of our reservation, only to be told that we could not be seated as they did not have a server. We were shuffled to the bar, however, we were never waited on in the bar. The bartender did not come to our table to inquire about drinks. Next we were off to the dining room, evidently, the server had arrived.
The meal was good. The service was good. The beginning to the evening did not really set a positive start to the evening.
We were very impressed. The staff was very friendly and walked us thru the menu. They had some kind of problem getting our food out to us as quickly as they wanted to so they didn't charge us for the wine. They were very apologetic and comforting. We are hoping to return again very soon. Thank you for making our 39th wedding anniversary special.
Steak was not hot and not medium well as we ordered it. Was our anniversary and told them that when we made reservation but our waiter didn’t even know. Nothing special about the evening. Did get a free desert once we told them it was our anniversary, but thought it would be a little more special occasion than it was.
We eat at Sonny Lubick‘s about once a month, either in the dining room or in the bar. We love the atmosphere, the service and the food. Three of us ate here on Friday night in the dining room. We all ordered something different – fillet, ribeye, and spareribs. Everyone’s meal was cooked perfectly. The service by Greg was excellent. We shared the flourless chocolate cake for dessert, which is always excellent. Highly recommend.
Steaks were better than the prime rib, which the waiter correctly identified in advance of our order. Food overall was fine, but below the quality of similarly priced restaurants in Washington, DC, where we were visiting from. Bourbon selection very modest for a steak house. Atmosphere/decor below average. Other meals in Ft. Collins were more inspiring.
Everything about our experience was outstanding. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our bone marrow appetizer was decadent, three salads were fantastic, and three desserts were delicious. Main dishes included lamb, steak, lobster, and tilefish, all of which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I'd never even heard of tilefish but our server recommended it and it was amazing. I have zero complaints about any part of our experience. While this is not an every-day restaurant due to the price, it's going to be a new regular for us on special occasions.
This was my second time at Sonny Lubick’s, and both times have been a wonderful experience. Our waitress, Kaitlyn, was especially helpful and delightful. My only complaint is that I’m not very impressed by their desserts. I had the toffee sundae, which was literally just crushed up pieces of toffee on top of vanilla ice cream, with Hershey’s syrup. Definitely not worth $9 in my opinion.
New Years Eve 2017
Food was lukewarm ... lobster tail and salmon were over cooked as well. Catch of the Day was stated as Halibut on line but was Tile Fish (?) on the real menu. Dessert was a gelatinous disaster! They were out of the bottle of Pinot Grigio I ordered. Sunday evenings were advertised on line as offering 1/2 off bottles of certain wines but we were told that this was outdated information that would certainly be changed thanks to our informing them of it!! All night Sunday Happy Hour was also not a reality !! Hostess said “Sorry about that” as she cruised by !!
Our service was great however!
Went here recently with my parents visiting from San Francisco. We were celebrating family/ the start of wedding planning! We all enjoyed our meal. I ordered the steak medallion, and it was AMAZING! Cooked to perfection! You will not be disappointed! I was so sad to finish my food- It was so delicious! The service was wonderful! Our waiter and the manager were quick to fix our order and did so very graciously. Thank you for your friendly service! ! I will definitely be enjoying another meal here in the near future.
Food was excellent as was the service. It’s spendy though. I made a reservation and told them it was my wife’s 40th birthday, they acknowledged that but didn’t do anything special like a desert. Even IHOP does a desert on your birthday. Aside from that the service would have been five star.
OK, everything about the evening was great, however, my wife's Lobster was not good and it kind of set the tone for the rest of the evening. The staff did not charge for the lobster, which I believe that is the least you should do. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends. the staff was fantastic.
